Chapter 60: life slowly leaves an old man

A gust of wind struck the brown fur of the orangutan chimera, its footsteps muffled as it charged toward Clay.

The orangutan chimera moved in a zigzag pattern to confuse Clay.

Clay gritted his teeth at the speed of the orangutan chimera, directing his sword to deliver a horizontal slash.

But the orangutan chimera stopped right as Clay’s slash only struck air, Clay’s blue eyes widened, only the rush of wind from the chimera’s speed hit his face.

The orangutan chimera moved again, its steps circling the place where Clay stood, Clay’s blue eyes continued to follow the orangutan chimera that was now getting faster, Clay’s body turned along with the chimera running around him.

The sound of a stomp on the floor was heard, Clay immediately turned to see the source of the sound, there the orangutan chimera leapt into the air, the tongue of its orangutan head swaying inside its wide open mouth, while its shark head remained still, ready to pounce.

Clay looked up from below, meanwhile one of the chimera’s lobster claws extended toward Clay and tried to clamp him.

Clay used his sword to block the giant claw, his hands trembled as the claw tried to pull Clay’s sword.

Clay held it with all his strength, while the body of the orangutan chimera moved closer toward Clay whose sword was still trapped.

Both of its orangutan hands clenched, its hands raised above the two heads of the chimera.

Clay’s blue eyes reflected the orangutan chimera that was about to attack him.

"Damn...."

Clay dismissed his sword that was still clamped by the lobster claw.

He stepped back to avoid the attack of the orangutan chimera.

The sound of impact was heard from the orangutan chimera’s attack, the floor it struck cracked, smoke billowed from the explosion.

Clay swallowed his saliva as he saw the orangutan chimera walking through the smoke, the mouth on its orangutan head still open, its tongue hanging along with its drool, while its gaze was empty, a heart-wrenching voice came from the orangutan head.

"Help... help...."

Goosebumps ran down Clay’s body every time he heard its voice.

Clay summoned his sword again from his smart bracelet, he looked over the entire body of the orangutan chimera, he tilted his head.

"If I say hands... does that disable all its hands or just one type?"

As Clay’s mind kept thinking about his talent, the orangutan chimera charged again, its footsteps still muffled.

It launched punches, claws, and bites from its shark head.

Clay kept dodging and looking for an opening to slash the chimera, their battle continued to move throughout the entire room.

The sound of explosions from the collisions of the orangutan chimera’s punches and Clay’s sword kept echoing.

Clay tried to keep his distance from the wild attacks, he stared at the orangutan chimera that immediately approached him.

He channeled mana into his mouth, his throat felt hot as his mana flowed, Clay opened his mouth, his voice echoed.

"Legs..."

As soon as his words were spoken, Clay’s nose lost its ability to smell.

Meanwhile the orangutan chimera that was approaching suddenly fell, its legs could not move to support its body and stand.

Clay now charged at the orangutan chimera lying face down on the floor, both of its heads looked at Clay with different expressions.

Clay swung his sword at both of the chimera’s heads, his slash was smooth without difficulty, but no blood came out from the severed necks.

Clay turned his body to see the state of the chimera, his blue eyes widened, the taste of blood began to appear in Clay’s throat.

There the chimera’s body trembled, but soon after its hands moved to help it stand, the chimera stood with its back facing Clay, a burnt smell came from the chimera, slowly from its severed head the flesh began to wriggle to form the previously cut head.

Clay clicked his tongue, he spat his saliva which had started to taste metallic.

"Damn... regeneration? They’re truly insane."

The chimera began to turn its body as its face had just started to form its eyes.

Not far from them, Ray chuckled seeing the regeneration ability of the orangutan chimera, he stroked his bald head.

"So it worked...."

Ray looked at the chimera attacking Clay again, he slowly walked to join in attacking Clay, but a gust of wind struck his face from the side.

His eyes widened, he immediately ducked and moved away from his spot.

Ray immediately looked at the person who attacked him, there the head servant stood while rolling up his white shirt sleeves, on the skin of both his arms were engraved glowing purple symbols.

His wrinkled face tried to remain firm as he faced Ray.

"You truly are barbarians, aren’t you?... how dare you defile life!!"

Ray stroked his chin, he smiled widely.

"Don’t interfere, old man... you already smell like the grave, your life will leave you soon."

The head servant ignored him, he simply prepared himself, his black eyes focused only on Ray, both his hands engraved with purple symbols began to clench aimed at Ray.

The head servant took a deep breath, he stepped forward first to start.

Ray released ten clones from his shadow that immediately blocked the head servant.

Black claws emerged from each of those clones, those black claws were aimed at the head servant.

The head servant did not avoid them, he simply directed his fist at one of the clone’s faces, and as soon as the punch landed, a loud sound like an explosion was heard along with the clone disappearing.

The head servant directed his fist again at another clone that was now surrounding him.

He raised his left arm engraved with purple symbols, as the black claws aimed at him his arm blocked them, as a result the claws did not inflict wounds on the arm he used to block.

Punch after punch rang out as the head servant struck the clones one by one.

Ray’s lips twitched slightly as he stood calmly watching it, but his calm began to be disturbed, the head servant now headed toward him, his fist glowing purple from the engraved symbols aimed at Ray’s face.

Ray gritted his teeth, he blocked it with his left arm, a loud sound followed by the sound of bones cracking was heard, Ray’s face grimaced. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

He directed the black claw in his right hand toward the wrinkled face of the head servant.

The head servant blocked it with his left arm, causing Ray’s wrist to crack.

A groan unintentionally escaped Ray’s lips, while the head servant’s expression did not change at all.

He immediately took advantage of that moment, both his hands grabbed Ray’s black robe, he pulled him with all his strength toward his forehead.

A crashing sound was heard followed by a helpless scream, Ray’s eyes lost focus, what he saw was the ceiling spinning.

His body slowly began to fall, but the head servant did not stop there, he directed his punch straight at Ray’s face.

His punch made Ray’s head hit the ground before his body, blood flowed out from Ray’s nose staining the head servant’s fist.

Now Ray lay on the floor in a supine position.

Rough breathing was heard from the head servant, his chest rose and fell rapidly, sweat flowed down his forehead.

He wiped his sweat and immediately turned around when he felt Ray had lost consciousness, he walked toward Clay who was still fighting the orangutan chimera.

Unfortunately his steps stopped after a few steps, Ray’s voice which was previously unconscious was now heard, making the head servant turn his gaze.

There Ray was already sitting with his nose and eyes full of blood, but even with all that he was still smiling.

"Damn... I shouldn’t have underestimated an old man."

One of the head servant’s eyebrows lifted, he turned his body again to look at Ray.

Ray’s smile slowly disappeared from his face, his voice now turned cold.

"I think it’s time to get serious..."

After Ray’s words, the atmosphere in the room slowly changed.

After a short time, Ray’s shadow expanded, covering half of the room leading to the palace banquet hall.

The head servant looked down where his footing was also covered by Ray’s shadow.

Slowly from that large shadow, a hand tried to emerge, another hand appeared elsewhere, and eventually hundreds of hands came out from that large shadow.

The hands emerging near the head servant’s footing tried to grab his legs, but the head servant immediately tried to get out of the pool of shadow, he shouted to Clay who was outside Ray’s shadow.

"Clay!!!"

Clay who was busy with the orangutan chimera tried to turn toward the voice calling him, his blue eyes widened, he immediately distanced himself from the orangutan chimera charging at him.

Clay’s blue eyes now reflected hundreds of Ray’s clone figures emerging from the large shadow.

Clay swallowed his saliva, he chuckled in disbelief.

"Damn... we’re really going to die this time."

The head servant who had retreated now stood beside Clay.

Clay glanced at him and clicked his tongue.

"You made that guy angry, old man Ben."

The head servant only shrugged, a rough breath escaped him.

"I only punched him once..."

Clay let out a dry laugh hearing what the head servant said, now in front of them were hundreds to thousands of Ray’s clones, the orangutan chimera was also among them.

In the silence of the room, the thousands of clones and the chimera advanced at once, Clay shouted as thousands of them attacked simultaneously.

"HOLD THEM!! JULIAN!!"

His shout reached Julian, Arthur, and Eve who were still frozen at the number of clones attacking all at once.

What approached them were the clones that had gotten past Clay and the head servant, the ground trembled as their footsteps got closer.

Julian gripped his sword tightly, he breathed fire onto his sword, his body full of wounds did not allow him to fall.

Arthur only channeled his red aura throughout his body while Eve formed a petal blade, the first wave of the clones forced them back without them realizing it, they kept retreating almost reaching the giant double doors.

Julian gritted his teeth, he took a deep breath, his shout was directed to the servants behind the door.

"Prepare to hold the door!!!"

That shout also reached Clay who was further ahead of them, he kept running while slashing anything in front of him, his hands began to tremble, the more often he swung his sword, the more painful his grip became.

A gust of wind hit the skin of his back, Clay clicked his tongue, he turned his gaze.

His blue eyes widened as he saw what it was, from the gaps between the clones, the lobster claw of the orangutan chimera lunged at him.

Clay dodged to the side which made his defense open, in front of him three clones immediately attacked him with their claws, Clay clicked his tongue.

The black claws slashed his body, Clay could only hold them back so they would not injure his face, pain was now carved into his bones, his breathing became heavier, and his determination to retaliate grew stronger.

His blue eyes trembled violently, veins bulged on his forehead, he opened his defense and immediately attacked the clones wildly, his slashes made the clones disappear like cotton, but the pain he felt was known only to him.

His breathing worsened, his heart pounded rapidly as if about to burst, slowly from various directions, black claws kept tearing his body, Clay spun his body several times like a top, the attacks managed to give him a moment to breathe.

But unfortunately what came to him were not only the clones.

Clay’s vision narrowed further, his sword blade that kept slashing was suddenly stopped in mid-air, Clay’s bones screamed as his sword was held by the orangutan chimera’s hand, Clay’s battered face now looked at the faces of the orangutan and the shark.

Even in that position, the clones continued to attack Clay.

He kicked one of the clones away from behind, then he released his sword to return to his smart bracelet, his gaze now focused only on the chimera in front of him, he ignored the others.

Clay channeled mana into his mouth, heat began to spread in his throat, Clay’s mouth opened, his voice echoed in the crowd.

"Heart..."

As soon as Clay finished speaking, his hearing disappeared in the middle of the crowd.

Meanwhile the orangutan chimera stood still, frozen without moving.

The taste of blood slowly spread from Clay’s throat, he screamed unconsciously, his scream echoed throughout the room but not in his own ears.

Clay summoned his sword again, he gripped it tightly.

"HUARGHHHH!!!"

His slash was directed at the chimera, he tore apart the chimera’s body mercilessly, he kept cutting its body, black blood splattered onto Clay’s clothes and face.

A rotten stench and burnt smell filled Clay’s nose, his stomach contents began to churn trying to come out.

Clay vomited at the same time as his final slash on the orangutan chimera which had now turned into scattered pieces on the floor, his vomit mixed with his blood that also came out.

Even after all that, Clay could not rest.

The clones swarmed him like a rising tide.

Slowly Clay’s hearing returned, the first thing he heard was the shout of an old man.

"Clay!! Clay!!"

Clay found it hard to respond to that call as his throat was filled with blood, now he had to endure fighting the surrounding clones.

Meanwhile, the head servant kept destroying the clones with his powerful punches, his body was now covered with glowing purple symbols, he had no wounds on his skin, the only damage was his white shirt which was now tattered.

His gaze kept searching for someone, he gritted his teeth, now his old body was exposed, clusters of purple symbols were also visible there, preventing him from being injured.

Even though he had no wounds, his heart became his main concern, his heart felt like it would explode under the pressure coming from all directions.

But even with all that, his gaze remained focused on searching for something, searching for someone who was the mastermind behind everything happening now.

A growl came out of his lips, his breathing was ragged.

"Where is he... where is he...."

A laugh answered the growl that came from the head servant’s lips.

"Hahaha enjoy it, old man..."

The head servant turned his gaze toward the sound, but there was only a group of clones there.

The head servant’s fists kept swinging toward the approaching clones trying to claw his body.

Another voice drew the head servant’s attention, he turned toward the source of the sound.

"I told you your life would leave you soon..."

When the head servant turned, once again there were only clones in his sight waiting to claw him.

The head servant’s heart beat faster, cold sweat began to soak his entire body.

His body kept moving to defeat the clones, slowly his ears rang causing him to almost lose focus.

A presence suddenly appeared behind him, the head servant ignored it because he was surrounded.

But the whisper pierced through the ringing in his ears.

"Got you, old man..."

As those words reached the head servant’s ears, he immediately turned, but failed to see the real form of Ray he was looking for.

Because a short sword pierced his body which should have been impenetrable.

The short sword released black powder from its blade.

The head servant coughed blood from his mouth, he looked at his body pierced by the short sword that emitted black powder.

A voice whispered in his right ear.

"You thought you wouldn’t get hurt?..."

The whisper was mixed with mocking laughter.

"Enjoy every wound you’re about to receive, old man..."

After the whisper, the short sword was pulled out from the head servant’s body, the purple symbols that were previously engraved all over his body slowly faded, his knees began to lose strength, his black eyes slowly shed tears, he fell in the middle of the crowd of clones.

After falling, his old body was trampled from all sides, the black claws that previously could not injure his body now managed to pierce his flesh.

There were no screams of pain from where the head servant was, while in a position quite far from him, Julian, Arthur, and Eve fought for their lives as shields to guard the giant double doors leading to the palace banquet hall.

Their bodies trembled, not because of fear, but because they had reached their limit.

Eve slowly fell, causing her position to be the most passed by the clones, Julian tried to cover her, helping Eve so that the black claws would not lodge in her body.

Meanwhile Arthur stood slightly behind them, his red aura had now disappeared, he only endured with his fists that were bleeding.

A claw aimed at Arthur’s stomach, Arthur whose vision was slowly becoming blurry did not realize it, the five claws of the clone’s fingers pierced into Arthur’s stomach, he slowly fell.

Shouts were heard from Julian and Eve when they saw Arthur collapse, the clones took advantage of that to move toward the giant double doors.

They pushed the massive doors forcefully together.

Behind the giant doors, the palace servants worked together to hold the massive doors, sweat dripped down their faces and their palms pressed against the doors that kept trying to be forced inward.

There was no sound from them, only the sound of the doors continuously being battered.

A sound of crying slowly came from one of the servants, those who heard it tried to stay strong, but without realizing it tears also fell from their eyes.
