Chapter 1343: Gathering

The next day, Velrion did not waste a single moment. The night’s revelations still weighed heavily on his mind but hesitation had no place in matters tied to the Sky Anchor and this world’s safety.

Before dawn fully settled across Leonora, he had already sent sealed summons through the fastest channels available, using spirit messengers and long-range transmission arrays reserved only for crises that threatened the balance of the world itself.

The messages carried no unnecessary detail, only a command for immediate assembly under the highest priority.

There were five great kingdoms across the world, each ruled through its own customs, ambitions, and political tensions.

Borders shifted in influence, trade disputes rose and fell, and rivalries never truly vanished. Yet above all of that stood one truth none of them could deny: the Sky Anchor was the foundation of power in their world. It regulated the flow of Magic, nourished cultivation paths, and sustained countless structures woven into civilization itself.

If the Sky Anchor faced danger, then every throne, army, and city faced danger with it.

Because of that, the five Archmages had long ago forged an alliance beyond politics, one built solely to preserve the source that sustained them all.

By midday, the grand convergence chamber within Leonora’s central spire had opened.

It was a vast circular hall of white stone and polished crystal, crowned by a domed ceiling where glowing constellations drifted in slow patterns overhead.

At the center stood a massive round table carved with the sigils of the five kingdoms.

Velrion of Leonora stood at his place first, composed and stern as always. His sharp eyes were already studying every entrance.

From Valdros kingdom came Archmage Kelor, a broad-shouldered older man with bronze skin and a scar across his jaw. He favored direct action over endless theory and carried the presence of a battlefield commander more than a scholar.

From Seraphelle came Archmage Lisara, a graceful woman with silver hair braided behind her back. Her voice was soft, but her mind was famously relentless. She was regarded as the finest strategist among them.

From Drakenmere came Archmage Morvain, a tall and gaunt man whose dark robes seemed to absorb light. Quiet and severe. He specialized in forbidden structures and ancient Magical systems.

From Elaris came Archmage Selena, younger than the others but no less respected. She possessed calm golden eyes and an elegant bearing. Her mastery over healing currents and energy harmonization was unmatched.

Now the five Archmages of the five kingdoms stood gathered around the circular table once more.

Politics had been left outside the chamber doors. Whatever Velrion had called them for, they all understood it concerned something far greater than any kingdom.

But after that, silence held the grand chamber for several long seconds after the five Archmages had taken their places.

The glowing constellations above continued their slow movement while no one spoke first. Only the faint hum of ancient arrays beneath the floor disturbed the stillness.

Around the circular table, the gathered rulers of Magic exchanged brief glances and measured looks.

Each of them had read the urgent summons Velrion sent before arriving. Each of them had seen the claims written within it. Yet even now, part of them still hoped he had overstated the danger.

Perhaps he had misunderstood fragments of old records. Perhaps he had reacted too quickly to unusual disturbances in the air. Perhaps the matter was serious, but not as catastrophic as he described in his messages..

But none of them truly believed that hope.

They all knew Velrion too well. He was not a careless man, not emotional, and certainly not a man who would summon every Archmage across the world through emergency channels over shadows and rumor.

If he had called them here, then he had found something grave and significant.

And if what he wrote was true, then the scale of the threat was beyond anything they wished to face. They didn’t want that to be true.

Velrion finally broke the silence.

"I am sure all of you have already received reports," he said, his calm voice carrying clearly through the chamber. "And I am equally sure all of you have sensed the disturbances in the air yourselves."

His sharp gaze moved from one face to another. None of them looked comfortable. Even the most composed among them carried tension behind their eyes.

Kelor was the first to speak. He folded his thick arms across his chest and frowned.

"I received it all," he said bluntly. "But is this not excessive? You claimed the Sky Anchor is the creation of another being that intends harm toward this world. If that is true, then how powerful must such a being be?" He paused, then added with direct honesty, "And the Dragonborn... that part is difficult to believe."

"I agree with Archmage Kelor."

Morvain’s cold voice entered next. His narrow eyes fixed on Velrion with cutting scrutiny.

Velrion sighed slowly. He had expected this kind of resistance and scrutiny the moment he sent the summons. Convincing them would never be simple.

"I anticipated this reaction," he said. "Which is why I did not come with only speculation. I found proof in old sealed records. That information was later confirmed by another faction with the capability to verify it."

Selena leaned forward slightly, curiosity overcoming restraint.

"What faction?" she asked.

Velrion answered without hesitation.

"The Dragonborn."

The room grew even heavier.

Skepticism deepened across the table. They had already read that claim in his message, but hearing him repeat it directly made it no less unbelievable.

Velrion remained unmoved.

"If none of you believe me," he said with quiet certainty, "I can ask them to come here right now." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

That statement silenced the chamber again.

The other four Archmages slowly looked at one another, unable to hide their uncertainty. They did not know whether to doubt him, challenge him, or prepare themselves.

The idea that Velrion could simply summon Dragonborn, beings buried in legend, and have them arrive at command was almost harder to accept than the threat itself.

But suddenly Velrion nodded as if already got the confirmation he needed.

"Okay. I’ll call them now."
