Chapter 1395: This Graveyard Is Just Right for Your Burial
North of Sin City, Chaotic Burial Ground.
Sin City doesn't have a Chaotic Burial Ground, because burning, killing, and looting happen everywhere. Once someone dies, bodies are left where they fall, left to nature to deal with, and no one bothers to bury the corpses or send them to a burial ground.
Thus, Chaotic Burial Ground is merely a name; perhaps long ago, it was a true cemetery in Sin City.
Though it's daytime, due to the city's unique environment, the sky is gray and the sun remains unseen. Coupled with the ruins of this place, with only withered flora and stones, it appears desolate, void of life, evoking a sense of bleakness.
The wind howls like ghosts wailing and wolves howling.
A shadow suddenly flashes by swiftly; landing, it cautiously scans the surroundings before quickly entering the ruins ahead, arriving at a crumbling hall and coughing softly before stepping inside.
This hall has long been abandoned; the dust is an inch thick. As the figure steps, dust swirls around.
Inside the hall, there are a few others.
One sits cross-legged under a stone pillar, cultivating, missing an arm and pale-skinned. This person is Yin Xiyuan.
Not far from Yin Xiyuan, a figure lies in dust, face ashen-like death. If not for the faint sound of breathing, one would think it was a corpse. This person is the heavily wounded Old Scallywag, captured by the Sword Sect's people, left untreated, hanging by a thread.
The remaining few have strong auras, sharp eyes, guarding Yin Xiyuan.
The newcomer swiftly steps forward, carrying packaged food.
Hearing the sound, Yin Xiyuan slowly opens his eyes, gaze fierce, and looks at the newcomer, "Long Dong, no one's following, right?"
"Second Elder, don't worry, I was very careful all the way. I brought some food, everyone can eat some."
Long Dong says this, but feels somewhat disdainful. With his cultivation, who can track him?
Yin Xiyuan's gaze darkens, "Do you think I'm being too cautious?"
Long Dong hurriedly replies, "I wouldn't dare."
Yin Xiyuan snorts coldly, "Don't forget, Qin Yi is still alive."
Long Dong's expression changes slightly.
Yin Xiyuan continues, "Did you hear anything about Qin Yi this time out?"
Long Dong slightly shakes his head, "Second Elder, this old thing is so gravely wounded, Qin Yi's injuries are heavier; maybe he's already dead somewhere unknown."
Yin Xiyuan is silent for a moment, looks at his lost arm, face gloomy, says sternly, "If he's dead, that's for the best. If not, I must find him and tear him apart. But I must admit, this kid is too monstrous; I have a feeling he won't die, so everyone should still be cautious."
"Yes."
The group responds.
Long Dong distributes the food he brought, and they eat silently.
Long Dong looks at Old Scallywag, "Second Elder, why keep this burden? Why not just kill him? If not for this old thing, how would you have lost an arm."
The others also look at Second Elder, puzzled by why he carries this burden.
Yin Xiyuan glances at Old Scallywag, "You have seen this old thing's cultivation, unfathomable. I suspect his identity isn't simple. He might be the master of Sin City."
The others are shocked; Sin City's master?
Yin Xiyuan says, "I've been fortunate to receive the Sect Master's guidance; this person's cultivation nearly matches the Sect Master's."
The group is further shocked.
"Second Elder, if this man is truly so formidable, why was he heavily injured by Qin Yi?"
Yin Xiyuan responds, "That's something I don't understand either. Qin Yi's cultivation is strong, but far off from this man. Yet he could severely injure this old thing, proving Qin Yi's monstrosity. I suspect Qin Yi must have used some incredible trump card to hurt him."
"Never mind, once I recover, I'll take him back to the Sword Sect for a slow interrogation; all will be revealed. If he is indeed Sin City's master, taking over Sin City won't be a problem. If not, we simply kill him."
The group nods slightly.
Suddenly, several light screens rise around Old Scallywag, forming a cage, enclosing him.
Yin Xiyuan and the others' expressions change.
At the same time, Yin Xiyuan, sitting cross-legged, suddenly shifts several meters away.
"Pff!"
The stone pillar he was leaning against is pierced by a Purple Light.
Luckily, he moved quickly, or the Purple Light would have pierced his body.
"Who is it? Come out!" Long Dong throws the food aside, yelling angrily, shaking the dust from the hall.
"Lucky dog, still alive after all this."
A lazy voice comes from behind the stone pillar, soon a figure walks out from behind it.
Yin Xiyuan and the others widen their eyes, unable to forget this face even in death.
"Qin Yi." Yin Xiyuan grits his teeth, seeing Qin Yi reminds him of the grudge from his lost arm, causing his nearly healed wound to ache again.
Qin Yi smirks, "It feels like ages though it's merely been a day; how is everyone?"
This hall is drafty, with numerous holes in the dome. Qin Yi noticed Long Dong when he arrived in North City, followed quietly, and used some tricks to let Xiaoye sleep, placing her safely under the Array's protection.
Then, Qin Yi himself sneaked in through the dome's hole, launching a surprise attack; unexpectedly, though Yin Xiyuan lost an arm, his combat ability severely decreased, his reactions were still swift, true to someone cultivating spiritual power.
Seeing Qin Yi, Yin Xiyuan's new and old hatred causes his eyes to flare, "How did you find us?"
Qin Yi glances at Long Dong with a slight smile, "Guess."
Everyone instinctively looks at Long Dong; only he has gone out. Qin Yi found their hiding spot precisely by tracking Long Dong.
Long Dong feels disgraced, having thought no one could follow him, now slapped right in the face.
Yin Xiyuan keeps a fixed gaze on Qin Yi; that day, he saw Qin Yi escape badly injured. He sent people to chase but didn't catch him. To his surprise, in less than a day, Qin Yi appears lively again; what kind of monster is he?
He then looks at the caged Old Scallywag, turns to Qin Yi, questions with mild confusion, "You're here to rescue him?"
Qin Yi smiles slightly, "Not entirely, saving him is a byproduct; I'm mostly here to kill you all."
Yin Xiyuan's gaze sharpens, retorts fiercely, "Qin Yi, we avoid you, yet you dare show yourself. Who lives or dies today is uncertain."
Qin Yi's eyes are indifferent, "Had you dared to come after me, you wouldn't be hiding away in this place. Rest assured, today it's your lot that undoubtedly dies. You picked an appropriate place, this Chaotic Burial Ground, perfect for burying you."
