I Arrived At Wizard World While Cultivating Immortality
Chapter 675: Anti-Magic Disk
Chapter 675: Anti-Magic Disk
Suddenly, Jie Ming raised his hand and beckoned.
The motion was small, but every wizard saw it.
All eyes shifted from the Hollow City onto him.
“I have a method,” Jie Ming said. His voice was not loud, yet every word reached everyone’s ears clearly. “However, I have one condition.”
Wizard Scarlet Flame narrowed his eyes. “Speak.”
“I want half of this anomaly’s share.”
Silence lasted only an instant before exploding.
“Impossible!”
“You’re asking for too much!”
Several sixth-ring wizards spoke up almost simultaneously, their voices weaving into a noisy backdrop across the sky.
Jie Ming ignored them and directed his gaze toward the few seventh-ring wizards present.
The seventh-ring wizards frowned. Jie Ming immediately sensed several strands of spiritual power probing toward him, so he unhesitatingly connected his own spiritual power to them.
Through spiritual power transmission, both sides quickly began negotiating.
With the sky’s canopy rapidly fading above them, the efficiency of the negotiation was quite high.
In the end, both sides confirmed that if Jie Ming’s method proved effective and the process caused no negative impact on the plane or Austin’s fusion, he could receive one-third of the Hollow City body’s share.
Jie Ming expressed his acceptance.
He reached into his internal cave heaven and took out a palm-sized disk.
It was made of deep gray metal, matte and lightless, with edges as thin as a blade. The center was slightly raised, engraved with dozens of layers of concentric nested rune arrays. The lines were extremely fine, appearing a dull gray-black when dormant.
Anti-Magic Disk.
This was a wizard war tool he had purchased at great cost earlier, in preparation for the erupting wizard war.
Its function was singular: to constrain all elemental forces within a certain range, creating an anti-magic zone.
When he bought it, he had envisioned large-scale legion combat.
Only after actually joining battles did he discover that this item was almost useless in elite-level fights.
Activating the Anti-Magic Disk required about one second of lead time. In duels between elite wizards, one second was enough for an opponent to kill you ten times over.
Using it as a trap?
The elemental reaction after activation was far too obvious; no wizard would be stupid enough to step into an obviously problematic area.
Thus, this expensive “trump card” had quietly remained stored in his internal cave heaven.
By a twist of fate, however, it was perfectly suited for the current situation.
Although called an Anti-Magic Disk and sounding as if it only prohibited wizardry, what it actually constrained was elemental power itself.
The wizard world was composed of the four major elements—fire, water, wind, and earth—that formed all things.
Therefore, electromagnetic forces and strong and weak nuclear interactions between matter essentially fell within the scope of earth elemental power.
Constraining all elemental forces meant that within the covered area, not only would the power of wizardry be greatly suppressed, but even the underlying operations of physical laws would become sluggish.
Bomb explosions would have slower shockwave propagation speeds and reduced lethality.
When two vehicles collided, kinetic energy transfer efficiency would drop sharply, and flying debris distance would shorten.
Jie Ming held the Anti-Magic Disk in his palm and injected spiritual power into it.
The runes on the disk’s surface lit up layer by layer, spreading inward from the outermost ring like ripples.
Under the illumination of the runes, the deep gray metal emitted a cold blue glow.
When all the runes reached their brightest point, an invisible energy wave shot out from the center of the disk and spread in all directions.
The wave expanded at extreme speed. Most wizards present could only barely track its trajectory with their spiritual power.
In the blink of an eye, the fluctuation crossed the boundary of the Hollow City, crossed distant mountains and rivers, and ultimately enveloped a spherical region nearly ten thousand kilometers in diameter.
Within this region, all elemental forces were “constrained,” and every release of power faced enormous restrictions.
Jie Ming raised his head, his gaze sweeping across every wizard.
“Everyone, the constraint has been established.” His voice remained clear and steady even under the Anti-Magic Disk’s suppression, carrying the calm of stating a fact. “There is no need to worry about shattering this world anymore. Release as you wish.”
This was Jie Ming’s method. Since they feared that overflowing power would cause extra damage to this world, he would simply make those overflowing forces lose their effectiveness!
Hearing Jie Ming’s words, the sky fell silent for an instant.
Immediately afterward, the eyes of the high-rank wizards all lit up.
It was the light of predators that had been chained for too long suddenly breaking free.
Ever since entering this plane, they had been restricted by all kinds of rules.
Austin’s mission forbade them from damaging the plane’s structure, influencing native society, or causing violent fluctuations in the plane’s origin. Subduing anomalies required extreme caution, sealing anomalies demanded careful calculation, and during combat they had to constantly monitor their output to avoid exceeding limits.
They were wizards—existences standing at the pinnacle of the world—yet they had been suppressed like tigers trying to catch mice in a porcelain shop, forced to tiptoe with every step. Now Jie Ming was telling them that the porcelain shop had been covered by an indestructible glass dome.
The world outside the dome would remain completely unaffected; inside the dome, they could go wild.
Wizard Scarlet Flame moved first.
He used no wizardry at all and simply dove downward.
His body accelerated to several hundred times the speed of sound during the dive. Air compressed into a white conical shockwave in front of him, which slammed into the ground and sent the projected buildings on the outskirts of the Hollow City flying in swathes.
His fist smashed into the boundary line where the city body met the ground. The punch carried no elemental attachment whatsoever—it was pure physical force from a seventh-ring wizard’s remodeled body.
The ground exploded into a fan-shaped depression over a kilometer in diameter beneath his fist. Cracks spread from the edges of the depression deep into the city like a rapidly unfurling spiderweb. Yet despite causing such massive damage, the impact range of the shockwave was remarkably “narrow.”
The kicked-up dust did not even have time to rise very high before losing the power to ascend further, slowly settling back down.
The other wizards also took action one after another.
No longer concerned with output limits, the wizards unleashed flames, lightning, frost, corrosion, gravity, spatial cuts, and all kinds of attribute wizardry at the same time. They intertwined above the Hollow City into a destructive storm of power.
Besides wizardry, even more wizards chose to engage with their physical bodies.
Wizards continuously transformed their body forms into tentacled monstrosities or muscle-bound giants, roaring as they smashed down toward the city below!
Under the Anti-Magic Disk’s constraint, all power reactions were suppressed.
Even if the released power was too strong, there was no need to worry that the leaking forces would cause too much damage to the outside world.
And even suppressed by the Anti-Magic Disk, the destructive power the wizards unleashed after letting loose was still astonishing.
The results soon became apparent. The Hollow City began falling apart under wave after wave of bombardment.
Projected buildings melted in flames, shattered under frost, collapsed under gravity distortion, and disintegrated under spatial cuts.
The steel and concrete condensed from anomalous energy finally began to collapse under the continuous, high-intensity, cost-no-object assault.
Jie Ming hovered in midair, not participating in the attack.
The Anti-Magic Disk floated before him, its runes shining steadily as it maintained the elemental constraint over the entire region.
The vertical line on his forehead lit up. The All-Purpose Eye and Fate Subsystem activated automatically, constantly monitoring the Hollow City’s condition.
When the energy dropped to a certain critical point and the Hollow City’s structure began spontaneously collapsing at the edge of energy exhaustion, Jie Ming immediately reacted.
“Prepare to seal,” Jie Ming’s voice rang out across the sky.
The wizards withdrew their hands without hesitation.
At this moment, the entire city already resembled a ruin. It was nearly impossible to find any fragment larger than a palm.
Jie Ming controlled the deactivation of the Anti-Magic Disk. After the constraint was lifted, several seventh-ring wizards extended their hands together. Miniature sealing arrays appeared in their palms. Under their joint control, the arrays expanded instantly and soon grew to cover the entire city.
Sensing the wizards’ intent, dark purple light spread outward from the city’s core, attempting to resist the sealing contraction.
But its energy had already been exhausted by the previous carpet bombing. Its struggles were futile.
The array enveloped the entire Hollow City, transforming it into a massive ball of light.
The light ball rapidly shrank within the seal and was finally compressed by the wizards into a ping-pong ball-sized crystal.
The crystal’s surface was smooth as a mirror. Inside, a faintly pulsing cluster of light resembled a heart frozen in amber.
Wizard Scarlet Flame held the crystal in his palm, his gaze sweeping across all the wizards present.
He took an uncut raw crystal ore from his storage space, separated one-third of the light mass from the sealed crystal, and pressed it into the ore. The instant the light mass embedded, multiple layers of rune seals automatically formed on the crystal’s surface, firmly locking the Hollow City’s core inside.
He tossed the sealed crystal toward Jie Ming.
Jie Ming reached out and caught it. Feeling the energy fluctuations within the crystal, he nodded in satisfaction. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Although incomplete, it was still a proper core sample from a Destruction Grade anomaly.
Whether used for research or as a biomodification material, it was quite excellent.
After storing the sealed crystal in his internal cave heaven, Jie Ming no longer paid attention to the wizards beside him who were distributing the spoils. He raised his head and looked toward the sky.
In the sky, the purple clouds had become extremely faint.
Through the thin layer of purple, a clear azure sky was revealed.
