Chapter 522: Chapter 114: I’ll Beat You to Death

The trembling undercover is still undercover, and the daring, reckless one is also undercover. At worst, it’s just death. Does it matter how you die?

He had just received a reward from Mr. Gemini, and with money in hand, he spent freely, enjoying it as it came. His teacher had mentioned in a dream that soon there would be a rare magic potion sent to him, enough for his promotion. This was a blessing from the Nether God, carrying the deity’s blessing.

As a member of the Cardinal Hall, he was well aware of the value of such a potion. Generally, magic potions didn’t have much effect in understanding a Divine Relic; most of them enhanced the body, spiritual ability, or supernatural powers. But there was one type of potion that could—the kind only the Church Court possessed, a divine potion. In essence, a Divine Relic carried a portion of a deity’s power, and this divine potion could directly bring out the abilities of the Divine Relic, assisting the bearer in direct promotion. It was invaluable, not something a follower could obtain unless they had great merit and absolute loyalty.

Moreover, the person who consumed the potion also gained the identity of the deity’s favored, an undoubtedly deserving reward for someone like Cantona, who had put his life on the line for so long. It eased some of his grievances.

If he could unlock the Fourth Life Star, it would greatly increase his survival rate on Five Claw Island. At his age, it could reignite the possibility of becoming an Angel.

Cantona ordered a bottle of Black Label, sitting in the corner of the bar. The bar was incredibly noisy, but Cantona drank quietly, comfortably. The bartender finished serving a group of patrons and came over, pouring himself a glass and clinking glasses with Cantona.

"Waiting for someone?" the bartender asked with a smile.

"Oh?"

"You’re waiting quite obviously," the one-eyed bartender chuckled. "Anyone can see that."

Cantona shrugged indifferently, sipping the spicy Black Label.

"The Netherworld Sea is getting more and more lively now, not just on our Five Claw Island, but everywhere. More opportunities have arisen. We just got a new batch of goods, some of which are of pretty good quality. Want to try one?" the bartender asked. He appreciated customers who were generous and never caused trouble.

"You offer that kind of service here too?" Cantona asked, twirling his glass and glancing at the eager bartender.

"You know me well, it’s a legitimate bar here; how could I not? We just cater to high-end clients, good work, fewer issues. Want to try?"

"Really good?"

"Of course, I never sell fake goods here. I spent quite a bit to bring her in; she just arrived on the island yesterday, still in training. Help me test the goods."

Cantona chuckled and did not refuse; a man who licks blood off the knife’s edge has needs, and Claw Claw Boss had some credibility.

After finishing his drink, Cantona headed to the back door of the bar. The noise suddenly dissipated, the moonlight on the island was particularly vivid, dyeing the earth red. A woman in a worn cloak stood silently waiting for him.

Amid the haze, she seemed to have a rather beautiful face, fair skin, and a sexy, enchanting body. It was obvious she came from inland, a noblewoman on the mainland as well. In an instant, Cantona’s heart felt a surge of heat, but in the next moment, his gaze cleared, and the alcohol’s effects faded.

The noblewoman looked Cantona over, "You look quite hungry, not taking me back?"

"You could have waited for me in bed; why take the long way around?" Cantona leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette.

The noblewoman laughed enchantingly, linking arms with Cantona, "You are strong and wealthy, keeping me is perfectly reasonable."

"Is Big Eye one of us?"

"No, he’s not. People like him don’t offend anyone, and certainly not the Church Court. Just borrowing a way."

Lunaray, Cantona’s former colleague at the Cardinal Hall, later transferred to another department.

"Did you bring the stuff?" Cantona asked, noting the Church Court’s efficiency this time.

"No, not that quickly. I have other tasks. Just stopping by to make contact. They said to aid your acceptance into the Death Church, they could arrange some assassinations or even a warrant." Lunaray pressed herself closely to Cantona, who held her seductive body, his hands moving in the shadows. From a distance, the two seemed to have lost control over their passions.

"Who’s in charge here?" Cantona questioned.

"For tasks concerning the Death Church, I’ll cooperate with you," Lunaray said. "My main task is to establish an intelligence network in the Netherworld Sea to gather information on the Wish Book. The magic potion will take some time to arrive, and more personnel will enter the Netherworld Sea by then."

"No need for assassinations or a warrant; I’ve got my own arrangements," Cantona laughed, knowing the Nether God’s Court had a weak influence here, but someone was always present. A fake act could easily turn into reality with the Church Court’s style.

They spoke with their faces close, their bodies intertwined, walking slowly.

"Whatever you say," Lunaray replied. "You’ve been away from the Church for many years. I never thought we would meet again; it’s a miracle."

Under the moonlight, Lunaray’s eyes shone with what seemed like admiration, enough to arouse a man’s wild nature.

"Yes, I heard you were the one who reported me back then?" Cantona smiled.

"Back then, I was your closest lover. How could you escape trial without my report?" Lunaray replied, her pitiful gaze tinged with helplessness, yet without shame.

Knowing full well that ninety-nine percent of her demeanor was an act, Cantona still couldn’t bear to be ruthless; perhaps this was the power of a seductive woman. "You’re the same as back then, only your acting has improved." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Sir, such an old matter, can’t you let it go? You’re destined for great things, why fuss over a woman like me, with a reputation like mine? Because of your performance, the First Secretary shone in the Cardinal Hall. Though the other two leaders said nothing, catching them speechless was quite shocking. You have limitless prospects, and someone as insignificant as me is nothing but a bubble," Lunaray chuckled. The struggle among the three secretaries had gone on for a long time. They thought it would be a chance to push Lord Onella Murti down, only to be slapped in the face instead.

Cantona ignored the flattery, staring at Lunaray’s face intently: "After lingering for so long, isn’t it exposing us if we don’t do something, don’t you think?"

"At your discretion, sir, it’s all for work and a shared faith. As long as you don’t mind, I will cooperate fully."

Suddenly, Cantona lifted Lunaray by the waist, tossing away the cigarette butt. His stubbly face rubbed harshly against Lunaray’s fair cheek, her delicate skin immediately reddening from the friction. Taking a deep breath, Cantona’s voice turned a bit hoarse: "The moon is nice tonight; I’m going to swing you to death!"

In the night, the island was filled with the extravagant and noisy sounds of men and women. Cantona clutched the voluptuous body tightly and leaped, leaving only the echoes of a woman’s coquettish laughter at the alley’s mouth...
