Chapter 265: Chapter 265: Another Misunderstanding

Silas stared at the gun on the table as if it had gone blank. Snatch his money? Take him hostage? The thoughts that had seemed so logical just a minute ago now felt incredibly suicidal.

If anything happened to someone related to an Ancient House in his territory, his entire bloodline, along with everyone in this factory, would be erased before sunrise.

After all, everyone had already seen what happened when someone related to the ancient house died. It caused an entire freaking war. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

It was only called a war because the target was another ancient house. But if he became the target, then could it even be called a war? It would be a massacre.

Moreover, could he even take this person down in the first place? If he was related to an Ancient House, then would he really be an ordinary human?

At the moment, Leo appeared like a poisonous snake that was coiling around him.

"Boss?" one of the guards called out. "What should we-"

"Shut up! Both of you, get out!" Silas roared, his voice filled with panic.

"But boss..."

"I said get out!"

The guards didn’t dare argue further. They scrambled out of the office, the heavy metal door closing shut behind them, leaving Silas entirely alone with the monster disguised as a merchant.

Silas swallowed hard. He carefully arranged his chair and slowly sat back down, keeping his hands flat on the table, far away from his own weapon.

"My... my lord," Silas began, his tone entirely stripped of its former arrogance. The word felt strange on his tongue, but survival instincts overrode his pride.

"I was completely unaware of your esteemed origins. If I had known, I never would have-"

"Save the apologies," Leo interrupted gently, though his eyes remained sharp. "I prefer to keep a low profile. That is why I am here, in the Lawless Zone, speaking to a local gang leader instead of having tea with the Lord of the Planet. Do you understand?"

"Crystal clear," Silas nodded rapidly. The gears in his head were spinning.

If the House of Necropolis was moving in secret, it meant a massive power play was happening in the shadows. And he had just been forcefully drafted into it.

He didn’t know what their aim was, and he didn’t want to know either. He knew that he couldn’t afford to know such a secret.

Leo tapped the table again, drawing Silas’s attention back to the present. "Now, to repeat my earlier question. I want to start a company right here. Are you going to snatch my money, or are we going to do business?"

"Business. Of course, business," Silas stammered, frantically wiping a bead of cold sweat from his forehead. "The factory is yours. The land, the warehouses, the underground bunkers, whatever you need. I will help you buy it, no matter how far I have to go!"

"Good. I pay for what I take," Leo stated, transferring a substantial sum to Silas’s account with a few taps on his comms unit.

Silas’s terminal lit up immediately, confirming a deposit that was vastly higher than market value.

No, it was not just high, but crazy high. It was as if Leo was simply throwing away money.

He wanted to remind Leo, but he chose to keep his mouth shut.

What surprised him was the account where the money came from. He knew about the initial numbers of each significant bank that could handle such a transaction, but none of those numbers matched.

In his eyes, Leo became even more mysterious.

"A new company needs local talent," Leo continued, leaning forward. "Hire as many people as you possibly can. There are no requirements. It doesn’t matter if they are uneducated, old, or criminals."

"As many as I can? Is there an upper limit?"

He was really curious as to what business Leo was planning, but he was also scared to ask about it.

"That’s right. Don’t think about saving money. Just hire as many as you can. As for the other details, I will send them to you at a later time."

Honestly, Leo didn’t care if this person hired the entire lawless zone. He had money to waste. What was he scared of?

Moreover, it wasn’t as if he really needed to save money. Now that the matters of Alpha Corp were settled, he had to create something that could burn money beyond his imagination.

The salary of staff, and the land acquisition cost were already high. But he also had a plan to make it even more unbearable.

He was going to start a business that would establish himself as the worst businessman ever, not repeating the mistake he did on earth.

Silas looked down at the black token of the Necropolis, and then back up at Leo’s unwavering gaze. He wasn’t stupid.

In the criminal underworld, walking away with a secret of this magnitude usually means walking straight into a shallow grave. Besides, the backing of a powerhouse like this? It was an opportunity to build his career.

Deep down, he had even started misunderstanding Leo’s intention. He thought that Leo was using this company to take over the underworld of this planet.

His goal was probably to hire every criminal in this world to organize the syndicate so that he could eventually overthrow the royal family.

The sheer ambition of this plan made the hair on Silas’ back stand up.

What was the Royal Family? It was the most powerful family of a high tier planet. Their emperor was even the current leader of the Galactic Union.

To overthrow the Royal Family and take over a high tier planet... This was massive. But was it really the end? Or was it the beginning of a terrifying scheme from Necropolis? The more he thought about it, the more amazed he became.

Silas slowly pushed his loaded gun across the table toward Leo, as a sign of submission in the Lawless Zone.

"When do we start, Boss?"
