Chapter 11: Fourth Wolf

"Two Thousand" Ken roared as he rose from the final squat, his entire body covered in sweat, but a smile remained on his face.

The sun had already peeped over the horizon, and its rays were beginning to light the day. It had been an eventful night of training, his body was pushed beyond every reasonable level. It got harder for him to gain strength, still he didn’t care, no matter how hard the workout got, he would go at it and get stronger.

He decided to pull up his system screen and see just how much he had gained now.

[Name: Ken]

[Race: Human]

[Mana: 10/10]

[EXP: 70/100]

[Strength: 60]

[Speed: 65]

[Stamina: 75]

[Impossible growth, Host is gaining strength too fast]

What surprised Ken was the fact that stamina was the one ahead, maybe it was due to the fact that stamina increased when he did certain exercises, it gained points from nearly all the workouts that he had done.

Ken clenched his fist tight, this type of growth was simply stunning. The issue now was that the workouts needed to increase his strength would dramatically increase, he would have to work multiple times harder and burn more time.

"Regardless, I’ll be reaching the peak," Ken said and then turned to keep working out.

"Ken!"

"Mum, he is over here"

Ken heard the voice of his eldest brother, he turned in that direction, and there he saw his family, they were searching for him, all four of them.

The moment his mother saw him, she bolted in his direction, tears pouring from her eyes as she threw her hands around him in a very tight bear hug, Ken couldn’t move.

"Where the hell did you go?" his eldest brother yelled.

"I told you all I’m going to train," he stated.

His mother immediately let go of him and then grabbed his shoulder.

"You had me worried to death, don’t ever do something like that again, please," she cried.

’I know this is from a place of love, but this is pissing me off,’ Ken thought, he stepped back calmly and looked his mother in the eye.

"I came here to train, and as you all can see, I have been training," he made sure to say it in a way that would ensure that they all heard him.

"Shut the hell up," his second brother yelled, "do you know how dangerous this forest is? You could have died."

"Yeah, you would know a thing or two about dying," Ken shot back, his brother instantly knew what Ken was hinting at, so he shut up and didn’t say another word.

"Listen, I know you all came here because you are worried about me, but do I look like I’m in danger?"

After he spoke, his mother finally looked around, she saw the deer meat, and then she looked at her son, toned muscles that would take months and years to gain had somehow formed on his body, this was not the kid that left the house yesterday.

She stepped back, "what, what happened to you?" she asked.

"Like I said, I was training, that’s what I came here to do," he stated again.

She still couldn’t believe her eyes, she could evidently see the results of all the training, but it shouldn’t be possible even with tons of training to be this ripped in a day, had he been hiding this from her?

What was happening now? She couldn’t wrap her head around any logical conclusion. She looked at him with a pretty confused gaze and then took a deep breath.

"You’ve always been the most honest amongst all, I believe that you came here to train, but the dangers in the forest are great, we might be far removed from demons and demon beasts, but other dangerous beasts live here, like the shadow wolves and more."

"Shadow wolves?" Ken asked.

"Yes, they would attack you the moment they see you, you were lucky, but let us not push that luck," she explained.

"Hmmm, but I already killed three yesterday if I recall," Ken stated, and everyone froze in an instant.

"Haha, did you really think such animals would be enough to kill me?" he asked with pride, "come with me and see."

He said and turned around, he walked fast and they followed, scared that he would vanish again, they made it to the stream and then he pointed at the three bodies that had started rotting, it was clear that some other animals had also eaten parts of them yesterday night.

"Those are the three I killed," he declared.

"Tch, that’s not possible, those beasts rip through flesh and bone, there is no way that you killed them," his eldest said, refusing to believe.

"Ken, you don’t have to prove to your mother that you are strong, I know you are, it’s okay, so let’s just go back," she said and tugged at his hands.

’Arghhhhh, these people are a pain in the ass right now, I could have made another thousand reps by now,’ Ken screamed in his mind, already wondering if he should tell them off. But as fate would have it, a shadow wolf entered the scene, it was a bit bigger than the three he fought, it looked at the three dead on the ground and sniffed their remains.

"That’s, that’s a shadow wolf," the second son muttered in his lowest voice, sweat instantly forming on their faces, their mother covered the mouth of their sister to ensure she didn’t make a single sound.

"We have to run," the eldest said and held their mother’s hand, about to pull her so they could run, but then Ken suddenly leaped into the air.

"Ken!!!!!!!" his mother screamed at the top of her lungs, her scream caused the wolf to turn and see Ken, and instantly the battle was set.

The moment his feet hit the ground, Ken blasted forward with a speed that would put the world’s best sprinters to utter shame, the wolf rushed forward as well.
