Magus Supremacy
Chapter 1047: Out for Blood?
Chapter 1047
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Thalos and Orion clashed with lethal intensity.
Fenrir stood off to the side, holding off on his breakthrough mode for a little longer while his eyes tracked the movements between the two.
He could see that slight cracks were beginning to appear—openings for him to take advantage of and swoop in.
It seemed like Noir and Kira had noticed this as they immediately bolted forward to assist the gargoyle in taking Orion down.
Beams of lightning exploded from Kira’s beak toward the beast warrior.
Yet, even as he was taking on Thalos alone with barely any breathing space, he was able to sidestep the beam as it plowed into the earth, disintegrating it totally.
Fireballs burst out from Noir’s mouth, hurtling toward the beast warrior with rapid velocity.
However, slamming his foot into Thalos’ abdomen and sending the gargoyle lurching backward for a moment, Orion burst forward with explosive force, intending to clash with the fireballs.
Ki exploded around his hands and form, strengthening his pincer-like claws and his body as he darted into the fireballs and immediately slashed at them.
His pincer-like claws tore through the flames, slicing them in half as they detonated against the air, creating a dense smokescreen.
Bursting through the heart of this smoke was Thalos, as his greatsword descended toward Orion with blazing speed, parting the haze for a second to reveal that the beast warrior was no longer there.
The greatsword sliced through the earth with little to no resistance, throwing huge chunks of rock into the air with immense force.
Twirling around while his hands snapped into place, the greatsword appeared in front of the gargoyle just as a foot from Orion smashed into its surface.
Even though he was literally made of polished marble stone, the gargoyle felt his hands vibrate instantly as a ripple coursed through his muscles while he was sent reeling backward in pain.
’My chance.’
"Breakthrough."
Boooom—!
The clouds darkened overhead as Fenrir’s body glowed with a soft white sheen.
His hair floated above his shoulders, his eyes glowing with a deep white intensity.
Rumblings could be heard in the sky as lightning could be seen snaking through their depths like a living beast.
Crack!
A lightning bolt fell from the sky, slamming into Fenrir and then shooting back up.
The mage disappeared in its blinding, searing depth, leaving behind scorched, splintered earth.
Orion hadn’t noticed this phenomenon happening on the sidelines as a hundred lightning feathers shot toward him from the lightning phoenix.
He quickly created an obsidian scythe of gleaming ki that was connected to a pair of Ki chains, allowing him to swing them forward with fluid speed.
He clashed with the feathers without moving from his position.
His chains were swinging around in the air, colliding with and sending the feathers plowing into the ground around him.
He didn’t slow down; his hands blurred forward, batting the feathers away from him.
Only clanging sounds were heard as Kira didn’t relent.
She only paused when a scythe shot toward her with blinding speed, forcing her to blink away in time as the weapon crashed into the air with shaking force.
At that exact moment, before Orion could retract his scythe, a loud bang was heard.
Snapping his head upward, all he saw was a blinding light, and the next second, a lightning bolt the size of a tree trunk crashed directly in front of him, scattering sparks of electricity all around.
Orion was stunned when Fenrir unfolded himself from the depths of the lightning, his eyes glowing a furious white with two intensely bright lightning bolts crackling in his hands.
Unhesitatingly, the mage thrust the bolts forward with all his might.
Orion’s gaze narrowed instantly as his feet moved to dodge.
Thalos quickly descended with a fluid thrust toward the beast warrior’s side with rapid velocity.
His scythes burst forward, clashing against the greatsword with all his might as the ground trembled beneath his weight.
Unfortunately, the searing bolts of lightning slammed into his side with crushing force and pain.
For a second, his scales wanted to resist as hard as they could.
Ki was rushing in that direction in order to push the bolts away, but the energy was unable to reach the spot in time.
Cracking sounds could be heard as Fenrir let go of the bolts and then dug his hands into his robe, pulling out a parchment which he immediately ignited with his mana and placed at the handle of the bolts before leaping away.
"Aerius!"
A huge gust of wind roared out, pushing the bolts forward with immense force.
Finally, Orion’s scales gave way as the bolts tore through his side, sending electrifying pain coursing through his body.
Due to the force of ’aerius’, the beast warrior was sent blasting backward with immense momentum.
The ordinary skip of his body cracked the battlefield until his form passed through a half-standing stall, and of course, it didn’t survive.
A trail of dark blood followed after the beast warrior as he crashed into the structure.
Digging his toes into the ground, Thalos lifted his hand backward, his greatsword humming with destructive energy as his eyes narrowed in the direction Orion’s body had gone flying.
With all his might, the gargoyle hauled the greatsword, sending it blazing forward with breakneck speed.
Within a single second, it clobbered into the spot where the beast warrior had been blasted, landing with a massive bang that kicked up a storm cloud almost immediately.
"...."
Fenrir was gearing up for another attack when all the hair on his body rose.
His eyes could only move to the side to catch Orion directly beside him.
The warrior’s flank was bleeding from a fresh wound as a furious glare was fixed entirely on the mage.
It was obvious the beast warrior had avoided Thalos’ blade before it even reached him, and now, he was directly beside Fenrir... out for blood and willing to take it no matter what.
