If it were said that Vishi hadn’t felt affection for anyone over these past millennia, it would surely be false. Ash’s perception of Vishi before losing his memory was quite accurate; Vishi may seem cold and brutal, but her emotions are richer and more abundant than anyone else’s. It is this passion that enables her to pursue unattainable dreams tirelessly, day after day, year after year.

Those who are truly indifferent cannot experience such tumultuous emotions.

Throughout her long life, Vishi has consistently maintained the violent image of the Ghost Prophet, yet there are quite a few people, both men and women, who still desire to approach her.

Those who adore her fall into two categories: the first category knows who she is and likes her, but they are usually wicked Evil Mages like her, the only ones who wouldn’t care about Vishi’s brutality. They see Vishi as a precious spoil, or wish to unite with her through marriage to pursue higher levels of sin, or simply admire Vishi’s actions. But regardless of the reason, Vishi has no interest.

She is quite hypocritical. Although she herself is base and shameless, she dislikes others who are base and shameless. Even if she herself is a murderer, she wouldn’t like other murderers.

The second type are those who initially don’t know who she is—Vishi often travels around incognito—and they fall for the mask of disguise she presents. Sometimes Vishi does feel affection for these admirers, though some cannot accept her true nature after discovering it, while others, after a mental struggle, are willing to follow her to the ends of the earth.

For those who cannot accept her, it goes without saying, she might even retaliate against them. But would Vishi be willing to give those admirers who accept her a chance?

No.

Because Vishi knows very well that she is drawn to their good qualities, and when these people are willing to abandon their principles to follow her, it means that those good qualities are about to be tainted and corrupted.

If someone can remain unfazed watching Vishi slaughter others, then in Vishi’s eyes, all their qualities will become dim and drown among the masses.

Vishi has wandered alone for a millennium not without reason. She knows how peculiar she is: obviously unable to change her cruel and ruthless ways, yet she despises those able to accept her ways, while those unable to accept her ways won’t accept her.

Only a Miracle might bring forward someone she could accept.

But Vishi doesn’t care; she long has ceased to concern herself with emotional needs. As long as she can reach the Supreme pinnacle, anything can be offered up at the altar.

She wandered through two lifetimes, thousands of years, stumbled into a third rebirth, and then... she encountered a Miracle.

Ash controlled her with ruby chains, binding her to his side, unwilling to let go or to use her, treating her like a prisoner under watchful care. He loathes slaughter, detests cruelty, ready to sacrifice everything for others, his moral integrity shining like the Star Cluster...

Predictably, Vishi was wary and dissatisfied with him. She wasn’t surprised; after all, Ash’s little girlfriend (Silver Lamp) had a death she contributed to causing, it would be odd if Ash didn’t dislike her.

She had long prepared to be humiliated by Ash, yet throughout, Ash never disrespected her dignity, at most punishing her for insolence. During the Angel Hunt, he never used Vishi as cannon fodder and even saved her from danger countless times. On the surface, Vishi mocked Ash’s foolishness, but inside, an inexplicable affection stirred.

But as easily as she feels such affection, she can suppress it.

How could the Ghost Prophet accept herself as someone else’s captive?

The turning point was the Demigod Promotion Ceremony. While Vishi possesses the capability to love, she wouldn’t allow herself to fall for anyone before reaching the Supreme pinnacle. Yet in the dream of the ceremony, she dreamt of herself finally holding supreme authority, and thus opened her heart, wholeheartedly liking someone for the first time in her life.

However, Vishi does not think it’s too serious, treating it as an interesting experience. Until later, after multiple contacts with Ash, she gradually found herself changed.

In front of Ash, her heart couldn’t be kept calm; she would easily get angry, easily embarrassed, intimate interactions with Ash would make her heart race... But she is the millennium Demigod Ghost Prophet!

Initially, she thought it was because Ash was the most likely Mage to achieve eternity, an ideal companion, hence she liked him... But she also told Ash this, and it indeed sounded very reasonable.

But as the dealings went on, Vishi discovered the real heartbeat was that Ash disliked the Ghost Prophet but liked the Demon Maid.

In terms of behavior style, Vishi and Ash were absolutely opposing ends, logically they would never come together, even if united would quickly diverge. However, the ruby chains bound Vishi, preventing her from leaving Ash, even requiring her adherence to his will.

Ash didn’t accept her ways, but only accepted her as a person; she couldn’t leave Ash, yet constantly accepted his restraints, even if they liked each other, they had to feign pretense... While Vishi would never admit it, this twisted and bizarre dependent relationship was precisely the Miracle suited for her.

Certainly, if given the chance, Vishi would definitely break free from the chains with no hesitation.

But until then... there’s nothing she can do about falling.

For the first time liking someone, the surging emotions released by that never-before-opened heart utterly submerged the Ghost Prophet’s rationality, shattered the millennium Demigod’s pride.
