Lord Shadow
Chapter 2050: Family
Yes, that is the first thing she felt...fear
If anyone else in the world is corrupted, then while it is a problem, there is people to stop them
Depending on who it is, the damage would either be small or big
But if its Death Monarch that is corrupted, then the damage that he could inflict upon the world, the kind of pain he could inflict upon the world would be massive.
More than she was angered, she was fearful
Fearful that Azief truly had gone down the deep end.
And she wonders how could she brings him back to the front.
How could she pull him back from that edge?
And if she could not....then how do the world stopped a tyrannical crazy god?
For weeks she had pondered many methods.
She even wanted to contact Sofia.
But Sofia whereabouts is unknown.
Some said she is in the Untainted Land.
Some said she is already out from the Untainted Land and is sailing the seas.
And while she has her Acolytes feeding her news of the outside world, it did not mean she has full surveillance of the world.
Where there is civilization and where there is Alchemist Tower, there would be her acolytes.
But the world is vast and not everywhere has an Alchemist tower.
If Sofia is operating at some parts of the world that could not be traversed or a place where there is no cities or kingdoms, a place where the influence of the Seven World Powers could not reach, Sina could not know her whereabouts in such a location
But now, the situation changed after hearing Azief reason
However, now that she had learned Azief wanted to resurrect and potentially breakthrough to Sovereign realm....she instead feel worries.
The fact that Azief had always planned to rescuer the dead, means he also did not want these people to die.
It means that if he did not have this ability to resurrect, he probably would not go through with his plans of inciting the people to go to war.
But after knowing he wanted to resurrect, there is a different worry in her heart.
Sina who had stand up from her seat once again sit back on her rattan chair. And then she closed her eyes and lean back on the chair, sighing.
She knew whatever she had to say would not change what Azief wanted to do. He is as stubborn as an ox.
So, for a moment there is only silence and the sound of the tea spoon being stirred clanging when it touches the edges of the cup
And then Sina opens her eyes and then sit up straight. She no longer sighed. Instead, she ask
"Are you confident?"
Azief shakes his head. Seeing this Sina frowned.
"Then why are you doing this?" Azief wanted to say something but then he halted his tongue from saying anything more
Instead, he said
"I wanted to confirm something. There is something that I have learned"
He paused again
"Those who reached Sovereign realm all have different kind of tribulations. But..." Azief was about to say it again but then he shakes his head
There is something he wanted to say but he did not want to burden Sina.
"Why? Is it something that would be detrimental to me and you could not say?" Sina could now even guess what Azief is thinking just by looking at the way he acted
Azief nodded
"This information involve many cause and effect. I don’t want you to get entangled into it...now. Someday....someday...you would probably be entangled into this matter whether you wanted to or not. But at least, I could delay it as much as I could. At that time...." Azief sighed with a bitter smile on his face
"Maybe at that time you would understand me. And you would not berate me this harshly"
Azief then chuckles.
There is a feeling of helplessness in that chuckle.
He wanted to laugh...but he doesn’t know what so funny about it.
Judging from what he knew, those who are closest to him are already in the cause and effect.
The words that Erika said to her before....all of the things that happened even before then, all of the bonds and connection he had all of them would be dragged in it whether they wanted to or not
The battle he was about to face in the far away future is a battle that would be fought by all the Omniverse.
This is something he had already confirmed.
So, there is no escaping it.
Knowing this did not make him feel despair.
Instead, it relieved him.
There are many things he did not dare say and there is many secrets he holds
But the thing about secret is, the more you hold it, the more you keep it, the heavier it becomes.
Azief always fears things he would say, or thing he would do would affect the people closest to him in a way that is detrimental to them
No wonder, some enlightened monk would rather not talk at all. The cause and effect is terrifying. But after knowing there is no escape, it was like certain shackle in his heart was released.
"I am worried’ Sina suddenly said and this cut off any thought that Azief had.
Azief smiles and look at Sina and spoke
"I would not die, Sina"
"you sure?"
Azief thought for a moment and then he smiles
He nodded his head
"I am sure of it. There is many things that do not want me to die"
He could not help but chuckle when he said these words.
He knows there are many beings that did not want him to die.
And even some concept and intangible things in the Omniverse that doesn’t want him to die
Fate and destiny particularly might not want him to die.
At least not this early.
Fate and destiny is all about timing
Azief does not want to rely on fate and destiny.
But at the same time, he had also learned, that fate and destiny, is not really trying to get at him.
They are following the rules and laws.
Of course, they bend the rules and laws as they wanted but it is because he strayed from the real trajectory.
It is only within the right or to be more accurate, the job of fate and destiny to bring him back to the right track.
Destiny and fate does not look at mortal lives and debated whether it is pitiful or not.
It did not debated whether it is right or wrong based on the feelings of the creatures
They based it simply on what should be and what shouldn’t be.
And what should be is following the rules and laws.
Destiny and fate is heartless because they do not have heart.
They are the system of rules and laws imposed on every living and unliving things.
From the journey of a stone to the journey of a grass, to the journey of ants, to the journey of a bird, everything has its fate and destiny
The higher the intelligence, the more powerful the beings, the higher their chances of breaking through fate and destiny.
It did not mean fate and destiny hinder progress.
At times, those so-called progress and advancements that people think defying fate like creating penicillin, insulin, creating airplanes and creating cars and all of these advancements in medicine, science, culture...are all fated.
Fate and destiny are the projection of a possible future. But in the hands of fates and destiny, the so-called projection of the future is infallible.
Whether people know it or not their actions and inaction shaped destiny and fate. The projection of the future is based on the past action. Hence there is cause and effect.
A stone stuck in one particular place a thousand years ago could become someone else foil a thousand year later.
A seed of a grass a thousand year ago could create a forest a thousand year later.
Hence, when something broke down in this infallible system......fate and destiny would try to bring it back under control
And Azief knows he had gone so far away from the projected future that Wargod, Odin and the Divine Sage, all met him
Because they too wanted to break through from the future that is decreed on them. Azief always views ate and destiny like an adversary of his.
This view did not change.
Instead, it solidified the more he knew about cause and effect and the more he deduce about his own future
But Wargod had told him, do not treat fate and destiny like your friend.
But don’t view it as an enemy either.
Whether it is a friend or an enemy it depends a lot on the circumstance.
Azief is thinking all of this while Sina look at Azief calm face.
And she did not know what to say. she really did not know what to say.
She sighed again.
Sina had to accept Azief words at face value.
Because the alternative is the death of a friend, the death of a family.
And she could not accept that.
She had lost many friends.
But one thing that has been constant for her all of these years, and the one thing that had keep her sanity is this newfound family she made for herself.
She could feel at ease having Azief as her family.
One of the things she hated the most is being left alone.
She could accept being abandoned.
She could even accept people going away.
But she could not accept her family dying in pain.
..
