Chapter 1557: Chapter 1142: Conflict

"Although I can understand, isn’t there just too many Water Magic Wonders here?"

After acquiring the tenth Wonder, Ash finally couldn’t help but say, "We haven’t seen any other Wonders along the way, they’re all from the Water Technique Faction! Even if the water environment of the Deep Blue Hell is exceptionally favorable, it’s unlikely that there isn’t a single Wonder from other factions, right?"

Ash placed all the Wonders collected from the Deep Blue Hell at the bottom of the ocean in the Heavenly Kingdom of Souls, as it’s the best place to preserve these Water Magic Wonders. Although the harvest is good, none of them specialize in Water Magic, so collecting so many is of no use, and they can only be kept as decorations.

Of course, if they had enough time, they could learn the construction ideas of the Wonders by referencing them. The construction of Wonders is perhaps the most secretive knowledge in this world, unable to be spread or recorded, Mages who have stepped into the Divine Domain can only perceive the beauty of construction from the Wonders.

The Sword Maiden and others have also started constructing Wonders suitable for themselves. However, despite their talent which grants them a miraculous touch, there is still much room for improvement. Besides trial and error, referencing other Wonders is the best shortcut. Just like writing, talent may allow one to turn a phrase beautifully, but extensive reading of classic works can open up new ideas.

The problem is that what they lack the most now is time, Ash needs Wonders that can immediately improve combat power like swordsmanship, time, truth, soul, etc., but ended up encountering very few on this journey.

Death Mad retorted, "Why are there more Demigods in the second layer of Deep Blue Hell than the first layer of Desolate Hell, despite Deep Blue Hell being harder to survive?"

"Because there are more resources?"

"More precisely, it’s because of more Technique Spirit resources and the essence of knowledge," Death Mad explained, "Unlike Desolate Hell, Deep Blue Hell is full of Water Magic resources, so abundant that no power can monopolize them. Even a helpless Demigod can condense Water Magic Prison Wings within a few years."

"If you can survive the catastrophe each year, theoretically, you can keep condensing five layers of Prison Wings in Deep Blue Hell, and the speed is definitely not slow. But the low-intensity competitive environment in Deep Blue Hell results in the Demigods here having even lower combat levels than those in Desolate Hell. To reduce the intensity of the catastrophe, they often actively maintain the Prison Wings at the third layer."

Ash was a bit puzzled, "But aren’t they condensing Water Magic Prison Wings? There shouldn’t be that many Demigods specializing in Water Magic, right?"

Death Mad shook his head, "You’re looking at it from a mortal’s perspective... So what if they’re not specialized in Water Magic? They can change."

"They can simply dissolve the Prison Wings, although they’ll become the bottom of Hell, they’ll gain infinite time without catastrophe disruptions. Then, after spending a few decades or a century researching Water Magic to the Divine Domain, it’s entirely possible to transform into a Water Magic Demigod."

"Actually it’s not that exaggerated, they don’t need to dissolve the wings nor take decades. In the environment like Deep Blue Hell, Demigod Mages often advance Water Magic to the Legendary rank in just ten years, it’s generally sufficient."

Ash blinked, "Changing your primary Magic for adapting to the environment?"

"Otherwise?" Death Mad slapped his head, "Do you think other Demigods live indulgent lives like you? Remember, in the eyes of the Void Realm, Demigods are just a bunch of shameless thieves. Each year’s catastrophe is the Void Realm trying to cleanse the pests in Hell, Demigods gain eternal life, but the price is living in constant fear every year, hanging on by a thread."

Ash was shocked, "Really?"

"Of course—"

"Am I already living indulgently now?" Ash looked troubled, "But everyone seeks more advanced excitement. I’ve been thinking of new interactive projects these days..."

Seeing Death Mad raising her hand, he quickly slipped away.

"Next is the Silence Palace among the four great palaces of Deep Blue, and then the Gui Ming Palace." Death Mad said, "There should be a ’Torrent’ Wonder in the Silence Palace, paired with ’Water Moon,’ it can significantly enhance Sonia’s combat power and help her break through the threshold of her Realm. If you conduct Divine Might training with her regularly, her swordsmanship can improve even faster."

"Understood." Ash said, "This way, the Sword Maiden will definitely be the top in training every day... Oh? Is this the reason you’re giving special attention to the Sword Maiden?"

Death Mad glanced coldly at him, "Yes, I hope she improves quickly and soon draws her sword to kill you, little loudmouth. That way, the Observer can’t be resurrected, you will die miserably, and two grievances will be settled. There’s no more profitable deal than this."

Ash grinned sheepishly and pondered, "I need to think about compensating them..." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"Compensate?" Death Mad raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, although I don’t expect absolute fairness, this time bringing back two ’Death Mad recommended’ Wonders significantly tilted the cultivation resources towards the Sword Maiden." Ash shrugged, "I can’t change what Wonders we acquire, but I have to show my attitude. Since the cultivation resources are tilted towards the Sword Maiden this time, I will compensate others in other ways to avoid causing resentment—"

"Completely unnecessary," Death Mad said calmly, "Isn’t it natural for you to favor Sonia?"

Ash nodded, "Yes, but that doesn’t mean I’ll ignore others’ feelings."

"Then have you considered Sonia’s feelings?" Death Mad said, "Her vanity hasn’t disappeared, it’s just transferred to you—nothing makes her heart race more than your special treatment. This time you could make Sonia happy, why do you insist on telling her she won’t receive more favoritism than other girls?"

Ash replied, "Not all happiness requires harming others—"

Death Mad pressed aggressively, "So you choose to harm her?"

Ash took a deep breath and waved his hand, "We don’t need to discuss this topic."

The following journey was silent and short, they quickly arrived at the Silence Palace established on an underwater volcano, and Death Mad circled around the palace, her face becoming incredibly unhappy.

"Where’s the ’Torrent’ Wonder?" she said, "I’m here to seize this Wonder in the Silence Palace; it can’t possibly be absent."

"Maybe it was moved," Ash speculated, "Or perhaps the ’Torrent’ wasn’t built during this timeframe—your entry into Hell should be a few years later than ours, perhaps it was during those years the Silence Palace built the ’Torrent’ Wonder."

"It’s somewhat regrettable, but there’s no choice."

Ash’s tone was flat, but to Death Mad’s ears it became extremely irritating, especially after the recent argument, Death Mad felt as though even his punctuation was mocking her.

There were still two Wonders in the Silence Palace, namely ’Continuous Showers’ and ’Silent Rain.’ The former is a wide-range Water Magic damage Wonder. However, the latter brightened Ash’s eyes—’Silent Rain’ is a support-type Wonder that grants attacks the effect of penetrating Laws, meaning that the harder the attack is to detect, under the enhancement of ’Silent Rain,’ it can further slip through the enemy’s defense, silently infiltrating the enemy’s soul body!

The Sword Maiden and Witch are both stunningly explosive and fierce attackers, ’Silent Rain’ doesn’t significantly enhance them. Instead, Vishi’s sinister and treacherous fighting style suits it better!

Death Mad leaned against the wall of the Crystal Palace, glanced at Ash with a gleam of joy in her eyes, suddenly raised her finger pointing upwards, saying: "The bright spot in the rain cloud."

Ash looked up, seeing a point of faint white light within the lead gray rain cloud, "What’s the matter?"

"Use any method, just touch that bright spot."

Ash, not suspecting a thing, flicked a Sword Light with his finger, touching the bright spot in the rain cloud instantaneously.

Pa.

With a thunderous sound, the rain cloud shattered into hundreds of Technique Spirits falling down, and the drizzle quietly ceased. Ash stared blankly at the scene, and after a while only realized what had just happened—the ’Silent Rain’ Wonder had collapsed.

He slowly turned to look at Death Mad, who was still indifferently shaking off ashes, revealing her arrogance and indifference with every gesture.

She raised her eyebrows to meet Ash’s gaze, eyes blood-red without any hint of apology, only sharp hostility nearly blinding. Ash always forgets, accompanying him to explore Hell is not a trustworthy companion but the Death Mad Sword Demon who acts entirely out of personal likes and dislikes.

Without saying a word, he collected the Technique Spirits of ’Silent Rain’ Wonder, thoroughly scouring hidden materials in the Silence Palace.

And never spoke with Death Mad again.
