"Ming Yue, you have some nerve," Ye Xiu said, his face and voice as cold as ice. "Did you think I didn’t know you were colluding with Ergouzi? Did you think you could escape my notice?"

"I... I... uh, Ye Xiu, you-you-you... listen to me, I can explain!" Scared half to death, Ming Yue dropped to her knees. "I haven’t betrayed you!" she babbled. "I’m undercover on Ergouzi’s side! "Call him. Make up a good excuse and arrange a meeting," Ye Xiu commanded.

Ye Xiu raised a hand and pulled him back through the air, grabbing the back of his neck. "We’ve known each other for ten years," he said coldly. "When have you ever seen or heard of anyone escaping my grasp?"

All of Ergouzi’s previous composure in front of Ye Xiu vanished, replaced by a genuine, soul-deep fear and despair.
