Yu Fei turned his attention to his two new talents.

[Primordial Qi (Innate)]

Effect: With the aid of a companion treasure, the host can acquire the five elemental attributes and greatly enhance their ability to absorb worldly energy.

[Formless Sword Master]

Quality: Orange

Description: The body and soul have been reshaped by innate sword principles, making one more suited to practicing Sword Dao cultivation techniques.

Effect: Increases Sword Dao comprehension. Formless Sword Qi becomes an innate ability.

Yu Fei gave the talent descriptions a quick glance but didn’t have time to study them. The crisis at No. 2 High was far more urgent. He had just seen a message in the group chat saying all the martial arts students had been gathered together. This was an extremely dangerous sign.

He recalled the cultist he had killed. The man had stared at him as if he were a delicious meal, a look that sent a shiver down his spine.

RUMBLE...

Lightning flashed and thunder rumbled across the sky. As Yu Fei stepped around the street corner, he saw five corpses lying in front of the school gate. With no time to think, he instantly activated his Illusory Sword Intent. A shimmer like moonlit water flashed, and Yu Fei’s figure vanished. Completely hidden, he began to slowly approach.

’That’s Zhao Zeyang...’

Yu Fei’s heart ached. Just a week ago, the senior had arranged for him to use the Blood Gate Transformation Chamber at No. 1 High’s hospital. Now, in the blink of an eye, he was dead.

’These bastards... They all deserve to die...’

He carefully moved past the bodies and spotted a man with a blade peering out from the security booth, apparently on lookout. The man was sitting in a chair, smoking a cigarette, looking perfectly at ease.

After a moment’s thought, Yu Fei kicked the door open, then stood silently against the wall in the pouring rain.

BANG!

The door slammed against the wall with a loud crash. The cultist instantly leaped from his chair, pointing his long blade at the doorway.

"Who’s there?"

The sudden noise had startled him. He kept his long blade aimed at the entrance, but after a long moment, no one entered.

Growing bolder, he vaulted outside, only to find the entrance completely empty.

"Fuck, don’t tell me it was the wind. This damn weather made me jump."

Muttering, he sheathed his long blade and walked slowly toward the entrance.

Hidden in the darkness, Yu Fei silently watched the man approach. He suppressed his Qi Blood fluctuations to the bare minimum, his heart nearly still. He hadn’t learned any aura-concealing cultivation techniques; this was all thanks to his Illusory Sword Intent.

’Ten feet... seven feet... three feet...’

He was even closer now. Yu Fei could almost smell a foul stench wafting from the man.

VMMMM...

A flash of crimson sword light flared. The cultist was decapitated by the sharp Sword Qi. Yu Fei sidestepped the gushing blood, careful not to be stained by the enemy’s scent.

’One down...’

Yu Fei maintained the concealing effect of his Illusory Sword Intent as he moved through the heavy rain, heading deeper into the school grounds.

His Illusory Sword Intent could hide his form, but it couldn’t stop the torrential rain. A careful observer could still spot his silhouette moving through the downpour.

As he moved, he reconsidered his combat strategy. The Formless Sword Qi was extremely sharp and wonderfully covert, capable of killing without a trace, but it consumed far too much Qi Blood. Even after passing the Blood Gate, he could only unleash it about ten times at most. The group chat indicated there were more than a dozen enemies; he couldn’t use Formless Sword Qi for every kill.

Yu Fei tightened his grip on the Cyan Lotus Sword. He would have to use the blade itself to kill his enemies. Relying on Formless Sword Qi directly was just too draining.

According to the class group chat, two cultists were posted at each of the school’s two teaching buildings. The others had rounded up the martial arts students, along with the top one hundred first- and second-year students, and taken them to the grand auditorium.

The bastards had coerced a few teachers into handing over the student ranking lists and were now grabbing people by name.

Reading the messages in the group, Yu Fei’s fury intensified.

Soon, he arrived before Building One. Two cultists stood guard under the entryway awning, sheltering from the rain and preventing anyone from getting in or out.

The two were talking about something. Yu Fei approached slowly. The moment one of them turned his head, Yu Fei activated his Ruyi Shen Jin. With a mere thought, his sword flashed out in a brilliant arc, decapitating the man. He then used the subtle spatial aspect of his Sword Intent to leave a shimmering afterimage in his place as he retreated back into the curtain of rain.

The second cultist finally realized something was wrong. He saw his partner’s head fly a foot into the air and a figure of Yu Fei slowly materializing beside the body. Without a second thought, he swung his blade at it, his mouth opening to shout.

"Enem—"

But a sudden cold sensation bloomed on his throat, and all his strength drained away. The illusory figure of Yu Fei before him slowly dissipated.

Yu Fei himself never appeared. He continued toward the next building and, in the same fashion, dispatched two more enemies.

Inside the classroom of Senior Class 6, things were a mess.

Some students were crying, others were silent. Zhang Kun looked grief-stricken.

Yu Fei was absent, but other than him, all of the class’s most promising students had been dragged away by those inhuman monsters. He hated that he was just an ordinary person, not even daring to utter a word of protest.

Mr. Liu from the next class had tried to intervene and was murdered on the spot by those bastards.

Zhang Kun silently cursed the cultists and cursed the incompetence of the Martial Arts Administration Bureau, all while trying to comfort his classmates.

"Hey... Look! Those two sons of bitches are dead."

Lei Xiaoqiang pointed out the window. He was sitting in the seat next to it and had a clear view of the building’s entrance.

The moment he spoke, the other students scrambled to the window to see for themselves. Zhang Kun was no exception.

Sure enough, the headless bodies of two cultists were lying on the ground below.

"Should we go down?"

"Let’s just run for it... It’s too dangerous to stay at school."

Zhang Kun considered their next move. "Everyone, be quiet. I’ll contact the teachers in the other classes so we can figure this out together. We need a foolproof plan to stop those inhuman bastards from killing anyone."
