Jilted by Day, Cuddled At Night
Chapter 185: Pampering Commander Gu
Commander Gu’s residence, Underground Mecha Training Room. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The towering and imposing mecha, in the simulation training field, mercilessly obliterated those virtual Insect Clan members.
This was an environment similar to the simulated Barren Star.
The Insect Clan was, of course, virtual too; when struck, they would simply disappear.
Even though these Insect Clan members weren’t real, Commander Gu still fought them without holding back.
And just after this round of virtual Insect Clan members had been wiped out, before the next wave had even begun,
suddenly, a deep red mecha entered Gu Jue’s field of vision!
The opponent raised a giant lightsaber and swung it toward Azure Dragon!
Azure Dragon immediately dodged.
Previously, when Su Wan had controlled Vermilion Bird for training, Azure Dragon had been her sparring partner.
The black and the red mecha fought fiercely and energetically.
But Su Wan knew that Gu Jue had been letting her win. It was unavoidable.
If Gu Jue and Azure Dragon had gone full force, she estimated that she and Vermilion Bird would be knocked out within three minutes.
And several minutes later, a large number of virtual Insect Clan members appeared again.
The two mechas went to destroy the virtual Insect Clan separately once more.
After several battles had ended, the two people put away their mechas and walked out of the simulation training field.
Gu Jue looked at Su Wan, whose bangs were wet from sweat, and picked up a white towel.
Su Wan thought he was going to hand it to her.
But... The great Commander Gu stretched out his long arm and tenderly wiped the sweat from her forehead.
These beautiful and good-looking hands, which had just been operating a mecha to kill virtual Insect Clan members, were now very gentle,
as if they were polishing some rare and precious treasure.
Even though the two of them had been more intimate before, this small gesture of wiping sweat made Su Wan’s heart flutter slightly.
Gu Jue naturally finished wiping the sweat from his little darling wife, "Wanwan, didn’t you go shopping with your mother today? You were running around, very tiring, why did you want to practice controlling the mecha?"
"Isn’t the mecha contest final coming up?"
"Oh."
Seeing that the great Commander actually believed her, Su Wan was a bit speechless, "That’s not the most important thing, the most important thing is that I wanted to spend time with Commander Gu. I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy lately, I’ve been neglecting you."
His cold and deep eyes slightly narrowed.
Gu Jue pursed his lips and immediately pulled his little darling wife into his arms and kissed her.
Su Wan responded passionately.
Hmm, Commander Gu, so easy to coax.
**
For Su Wan, although the exams were over, the mecha contest final was still underway.
Of course, none of this stopped her from making time to shop with her mother.
Lin Ranyue and Gu Lei had already registered their marriage on the lightbrain.
Their home, though not as large as Commander Gu’s residence, was a small two-story building with a sizable garden.
Lin Ranyue was planning to grow vegetables in the garden, and Su Wan was supportive of this.
She herself didn’t have the time, otherwise, Su Wan also liked to grow vegetables or raise some Dwarf Chickens when she was free.
When Gu Jue went to work at the military department during the day, Su Wan would go to see her mother Lin Ranyue to check what else the house needed, organizing and settling everything.
She had just entered, only to come upon Su Yun, as well as the couple Su Ni and Cecilia.
Not to mention anything else, even Su Wan couldn’t help but admire her eldest brother, Su Yun.
He really knew how to bend and stretch.
As for her second brother, Su Ni, he was still clueless, laughing his head off over something he’d said.
The moment he turned around and saw Su Wan’s meaningful smile, Su Ni immediately withdrew his own.
Then his expression became so awkward from holding back, it looked downright bizarre.
Su Wan ignored him and walked over to her mother, Lin Ranyue, and then, looking up, sweetly called out to Cecilia, "Sister-in-law."
Cecilia: "Xiaowan, you’re about six months pregnant now, right? You should be careful."
"Yes, I’ve been having regular checkups with doctors; the baby is very healthy."
Cecilia actually didn’t like children very much.
She cared more because she liked Su Wan, so she showed a little extra concern.
Su Ni, overhearing their conversation, suddenly looked at Cecilia’s stomach with anticipation.
Then... he received a fierce glare.
Cecilia didn’t want children, and although Su Ni really wanted to have a child with her, he cared more about Cecilia’s opinions.
After all, she was the one who would give birth.
Meanwhile, the neglected Su Yun cleared his throat to claim some attention.
Then he said to Lin Ranyue, "Mom, the wedding arrangements are being handled by the Imperial Ceremonial Department. There might be many important people attending on the day, right?"
Su Wan sat next to Lin Ranyue eating an orange, her mouth curving slightly at the corner.
Lin Ranyue was actually quite happy today with all three children around, but upon hearing her eldest son’s words, she didn’t know what to say.
"Xiaoyun, how are you doing in school?"
Su Yun: "The exam results haven’t come out yet."
Lin Ranyue: "I’m talking about the results from your previous exams. Actually, I’m also to blame; these past few years, I’ve neglected you a bit."
Well, it was true that Lin Ranyue had focused too much of her attention on Su Zhen before.
Eventually, the eldest son wasn’t around the house much; after growing up at the Beastman training center, he went off to school.
He became more and more distant from her and the home.
In the end, it led to what the situation was today.
Lin Ranyue thought to herself, she was, after all, a mother, and this child was, after all, born to her.
So sometimes, she still couldn’t help but feel soft-hearted.
Especially since her younger son and daughter had both started their own families, while her eldest son was still alone.
Su Yun looked down, "You’re only now thinking about my past grades."
"I overlooked you before, I’m sorry. But I asked about your grades because, if they are truly outstanding, then even if the first Starship Fleet isn’t recruiting this year, the job you find after graduation would still be the best among your classmates."
"Mom! You don’t understand anything! You don’t know my classmates; either they come from Military Families or ancient clans. Their job prospects will definitely be better than mine in the future!"
At this point, Su Yun looked at Su Wan with a trace of complaint.
He said, "Actually, if Xiaowan is willing to put in a word for me with the Commander, I wouldn’t have had to exert myself like this!"
The melon-munching Su Wan was at a loss for words.
"Su Yun, is there something seriously wrong with you? I’ve said it before; I never meddle in Commander Gu’s work matters. If you think you’re so excellent, then go and recommend yourself to him."
"I go to him, would he even bother with me? It’s obviously just a matter of one word from you! You’re my own sister, why can’t you help me with such a simple favor?"
Su Wan laughed, "Su Yun, ask yourself, what have you ever done for me as a brother?"
"Blood relation is not a universal pass!"
"Put yourself in others’ shoes, Su Yun. You’ve never done anything for anyone else, so what right do you have, what qualifications do you have, to expect other people to do this and that for you?"
"Su Zhen is my biological father, and if he does something wrong, I would give up on him just the same. What more if it’s you?"
