I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 238: The Space Can Actually Relieve Weight
「Three days later, early in the morning.」
Four guards carried a large cauldron into Yuehua Small Building.
Ye Qianning heard the commotion and jogged outside. The guards carried the cauldron into her room, then bowed and departed.
She circled the large cauldron a few times and patted it with her small hands. ’Not bad. It’s a quality item.’
’It’s not much different from the cauldron in my past life’s organization. Dad is really capable to have gotten something this good in such a short time.’
’Many ancients used Alchemy Furnaces to refine pills, but I don’t think any of them are as good as a large cauldron.’
Ye Qianning closed the door and stored the large cauldron in her space. For some reason, the moment it entered, a sudden weight seemed to crash down in her mind. A wave of dizziness washed over her, and she had to lean on a table for a moment to recover.
She shook her head and entered her space to check. What she saw surprised her. The cauldron, which had looked ancient just moments ago, was now gleaming brightly, as if it had been plated with a layer of Gold.
"The space has this function too?" Ye Qianning said in surprise. She reached out to touch it. The cauldron, which weighed hundreds of pounds, felt as light as a feather inside the space.
She could push it with one hand. ’Can the space somehow negate weight?’
’Negate weight?’
Ye Qianning suddenly understood. No wonder she had felt a crushing weight when she stored the cauldron in her space. Caught completely off guard, she had nearly face-planted on the ground.
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but feel a lingering fear. ’It’s a good thing the cauldron wasn’t too heavy. If I had suddenly stored too many things, wouldn’t I have been knocked unconscious?’
"Pangtuan?" Xiang Minghou called out softly as he entered the room and saw the little girl sitting on a chair.
Ye Qianning pressed her temples and steadied her breath. She had just left her space. Opening her eyes, she said, "Dad, you’re here."
"The guards reported that the cauldron was delivered. Where is it?" Xiang Minghou looked around but saw no sign of it.
Ye Qianning pointed to her own little head. "In here."
"A big cauldron... can go in there too?"
"Mhm, but it’s a bit heavy. It almost knocked me out," Ye Qianning said, shaking her head. She still felt a little dazed.
Xiang Minghou’s heart pounded with fear when he heard that. "You silly girl, how can you just stuff anything in there so recklessly? What if something goes wrong?"
"I haven’t figured it all out yet, but I’ll know for the future."
"You’re still thinking about the future? These celestial items are mysterious by nature; they can’t be figured out so easily. Just maintain the status quo and don’t try to explore it any further." Xiang Minghou was genuinely afraid that she would harm herself.
"Okay, Dad. You look much better today."
"I am. My injuries don’t even hurt anymore. I was about to go stir-crazy from lying in bed these past few days."
"The weather’s nice today. Let’s go for a walk in the courtyard. A lot of the flowers in the garden have bloomed," Ye Qianning said, pulling him outside.
Xiang Minghou smiled and followed her out the door.
Spring was a pleasant season, and the crisp morning air carried the faint fragrance of flowers.
Not far from Yuehua Small Building was a small garden planted with a wide variety of flowers and plants. The blossoms were vibrant and a delight to see.
Xiang Minghou’s large hand held her small one as the two of them chatted and laughed. They rounded a long corridor and had just descended the steps when he looked up and saw a figure in white in the small garden, seemingly practicing Tai Chi.
Just as Xiang Minghou was wondering who would be exercising in his courtyard so early in the morning, the other person slowly turned their head. Their eyes met, and both men froze for a second.
"Well, well, if it isn’t General Xiang, up and about already. Come on, care to practice a few moves?" Zhan Yi said, his movements never ceasing.
Xiang Minghou’s face darkened. ’Why are they still at my estate?’ 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Ye Qianning, however, was already used to it. The Zhan family had been staying at the estate for several days, seemingly paying for their own food and expenses, and had even brought their own servants and guards.
