Chapter 46: Moonlight

(2 hours later...)

Yuelan’s fingertips were swollen from the rough climb up the mountain peak, and she was nearly at the top.

Bastard Lijun Fen made it look easy, but whenever I try to Swift Step up the mountain, I slide off... and I have nowhere near enough Void Qi to teleport to the top, Yuelan thought with a sigh and opened her status.

<★ Xiao Xuan - Sixth Level Spirit Warrior>

I’m pretty sure my stats are already double big brother’s. But knowing him, he’s probably going to catch up very soon. Yuelan whistled to herself, and with one final push, she arrived at the top of the mountain peak.

There was still some water in the Myriad Spirit Pond, but she was sure that by the end of the week, Lijun Fen would have brought it all back to the Azure Sky Sect.

Even so, Yuelan clenched her fists and walked to the very center of the mountain peak, and then she glanced up at the bright moon.

Almost as if it was one giant coincidence, today was a full moon, and because of that, the moonlight was especially bright.

Therefore, Yuelan didn’t waste any time and sat down, entering a lotus position.

She didn’t cultivate. Instead, she took a few deep breaths and put all her focus into her Dantian.

Spiritual Qi was swirling in a tranquil manner, though it was obvious that the Spiritual Qi was overflowing. That was because she hadn’t reached the next realm yet.

But beyond the Spiritual Qi that was on the outer level of her Dantian, she looked deeper, much deeper.

And after a few minutes had passed, she finally found what she had been looking for.

There was a small section in her lower abdomen that resembled a revolver cylinder.

There were six tiny circular marbles, and four of them were gray.

However, one of them was blue, while the other was a pale white.

Yuelan didn’t need to be a genius to figure out that the blue represented her Water Affinity, whilst the pale white represented her Moonlight Affinity.

So I can have six affinities in total...? That seems a little restrictive, Yuelan thought with a pout.

But knowing how cultivation worked, she was sure she could have more than six affinities, and for the time being, she planned on dealing with the affinities she currently had.

Therefore, she focused on the Moonlight Affinity, and in the next instant, she felt something appear in her hand.

She didn’t need to open her eyes to realize it was her sword, the same one she had gotten as a gift after defeating the warrior on the moon.

So this sword is what’s tying me to the Moonlight Affinity, huh? Alright... I guess if this sword ever comes to life, I’ll have to thank it.

Since she wasn’t sure how to go about it from this moment on, Yuelan simply put all her attention on the marble representing the Moonlight Affinity, and then she tried manipulating it.

At first, the Moonlight Affinity didn’t budge, but after a certain coldness enveloped her, the control seemed to improve drastically to the point where she was able to move it out of her inner Dantian and direct it toward her meridians.

The moment it left her inner Dantian, it was converted into Moonlight Qi, and by combining it with Spiritual Qi, Yuelan managed to envelop her sword in extremely powerful Elemental Qi that totaled a whopping 6,553 Elemental Qi.

Yuelan took a deep breath and stood up, maintaining this connection she felt with the Moonlight Affinity in her inner Dantian and the Elemental Qi in her sword.

And without opening her eyes, Yuelan swung at the sky.

There was no sound, nor even a single ripple of Qi in the air, but despite that, a certain sweetness soon filled Yuelan’s nose, distracting her for a moment.

She opened her eyes, and to her genuine surprise, her slash managed to leave an extremely thin white line that seemed to extend as far as the eye could see.

But after just a few seconds, that thin line faded.

However, that was only the start of the surprises, as the area on the mountain peak that had been touched by the thin white line suddenly cracked, and before she could react, a large chunk of the mountain peak was cut in two.

Yuelan panicked slightly and took a step back, avoiding the long fall that would’ve definitely not been enjoyable.

But despite the surprises, the connection Yuelan had with the Moonlight Affinity didn’t waver, and she even managed to maintain Elemental Qi on her sword.

So after calming down her surprise and finding the only part of the mountain peak that hadn’t been affected by her attack, she sat down to meditate.

Yuelan navigated into her inner Dantian, and unlike the previous revolver cylinder outline, there was now a bright white marble in the very center, surrounded by four gray marbles and one blue marble.

And before she could even begin to ponder what had just happened, her vision was assaulted by a wave of pop-ups.

<Ding!>

<You have successfully formed a connection with your natural Qi Affinity!>

Yuelan stared at the pop-ups with a smile.

It wasn’t as hard as I was expecting. She glanced at her glowing white sword. But I do have my trusty sword to thank for that.

Even so, she had finished with the important stuff, and now Yuelan was going to focus on dungeons and finishing her Spirit Master requirements so she could advance.

She rose from the ground and looked toward the distant mountains where she could feel a connection to Xuan.

"I wonder how big brother is doing...?"
