Living Only For Myself: Make Those Who Hate Me Regret It
Chapter 354 - 353: Don’t Be Jealous of Yourself
Zhou Mochen’s introductions were casual. After they got acquainted, a few of them started a card game.
When it came to drinking games like this, Xu Su was the type who was terrible at them but loved to play anyway.
She also had no self-control when she drank. The moment Zhou Mochen wasn’t looking, she’d already downed a bottle of red wine, and a second bottle was half-empty.
And that was with other people helping her drink.
By the time he noticed, Xu Su was already getting tipsy.
Snatching the glass she was about to drink from, Zhou Mochen’s expression darkened. "That’s enough. Drink less!"
Seeing her hands were now empty, Xu Su grew upset. "Zhou Mochen! Didn’t you promise you wouldn’t tell me how much to drink anymore? You’re right here, so what if I get drunk? What’s the big deal!"
Shen Chen, who was sitting across from them and had seen the whole exchange, clicked his tongue. "You look so quiet and gentle. Who would’ve thought you like drinking so much." 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"You don’t know I like to drink?" Xu Su’s words were starting to slur. "You even said that once I graduated and came to Beijing, you’d show me the high life and let me drink my fill. Shen Chen, you’d better not go back on your word."
Shen Chen froze. "Is she really drunk?"
’She can’t even tell who’s in front of her anymore.’
However... "I didn’t expect I was actually that good to you."
’He couldn’t quite believe it. That his other self, from another world, would be so good to Brother Zhou’s girlfriend...’
’But if it was her, he could almost understand why.’
Shen Chen’s expression grew complex.
Zhou Mochen shot Shen Chen a cool, indifferent glance before expressionlessly turning Xu Su’s chin toward him, preventing her from looking at anyone else.
He lowered his gaze to her flushed, drunken face and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"
Xu Su blinked. "Zhou Mochen, you look different."
"Oh?" After a slight pause, Zhou Mochen let out a slow chuckle. "Do you like the way I look now?"
"I do!" Xu Su lifted her head and pecked him on the cheek. "I like you no matter what you look like!"
The onlookers: "..."
Zhou Mochen didn’t care in the slightest what anyone else thought. He touched the spot she had just kissed and coaxed in a low voice, "Then, Susu, is there anyone else you like?"
’I can’t get an answer out of her when she’s sober. Now that she’s drunk, her guard can’t be that high, can it?’
The moment he asked, even Shen Chen, who was sitting opposite them, looked over.
Of course, Xu Su’s guard was down. The red wine packed a punch, and she was so dizzy that the Zhou Mochen in front of her was starting to look like a double image.
After hearing Zhou Mochen’s question, she thought long and hard before slowly shaking her head. "Liking you is enough for me. I don’t want anyone else. But... don’t bully me anymore, or I’ll really start to be afraid of you."
"Bully?" Zhou Mochen’s joy was cut short, and he was utterly baffled by her words. "How could I ever bear to bully you?"
"You..." Xu Su cupped his face and stared at him intently for a moment before declaring, "You’re an old pervert!"
The onlookers: "..."
None of them were naive kids; they all felt that statement was loaded with information.
A series of coughs immediately followed. A few of the eavesdroppers still had wine in their mouths and choked, their faces turning red.
Completely oblivious to her surroundings, Xu Su suddenly gasped, her eyes widening. "I misspoke! I shouldn’t have said ’old.’ You’re not old, Zhou Mochen. Please don’t be angry again."
"...I’m not angry." Of course, the eighteen-year-old boy wasn’t angry about the word "old." He was angry about the implication of the statement itself.
’Just how did that man bully her?!’
Gritting his teeth, Zhou Mochen swept the drunken, babbling Xu Su into his arms. He tossed a quick "We’re heading back," to his friends, who were thoroughly enjoying the drama, and left with her.
Since he’d been drinking and was now carrying her, a worried Shen Chen personally walked them to the main entrance, where the Zhou family’s driver was already waiting.
Long after the car had driven off and disappeared from sight, Shen Chen remained standing there, lost in thought.
Meanwhile, inside the car, Xu Su was about to raise hell.
She had just been carried into the car when her brain, which had all but shut down, suddenly rebooted. Her gaze followed the dim yellow streetlights to the young man beside her, her eyes shining with an unnerving brightness in the dark car.
Startled by her intense gaze, Zhou Mochen was about to speak when the alcohol-emboldened woman suddenly sealed his lips with her own.
After kissing him for a moment with her head tilted back, Xu Su seemed unsatisfied. She hooked an arm around his neck, pulling him lower, then lifted her leg and straddled his lap before wrapping her arms around him to continue the kiss.
Her hand had already slipped under the hem of his shirt.
Just as things were about to get R-rated, the last shred of reason in Zhou Mochen’s mind managed to remind him to raise the car’s privacy partition.
Xu Su’s hand was already caressing the young man’s lean, powerful waist...
As the temperature inside the car climbed, Xu Su suddenly frowned and pulled her head away from the boy’s fiery kiss. Puzzled, she asked, "How come you seem a little thinner?"
’Your shoulders aren’t as broad anymore...’
"..." Zhou Mochen took a deep breath. With a trembling hand, he gripped her lower back while his other hand lifted her chin. He gave her a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "Take a good look. Who am I?"
"You’re Zhou Mochen!" Xu Su said. "I’m not blind..."
"Then how old am I?" Zhou Mochen gritted his teeth, glaring at the drunk girl, completely at a loss for what to do with her.
His expression made Xu Su blink. "Oh," she said. "You’re the eighteen-year-old Zhou Mochen."
Her antics had completely drained him of his anger. "Sober now?"
"Mhm!" Xu Su nodded emphatically, not forgetting to soothe him. "No matter how old you are, you’re still my Zhou Mochen. Can you please not be jealous of yourself?"
"So you knew I’d be jealous." Brimming with a jealousy he couldn’t vent, Zhou Mochen simply gripped her chin and kissed her again.
Xu Su obediently wrapped her arms around his neck, the affection in her heart practically overflowing and bubbling up with joy.
The kiss didn’t stop until they reached his house.
When she got out of the car, the cool autumn breeze hit Xu Su’s groggy mind, sobering her up considerably.
When she realized what she had just done, her instinct to bury her head in the sand kicked in. Face burning red, she didn’t dare to look up and just bolted up the stairs toward the bedroom.
Zhou Mochen was confused by her sudden change. Afraid she might fall, he hurried after her, not forgetting to ask the on-duty housekeeper to make some sobriety soup.
Xu Su headed for the master bedroom as if she knew the way by heart. Just as she was about to shut the door, Zhou Mochen pushed it open and slipped inside.
"What are you doing?" Xu Su glared. "I’m going to wash up and go to sleep. What are you doing in here?"
Leaning against the door, Zhou Mochen watched her quietly and said with a smile, "You don’t know why I came in?"
’I...’
"No!" Xu Su said, her lips trembling. "Either you find another room, or I will. But this isn’t happening!"
"This is my house, and you’re my girlfriend. Why not?" Zhou Mochen’s expression softened, as if he were being perfectly reasonable. "I certainly didn’t say no when you were kissing me."
