Chapter 235: The Blueprint of a New Home (1)

Roxanna had already planned the new layout of the settlement, but the real problem was putting all of her ideas onto the paper in front of her. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

She had bought all the tools she needed to draw on the drafting paper, but still... she wasn’t an expert at technical drawing.

After all, She was only a weather expert, not an architect.

Back in her old world, she had even needed to hire a professional to design the underground shelter for her.

Of course, that man had looked at her like she was dumb and completely delusional, but as long as she paid him, he was still willing to help turn her "crazy utopia" into something real.

However, there was no professional architect or drafter in this era, which meant Roxanna had no choice but to do it herself.

Well, maybe she could do it.

How hard could it be? It wasn’t like she needed to create a highly detailed layout, right?

Wrong.

Drawing a layout was extremely difficult.

"I give up," Roxanna murmured as she stared down at the drafting paper, now full of erased lines and messy marks.

Even if she didn’t need to draw every hut in detail, the distance between each part of the settlement still needed real measurements. If she got the numbers wrong, then once they started building it for real, the result would be completely different from what she had imagined.

"Maybe I really don’t have any talent for this," Roxanna said with a tired sigh.

[Isn’t this embarrassing? I came from the modern world, but somehow I still look stupid in front of primitive people.]

[But how the hell do engineers do this so easily? I seriously thought making a layout would be simple.]

"Do you think it’s possible for that... floating thing to create the layout you want?" Zeir asked.

Roxanna looked at the 3D model in front of her and nodded hesitantly. "Yeah, I guess so."

[But of course, I’ll have to pay for the system’s service.] She continued in her thought.

That was one of the reasons why Roxanna had wanted to draw it herself. She was simply being stingy and wanted to save her points, so she didn’t want to buy the system’s service.

But now she had learned the hard way that sometimes, being stingy was not worth it at all.

[The system can provide an accurate plan based on what you want, Host. But it will still need a few adjustments.]

Roxanna turned to Zeir. "It says it can make the plan, but we still need to adjust a few things ourselves."

Zeir nodded. "Alright. Can the hologram also become the same size as the paper?"

"Yeah, I don’t think that’ll be a problem," Roxanna said. "Do you want to trace it?"

To be honest, Roxanna had completely forgotten that tracing was even an option.

But that was understandable, since her brain had been a total mess all day. Maybe it was because she had too many things on her mind, or maybe it was because her body was trying to do two jobs at once.

"Trace?" Zeir tilted his head. "Yes. Maybe that’s the word."

Since the day was already starting to turn into evening, Roxanna didn’t want to waste any more time. So instead of asking too many questions, she went straight to the point and asked the system, [How much do I have to pay for your service?]

[For drafting assistance, Host needs to pay 5,000 SP for the entire settlement.]

Roxanna let out a harsh sigh, thinking that it was quite expensive. But after thinking about it again, architecture services in her old world were also expensive.

After all, it was a valuable skill, so of course it wouldn’t be cheap.

[Alright, I want to hire your assistance,] Roxanna said.

[Ding! Ding!]

[Purchase succeeded.]

[Remaining Spirit Points (SP): 285,550]

[The system has officially become your assistant drafter!]

A moment later, instead of speaking inside her mind, the system showed words directly on the hologram screen so Zeir could see it too.

[Please state what you want in your settlement!]

"What’s that?" Zeir asked as he lifted one of his eyebrows.

Roxanna lightly smacked her forehead because Zeir couldn’t read.

"It says we need to explain what we want in the settlement," Roxanna said. "I’ll tell it for us."

Then Roxanna began explaining the kind of settlement she wanted. At the same time, she pointed at the areas she wanted to turn into public, semi-private, and private spaces.

The total number of huts in the Vixeria Tribe was 65 huts, consisting of:

- 30 huts for each woman of prime age and her husbands

- 8 huts for the elderly or people who no longer had family

- 18 warrior huts

- 15 social-use huts, including: 1 leader’s hut, 2 communal kitchen huts, 4 food storage huts, 4 general storage huts, 2 healer huts, 1 council hut, and 1 ritual/shrine hut

"We really do need to rebuild our home," Roxanna said with a sigh. "Our hut is located in a place where it shouldn’t be."

Zeir looked at her calmly. "Don’t worry. I and the others will make sure our home still looks the same. Nothing will change, unless you want it to. If you do, we can change it too."

Roxanna shook her head lightly. "We just need to add a second floor for our future children. Other than that..." She paused for a moment. "I don’t want anything else to change."

Besides, she had already made it clear that she didn’t want to create separate rooms that would make her and her husbands sleep apart.

"Alright," Zeir said gently. "That’s not a problem at all."

Roxanna smiled and then touched the hologram screen to determine the center of the settlement.

Right in the middle, she placed the council hut. Around it, she arranged the storage huts that would hold weapons, winter clothes, and other important supplies. She chose that spot on purpose so everyone could reach it easily.
