Su Zhenxiong’s face turned somewhat unsightly, but with Shi Aoju present, he could only endure and said, "You don’t have to work at my company, but you must live at home. That way, I won’t interfere even if you continue as a servant."

Su Jiuyi didn’t feel he was making a concession; every word he said seemed perfectly reasonable, as if he were truly being a responsible father.

"I still say, you have no right to dictate my life." She said.

"Su Jiuyi, don’t be too excessive. Your father’s doing this for your own good, not to harm you." Zhao Shuya spoke up indignantly, "Before, you worked at the nightclub, fine. Su Zhenxiong didn’t stop Zhao Shuya; his silence equaled agreement with her words, so she became even more aggressive: "I consider myself not to have treated you poorly, but what you’re doing is telling everyone that I, as the stepmother, am harsh and bad to you, wanting to drive you out of the Su Family."

From the moment she entered the Su Family, Zhao Shuya had tried every means to ostracize her, oppose her at every turn, and even conspired with the servants to bully her. This was supposedly treating her well.

"Thank you." Su Jiuyi said with a smile, "Thank you for not treating me poorly, thank you for letting me see a lot of things clearly, such as human nature. People with hearts like vipers always seem harmless on the surface, and when you think they’re not going to hurt you, they’ll deal the most fatal blow."

"Su Jiuyi." Su Zhenxiong’s voice turned stern, "Watch your mouth."

On hearing his words, Su Jiuyi looked at him, her smile taking on a bitter edge. This was her father, her biological father, still unwilling to stand by her even now, still defending Zhao Shuya.

This home, she had no reason to stay anymore.

Seeing Su Jiuyi like this, Shi Aoju’s gaze gradually grew colder. He swept Zhao Shuya a glance, then placed his sight on Su Zhenxiong.

"Keep your woman in check. If I see her behaving towards my woman like this again, I can’t guarantee she’ll be alive tomorrow here."

Shi Aoju spoke, his voice icy to the extreme. In an instant, he seemed to transform into a devil emerging from Hell, every inch of him emanating dangerous hostility.

Su Zhenxiong thought Shi Aoju would show him some face, at least not turn against him in front of Zhao Shuya and Su Jiuyi. Yet he miscalculated; he didn’t expect Shi Aoju to be so unsparing.

He knew very well what kind of person Shi Aoju was: always ruthless and decisive. Saying this was no joke, so he smiled placatingly, "Young Master Jue, you’re magnanimous, don’t stoop to a woman’s level." Saying this, he gave Zhao Shuya a look, motioning her to quickly step aside.

Zhao Shuya observed Shi Aoju’s expression, found it dark and realized his mood indeed seemed really bad, so she obliged, standing up and heading upstairs.
