Although they had prepared, at the critical moment, Bamuta and the others still found it unbearable. They didn't know if, should Batty not return, they would continue to face endless darkness and pain as before. The recent time had been the happiest days of their life. Even the heavy work wasn't burdensome anymore; being able to enjoy a peaceful night was the greatest happiness. Yet now, these people might very well rob them of this only salvation.

But at Batty's insistence, he was still taken away under the watchful eyes of many Roto. The highest form of resistance they could muster was merely to stare, constrained by the class consciousness embedded in them since birth.

Exiting the shantytown and looking at the crowd outside with their shiny eyes, Lu Wang dared not be too arrogant. He quickly took the people out of the mining area, only relaxing after leaving it, and pushed Batty into a prison vehicle, handling him a bit gentler. Normally, he'd give a beating first to let off steam.

Karoni was not in the mining area, but rather in the Anan Prison he managed.

The carriage was pulled by six strong Rotos, their bodies robust and oiled, but with vacant eyes and expressionless faces, like livestock. Batty sat quietly watching everything outside, strangely longing to go home to see his sister. During his time at the mine, he asked others to check on his sister's condition, only to hear she went to the Servant Reprimand Camp and was doing well.

The cage arrived at Anan Prison, reaching the warden's spacious visiting room. The flaming flint along the walls lit up the room, though such brightness couldn't compare with that under the Star Disc. Batty saw the lofty warden Karoni again. Karoni had Batty's shackles removed and waved the soldiers away, quietly examining Batty.

A period has passed, and this Roto's change was remarkable. His body exuded a strong sense of power. Such Life Force was rarely seen even in the statues of Tishili and the Primordial Guardian, as his mental world was extremely balanced. This stability he had only seen in the Primordial Guardian, as even Tishili needed some means to avoid the intrusion of whispers.

"Batty, long time no see." Karoni greeted with a smile, "Please, sit down."

Batty didn't look at the seat but bowed, "Master Karoni, what are your orders for summoning me?"

Karoni scrutinized Batty. Although still submissive, there was a clear difference. A normal Roto would already be on the ground kissing his shoes.

Li Xin's soul floated beside Batty, silently watching the Tishili in front of him. Under the dim light, the man's skin appeared slightly pale, and his eyes were exceptionally bright.

Karoni sensed nothing unusual and smiled, "Batty, the recent production of flint and black oil in the mine has increased significantly. I heard it's because of you?"

"Master, it's the result of all the workers' collective effort."

"Oh, very good. Since you arrived, everything has been in perfect order. You know I appreciate you," Karoni said, abruptly changing his tone to a stern expression, "But you are propagating a Cult's Secret Item in my mine. Do you know this is a capital crime with no chance of redemption in the afterlife?"

Batty lowered his head, "Master, are you referring to the Mokugyo? I discovered by accident that striking the Wind Wood can lessen the whispers while guarding a lighthouse. It's not any Cult's Secret Item."

Karoni looked at Batty, "Is that so? Then why is it called Mokugyo?"

"I dreamed of it. You know I have a Divine Relic bestowed by the Divine Hall within me. I believe it's a Deity's blessing." Batty said softly.

"Is that so, then who is Avogadro?" Karoni suddenly shouted fiercely.

If Li Xin wasn't beside him, Batty might have panicked, but he remained unnaturally calm. Only seven people around him knew that name.

Li Xin observed Karoni while Karoni observed Batty. Batty had consulted Li Xin for advice, and for safety's sake, had not yet revealed anything. Li Xin thought the other wouldn't ignore the suspicious Mokugyo. With time, it should be known outside; other matters aside, this involved whispers and faith, implying potentially other issues within.

Karoni knowing so quickly not only suggested one of the seven was his man, but had always been.

"Master, how did you know?" Batty asked in surprise, raising his eyes wide.

Karoni stared at Batty expressionlessly, "Tell me about this Avogadro and the Mokugyo. I want to know everything!"

Batty was silent for a while, and Karoni didn't press him, merely staring intently to exert pressure, "Master, ever since the Mother Blade within me awakened, I've often dreamt. As you guessed, the Mokugyo was something revealed from a dream, accompanied by a name Avogadro. I don't know if it's a name or what it is. I don't know if it's salvation or sin. Master, please enlighten me."

Batty's explanation didn't differ much from Karoni's suppositions, still stemming from that Divine Relic. Divpo City was trapped on the Mist Continent, cut off from the outside world, but the Divine Relic was different. As long as a Deity existed, the law of Divine Relics would persist, and contacting a Deity was possible. This was one reason they sought to inherit a Divine Relic.

But now, some needed this reason, while others didn't, and most didn't.

"Batty, I heard you want to see your sister?" Karoni suddenly said.

Batty's body trembled slightly, "Master, you know where she is?"

Karoni smiled slightly, "She is in a very safe place. She made a mistake in the Punishment Camp, but seeing your performance, I saved her and took her in. As long as you make a contribution, I can exceptionally grant her Sheren status."

Batty prostrated on the ground, "Master, what do you need me to do?"

Karoni didn't answer but clapped his hands, and a Roto slowly walked out from behind the door. Batty raised his head, his eyes showing surprise. It was Elder Bamuta, the spiritual leader of the mine's Rotos.

Bamuta bowed towards Karoni. Karoni looked at Bamuta, "Did he lie, and what do you think Avogadro is?"

"Honorable master, just as we've been told, I've tested him many times. He just gets the name Avogadro in dreams; it could be a name or mean something else. If it truly were a Deity, there would be authority; ignoring authority is an offense to a Deity and doesn't align with secret laws. Also, the Mokugyo works best within a range around Batty, likely influenced by the Divine Relic's power," Bamuta said respectfully.

Karoni nodded. He had guessed similarly; Avogadro didn't seem like a name but rather a spell. It was likely a power of the Divine Relic, undeniably potent. If it appeared on the Primordial Guardian, it was beneficial; if on others, it was sinful.
