How the Guide Escapes the Obsessive Lover

Chapter 65

[Professor Oh Seokgwang apologizes to Aaron... “It was all a false accusation against Lee Yeonsu”]

— So it was Lee Yeonsu’s doing?

— Wow. Unreal.

— Where did all the people go who were dragging Aaron? They were so sure it was Dust.

— I’m in shock over Lee Yeonsu.

— Is it true? Why would a Guide do something like that?

— I don’t buy it.

└ So you’re saying Professor Oh is lying?

— Huh...

— Can he even say something like that? Isn’t Yeonsu someone the Center treasures? Isn’t this going to backfire on him? I’m worried since Professor Oh’s kind of an outsider...

— Can we even trust that professor? Wasn’t he the one who said Guides just sell their bodies for easy cash?

└ Yeah. That screenshot gives me chills.

└ I’ve been avoiding him ever since. No idea why people think he has a good image.

└ Over-immersed fandom behavior. Anyone who talks like that in real life? Instant block.

└ Still hung up on stuff from years ago. Social awareness was different back then.

└ Don’t give me that “times were different” crap. That was only four years ago. What’s changed?

└ You Yeonsu stans got nothing else, so now you’re attacking Professor Oh. Pathetic.

└ Can’t refute the message, so they go after the messenger.

— I can’t believe this.

— I always trusted Aaron.

— After all that virtue-signaling from Yeonsu... wow, unbelievable. LOL

— Lee Yeonsu. What a betrayal.

— Shouldn’t we at least hear Yeonsu’s side? I’m neutral.

└ If you’re neutral, don’t say you’re neutral.

— I’m neutral too.

***

[A quote I want all the fence-sitters to read right now:

“Neutrality only benefits the aggressor, never the victim, and silence always sides with the abuser.”¹]

— Truth. I was shocked how many people are hiding behind neutrality this time.

— Neutrality is just secondhand abuse.

— There’s no such thing as neutral. All these Yeonsu stans claiming neutrality, yeah right.

— I really want to say this to my friend who called this neutral.

— If you’re going to be neutral, you should’ve been neutral when Aaron was being dragged too. You all dogpiled on him for being weak, but now that Yeonsu’s getting accused, you’re suddenly “neutral”? That’s low. Yeonsu stans are seriously the worst.

└ And the ones twisting a good quote like that just to bash Yeonsu? Even worse.

***

[Reasons why Professor Oh Seokgwang’s words are hard to believe]

1. If Aaron was really innocent, why did he drag things out?

If he was truly wronged, he should’ve gone for testing that same day. Why vanish and then reappear the next day?

Dust disappears from your system after three days, so if you’re clean, it’s standard to get tested ASAP.

Going off the grid in silence? Super suspicious.

2. Moon Seonwoo is the ace of KN.

He’s second only to Joo Seunghyuk at the Academy.

That means he’s been guided by Yeonsu in the Directorate, and also by elite Guides in KN.

And yet he goes into shock because he couldn’t accept Aaron’s mana? That doesn’t make sense.

3. Yeonsu has no reason to lie.

According to the article, Moon Seonwoo collapsed, and Yeonsu said it was due to Red Blaze Poisoning.

Moon Seonwoo then went to the hospital and got treatment.

If Yeonsu was lying, the hospital would’ve caught it immediately.

Why would he risk telling such an obvious lie?

4. KN also said it was Red Blaze Poisoning.

Even KN confirmed it.

Why would KN lie about their own Esper’s condition?

5. Oh Seokgwang’s credibility is weak.

His mana is low for a top-tier, so he barely has any real combat experience.

On shows, he acts like he got pushed out because he lacked connections,

but really it’s because he didn’t have the ability to stay on the promotion track.

It’s a miracle he became a professor. The only reason he got that far is his media exposure.

Anyone in the field knows it.

He’s caused drama in the industry multiple times with his ignorant takes on Guiding.

Honestly, he probably knows even less about Guiding than Yeonsu.

The sudden change in stance? Suspicious as hell.

6. Aaron isn’t as skilled as Yeonsu.

Ever since Yeonsu awakened, he’s been in the field non-stop.

Meanwhile, Aaron has basically zero experience as a working Guide.

Aside from David, his whole family is high-ranking in name only—none of them actually did active duty.

Han Guncheol got injured as soon as he got to Italy.

Aaron’s dad may be S-rank, but he’s a healing-type Esper who hates gates and mostly works as a TV producer now.

And Aaron? Even in the US, he’s better known as a TV star than a real Guide.

No matter how high your rank is, if you don’t sharpen your skills, you’ll fall behind.

So now you’re telling me an Esper who’s been guided by Yeonsu all this time

suddenly had a mana shock from Aaron’s superior energy?

Come on. That’s bullshit.

***

— I tuned out at “Moon Seonwoo is second to Seunghyuk.” LOL

— Long-ass post for someone who knows nothing.

— “Yeonsu would never lie” LMAO 😂

└ Still clinging to that sweet little innocent Yeonsu fantasy. That’s just sad.

└ (OP) Who said anything about being sweet? I’m saying no one would tell a lie that obvious and easily disproven.

— Not a single fact in the whole rant. Are all Yeonsu stans this dumb?

— Look at the Yeonsu stans. First they attacked Professor Oh for defending Aaron, and now they’re going after Aaron himself. Disgusting.

— Why the fuck are you still dragging Aaron? Seriously gross.

— So what if Moon Seonwoo’s from KN?

└ (OP) KN is the top guild for Guides. If Moon Seonwoo is from KN, he would’ve worked with the best Guides in the country. So how could he be shocked by Aaron’s mana unless something was off?

└ Top guild for Guides? That’s Sungan, you dumbass. 😂😂😂😂

└ Literally clueless.

— Who else would stick up for low- and mid-tier ability users like Professor Oh?

Going feral with fandom brain rot is one thing, but this is too much.

— This isn’t the opinion of a Yeonsu stan.

— (OP) I’m not a stan for anyone. I’m a Guide myself. I just wrote this because Professor Oh’s claims don’t add up.

└ Not a single point you made is valid and you claim to be a Guide? Hilarious.

— This is what fandom delusion leads to—writing garbage like this.

— “Moon Seonwoo is KN’s ace” LOL please.

— He is KN’s ace, and KN is ranked first among Guide guilds. Honestly, nothing OP said was even that wrong. Everyone here is just being bitter.

└ Seriously, the people calling everyone “clueless” here are the most clueless ones.

└ They’re just thrilled they finally have an excuse to drag Yeonsu.

└ Yeonsu stans, just fuck off already.

└ Yeonsu stans are fucking hilarious.

└ Yeonsu stans, stop simping in here and go read that ItsFact article. Your fave is done for.

Kim Jun didn’t use the internet. He’d never been particularly interested in that sort of thing, but ever since entering ISA, he had made a conscious effort to stay away.

Because there were so many people who insulted the F-rank Guide who got into ISA.

But when he heard that Yeonsu-sunbae was getting bombarded with criticism, he checked the internet for the first time in a while.

Thankfully, there were some who supported Yeonsu-sunbae, but most were swept up in Professor Oh’s claims and throwing insults.

Even posts that stated the facts accurately or pointed out contradictions in Professor Oh’s statements would immediately be flooded with sneering comments.

Kim Jun felt frustrated and furious. He wanted to correct the misinformation, but he wasn’t a member of any of the communities, so he couldn’t post anything. And there wasn’t even a sign-up button in sight.

What the hell am I supposed to do to post something here?

He’d stumbled upon the site while searching online, and didn’t know the first thing about how it worked.

Biting his lip in frustration, Kim Jun kept scrolling—until suddenly, everyone started talking about It’sFact.

It’sFact was a gossip outlet famous for paparazzi photos of celebrities.

Kim Jun clicked on the article everyone was talking about.

***

It’sFact Focus – “I’m the Only S-Rank Guide!” The Hidden Truth Behind Lee Yeonsu’s Angelic Face

It’s been over ten years since an S-rank Guide last appeared—so when Lee Yeonsu burst onto the scene, Korea went wild.

A genius-level skillset, a pure and beautiful face, and even a sweet personality.

Lee Yeonsu was a national treasure, idolized like a K-pop star. But maybe he actually believed he was one?

The moment Aaron Han, a real global star, came to Korea, Yeonsu’s mask fell off.

It’sFact obtained a transcript of a conversation between Yeonsu and Aaron, and reconstructed the events of that day.

May X: Aaron Han arrived in Korea, his “second homeland,” full of dreams.

At the Ability User Academy, he introduced himself like this:

“Hello. I’m S-rank Guide Han Minho. I’m twenty years old in Korean age. Korea is my grandfather’s homeland. To me, it’s like my second home.”

It was the fresh, bright greeting of a cute young man who had just turned twenty. «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» The students gathered in the auditorium laughed and smiled. But one person didn’t.

That person was Lee Yeonsu—the only S-rank Guide at the Ability User Academy, whose position was now being threatened.

That day, Professor Oh Seokgwang asked Yeonsu to show Aaron around the school. It was a gesture hoping the two S-rank Guides would get along. Aaron was excited too. But Yeonsu’s attitude was cold.

“Guide Aaron.”

That’s how Yeonsu addressed him. Not once did he call him “Han Minho.” A silent warning: This is my territory. Don’t step in.

And from then on, Yeonsu kept sharpening his edge.

***

Aaron: I want to become an Exclusive Guide.

Yeonsu: Compared to Free Guides, Exclusive Guides are less competent.

Aaron: Isn’t that a bit unfair?

Yeonsu: I’m afraid I can’t agree with your opinion, Guide Aaron.

Aaron: ...What?

Yeonsu: I’ve guided many Espers up to now. You have very little experience, don’t you?

Yeonsu attacked Aaron’s weak points and trampled over him. And it only got worse after that.

Kim Jun closed the article halfway through. No—he didn’t even want to call this a “news article.” This was flat-out fiction.

It claimed that Yeonsu trampled on Aaron, that he was dating Park Geonwoo, but found him poor and emotionally repressed compared to Joo Seunghyuk, and that he’d insulted all the students at ISA as incompetent.

There was no way Yeonsu-sunbae said any of that. This was one hundred percent baseless rumor.

But the comment section was in flames.

“You really trust It’sFact?”

“Their articles are so cringe, I can’t even read this. How does it keep getting worse?”

“This is straight-up fanfiction.”

“Wait, this wasn’t on KakaoTalk—it’s a real convo? How do they even know Yeonsu actually said this?”

“I’m staying neutral for now.”

Sure, there were comments like that, but most people blindly believed the article and tore into Yeonsu-sunbae.

“Trash,” “I was fooled,” “It was all an act,” “So disappointing,” “Did he frame Aaron because he was scared he’d naturalize in Korea?” “Chilling,” “Disgusting,” “I regret ever liking Yeonsu”—the flood of hate just kept coming, and Kim Jun was livid.

What the hell do these people even know about Yeonsu-sunbae, to talk like this just because of some dumb made-up story?

“If you don’t trust It’sFact, go check YouTuX. They uploaded the video there.”

Kim Jun saw the comment and went to YouTuX. Just as they said, It’sFact had uploaded a video titled:

It’sFact – The Two Faces of Lee Yeonsu

Kim Jun clicked on it. A close-up of Yeonsu’s face filled the screen.

***

“Guide Aaron.”

“I’ve guided many Espers up to now.”

“I’m afraid I can’t agree with your opinion, Guide Aaron.”

“If that’s the case, then the Espers I’ve guided up to now were all fools who couldn’t even tell a Guide’s rank apart.”

“Are you saying, Guide Aaron, that you’re looking down on Korean Espers?”

“Please be more careful from now on. That kind of remark is disrespectful—not just to me, but to others as well.”

“Guide Aaron, your Korean really seems weak.”

“...Haa.”

***

What the hell is this...

Kim Jun was stunned. They had just clipped together Yeonsu-sunbae’s words out of context. Sure, Yeonsu-sunbae didn’t look like he was in the best mood—but without knowing the full conversation with Aaron, this proved absolutely nothing.

But the public didn’t see it that way.

“Damn, Yeonsu’s got a nasty temper.”

“How the hell did he hide that for so long?”

“Where are all the neutral clowns now? LOL”

“Knew he was trash since he said he’d only hold hands during guiding.”

“You can’t fake your face. I knew something was off from the start. Never got the hype about his looks.”

“Look at him mocking Aaron for not speaking Korean well. Does he even speak English? Aaron’s fluent in English, Italian, and Korean. Yeonsu’s bragging about speaking just Korean. Pathetic.”

“Calling him ‘Guide Aaron’ over and over when he asked to be called Han Minho? People who know, know. That’s deliberate ostracism.”

“Calling people ‘fools’? Seriously low-class. Was Yeonsu always this kind of person?”

The comments exploded. Almost all of them were hateful.

“What? People said the video was even more damning, but there’s nothing here. I thought it would match the article, but it doesn’t. How are we supposed to believe this?”

└ “Are you dumb? They edited it this way to protect the whistleblower.”

└ “What does hiding the whistleblower have to do with cutting the video like this?”

└ “They're trying to obscure the camera angle.”

└ “God, you’re stupid. Fine, go believe Yeonsu’s lies then.”

“I don’t even think it was insulting. Didn’t seem like he said anything particularly bad. What’s the problem?”

└ “If this doesn’t seem like a problem to you, you must really suck at social skills.”

└ “He used other Espers as an excuse to shut Aaron down. So Aaron couldn’t argue back.”

└ “It’s like saying: ‘Everything I said is right, so shut up.’ You don’t get that?”

└ “Calling people fools isn’t an insult now? Wow, your personality’s showing.”

A few objective comments trickled in—but they got flamed even harder.

Everyone seemed to have lost their minds. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

“This is a low-quality edit. Guide Yeonsu would never look down on someone or try to dominate them. I’ve met him in person, and he was incredibly kind and considerate.

If the article’s true, then release the entire video.”

Kim Jun left a comment. He believed in Yeonsu-sunbae. The article was nothing but lies. This video couldn’t be trusted either.

As soon as he posted, another related video popped up:

“Now I Can Finally Say It – The Demonic True Nature of Lee Yeonsu”

Kim Jun clicked it—and immediately regretted it.

“Hey there, it’s Reporter Cho.”

Oh god. It’s his video?

He was a former journalist for a major newspaper’s Ability User desk. Fired for taking bribes. Now made trashy content on YouTube.

Every “scoop” he dropped about Ability Users was total fiction. No Ability User liked him—and Kim Jun was no different.

***

“Lee Yeonsu’s blowing up right now, huh? So I had to rush this video out. Sorry about the mess—didn’t have time to clean up. But hey, you’re not here for my face, right?

Let’s skip the pleasantries. Yeonsu’s known as the nice guy, right? But in reality, he’s a manipulative bastard. Doesn’t treat anyone as human unless they’re high-rank. Non-Ability Users? Straight-up trash to him.

That contract he tore up with Joo Seunghyuk seven years ago? That was a calculated move. He weighed which option benefited him more—and picked the one that gave him the upper hand.

If he’d signed the contract back then, he’d just be a kept pet in Sungan now. But because he didn’t, everyone started chasing after him instead.

That probably felt great when he was younger—everyone doting on him.

But now that he’s older, he’s starting to regret it. Sungan’s gotten even bigger in the past seven years. They’ve gone global. They’re the only Korean company on the global top 10 list. Sure, they were top-tier before, but not this big.

Plus, Yeonsu’s got a weakness.

During the Horaritron Gate incident two years ago, he almost died. Ever since, he can’t enter Gates. That makes him a half-broken Guide.

He tried to inflate his value and get hired by a big company, but who’s gonna pay top dollar for damaged goods? So now his goal’s to marry rich.

That’s why during the ISA simulation, he asked to be on Joo Seunghyuk’s team.

If a pretty S-rank like Yeonsu starts guiding you—holding your hand, kissing you, coming on strong—how could even Joo Seunghyuk resist? He even stopped Seunghyuk’s rampage.

And don’t even get me started on that rampage. I’ve got lots to say, but this isn’t the place for it.

Anyway, Yeonsu finally got his claws in Seunghyuk. But then Aaron shows up.

Aaron’s rich, has a powerful family, and he’s a dominant Omega.

And Alphas? When it’s time to marry, they always go for Omegas. That actor who recently got married? Dated a Beta for years—still chose an Omega in the end.

You think Yeonsu doesn’t know that? Of course he does. That’s why he got even more insecure about Aaron.

So he started trying to sabotage Aaron at ISA. But it didn’t work. Seunghyuk started leaning toward Aaron. That drove Yeonsu insane. That’s why he claimed Aaron was using Dust.”

***

I should’ve turned it off the second it started...

Kim Jun was disgusted with himself for watching the whole garbage video.

Not a single damn thing in it was true.

Even now, top guilds were lining up to scout Yeonsu-sunbae. And even if it were true that he couldn’t enter Gates anymore, that wasn’t some fatal flaw. He was a Guide, not an Esper.

The idea that Yeonsu-sunbae was hitting on Joo Seunghyuk? Absolutely ridiculous. If anything, it was the other way around. And Joo Seunghyuk didn’t give a single damn about Aaron.

Honestly, Kim Jun didn’t like Joo Seunghyuk either. The guy was rude, violent, and just plain unpleasant in every way.

But one thing was clear—Joo Seunghyuk was serious about Yeonsu-sunbae. His eyes were always on him.

Kim Jun believed no one liked Yeonsu more than he did. Even if it was admiration from afar, his feelings were real. He wouldn’t lose to anyone.

He’d worked hard to get into the Ability User Academy just to meet Yeonsu. Everyone said it was impossible for an F-rank—but he never gave up.

But in front of Joo Seunghyuk, he lost all confidence.

Every time he looked at Yeonsu, he saw Joo Seunghyuk already standing at the end of that gaze. Even before he arrived, Seunghyuk had already been looking.

As if Yeonsu was the only one in his world.

Kim Jun wanted to believe that even if he didn’t have the rank, the traits, or the money, at least his feelings were just as strong—but when he saw Seunghyuk, even that seemed like a losing battle.

And that guy, interested in Aaron? What a joke.

But others didn’t see it that way.

“Reporter Cho never disappoints. So Yeonsu was really like that, huh?”

“Heard Joo Seunghyuk even bought him an S-rank weapon. No wonder he lost his mind.”

“Bet he regrets rejecting that contract when he was a kid.”

“So saving Seunghyuk from the rampage was just part of his plan. Scary.”

“I knew Yeonsu’s true colors the second he dumped Park Geonwoo for Seunghyuk.”

“People have been spoiling him since he was little. In the old days, Guides like him would’ve been locked away to breed for life. Now they get treated like royalty. The world’s going to hell.”

Furious, Kim Jun left a comment calling it all lies. But all he got in return were mocking replies saying he was probably a paid shill Yeonsu had sent.

***

[Every time he said "Guide Aaron," I got PTSD.]

– Seriously. Only people who've actually experienced that kind of thing will get it.

– Out of everything, that was the worst. People saying that isn’t ostracism must be so lucky to be that insensitive.

└ Yeah. Probably because they do it themselves.

– Yep. That really triggered my PTSD.

– I’d rather get punched. Drawing the line like that is the absolute worst.

[Yeonsu stans going after Professor Oh yesterday? That was terrifying.

All the dirt on him kept coming out. Scary stuff.]

– Right? Where did all the people who were attacking Professor Oh go?

– They all need to be sued.

– The fan shielding was insane.

– Yeon-stans are terrifying. They kept that sweet fan image all this time, and now their real faces are out.

└ Guess they take after their fave. Double-faced LOL.

– We have to protect Professor Oh. He’s the only one who cares about mid- and low-tier ability users.

[Is Lee Yeonsu a school bully?

I watched Reporter Cho’s video. That shit was terrifying.

How can a person be like that? Even that rampage incident seems suspicious now.]

– So now It’sFact wasn’t enough and people are believing Reporter Cho too?

– Let’s not with Reporter Cho. That guy’s spread so many lies.

– Look at Yeonsu stans rushing in to comment LOL. They can’t refute the content, so they just attack the reporter.

└ Just like how they went after Professor Oh.

[Treating ability users like celebrities is the real problem.

Back in the day, if you awakened, they sent you straight to the military. That’s how it should be again.]

– That’s a bit much.

– Why should everyone suffer just because Yeonsu messed up?

– (Original poster) So you think it’s fine that people get rich and famous just for awakening?

└ It’s not just Korea. Other countries are even worse.

– Saying stuff like that is how you get flamed worldwide. Move on from the past.

– Then they’ll all just naturalize somewhere else.

– People like you need a Gate to open right in front of your house.

[I’m a Suid fan, and I really hope they apologize soon.

Even if it was a mistake, falsely accusing someone is serious.]

– Yeah, they should apologize ASAP.

– Same. I hope they own up and show real remorse.

– Too late. Pack it up.

└ So what if it’s late?

└ Then they should retire.

└ Isn’t that extreme?

└ It’s school bullying. Yeonsu stans are all bullies. He should retire.

└ How is this school bullying?

└ Isn’t ISA basically school?

└ Aaron’s not even an ISA student. And there’s nothing in this that qualifies as bullying.

└ He ostracized and framed someone. What do you mean, “not bullying”? Yeon-stans are all delusional.

[Don’t you think Yeon-stans should be humbled by now?

Yeonsu had a kind personality → turns out he framed someone + bullied them

Said no to money, followed his principles → now dating a chaebol

First love with Park Geonwoo → betrayal]

– LOL

– So humbled.

– Seriously. Can’t believe people still stan him.

└ People still do?

└ They’re still at it on TwiX and in “Ability User Lounge.”

└ Even Ability User Lounge? Isn’t that the biggest café for ability users?

└ The owner of that café is a Yeonsu fan. Their nickname literally means “Love for Su.” Short for “Yeonsu Sarang.”

└ “Sarang for Su”? Are you serious?

└ Yeah. They’re shutting people up like crazy. Anyone criticizing Yeonsu gets suspended for spreading rumors. New spinoff cafés are popping up because of it.

└ That’s insane. Ability User Lounge has been around forever, and now it’s falling apart like this.

[How weak was that Esper who got shocked?

Imagine getting a shock just from a strong mana wave during guiding LOL]

– If it were me, I’d be too embarrassed to show my face again LOL

– Straight-up glass body

– Wasn’t Yeonsu supposed to be in charge of that guy?

└ Guess Aaron’s stronger than Yeonsu. Yeonsu’s a Beta, Aaron’s a dominant.

└ So why did ISA worship a Beta like Yeonsu more than Aaron? They say Moon Seonwoo was ISA’s top two.

└ Aaron >> Yeonsu >>>>>>>>> ISA trash

– These days, the quality of Guides is pitiful. No one like Kang Ok anymore. And if it’s not Joo Seunghyuk or Park Geonwoo, all the Espers are garbage too.

***

With Professor Oh’s apology as the catalyst, a flood of malicious reports about Lee Yeonsu erupted across various media outlets.

Public criticism came pouring in. Many of the comments were so foul-mouthed they were unprintable—outright sexual harassment, slurs that crossed every line imaginable.

The Ability User Academy was also thrown into turmoil by the controversy. But unlike other places, it didn’t get swept up by public opinion.

“I almost died reading that article yesterday. They’re saying Yeonsu-sunbae went after Joo Seunghyuk just because he had nowhere else to go and wanted to get married? Are they serious?”

So Eun fumed.

She admired Yeonsu. But even those who weren’t particular fans found this whole situation absurd.

The students at ISA were ability users themselves. They knew what Yeonsu was like in daily life. And they had also heard the details of what happened during the “Daejeon Gate Raid” from their seniors.

Because of that, they could immediately recognize how illogical and biased the recent articles were.

Most of them, especially at ISA, were sure that it was Aaron who used Dust.

“People have really lost their minds. KN released a follow-up article confirming that it was a Red Rage Shock. And now they’re saying KN is just covering for Yeonsu because he’s their pick?”

Dongseok burst out angrily, and So Eun’s expression twisted with fury.

“Freaking psychos. First, they say Yeonsu-sunbae clung to Joo Seunghyuk because he had no future—and now they’re claiming he’s KN’s secret recruit?”

“Exactly. And now they’re dragging Sunwoo-sunbae just to defend that asshole Aaron. Fuck that.”

Dongseok couldn’t hold back and cursed.

Moon Seonwoo was practically the leader of ISA’s Espers. He was kind, always looked after his juniors, and even among Guides, he was praised for his polite guiding manners.

And now Moon Seonwoo had collapsed and still hadn’t regained consciousness.

His condition had been confirmed as Red Rage Shock. Not just by the students who were there at the time, but by the juniors who visited him in the hospital afterward.

Yeonsu was also hospitalized from a mana shock related to the same incident.

At ISA, the prevailing belief was that Aaron had dragged Yeonsu into this to cover up his own drug allegations.

Professor Oh had taken Aaron’s side, but no one believed him.

Instead, many were angry that he was pushing media narratives while the victims—who were both sick and unable to speak—were left to be slandered. Even students who had previously liked Professor Oh admitted he’d gone too far this time.

“It’s all because of Oh Seokgwang, that bastard. He threw Sunwoo-sunbae under the bus just to protect a druggie.”

Park Jihee clicked her tongue in disgust.

Professor Oh had claimed that Moon Seonwoo only went into shock because he wasn’t qualified enough.

Because of that remark, Moon Seonwoo was being mocked all over the place as incompetent. And now people were saying Lee Yeonsu had less aptitude than Aaron too.

Worse, the entire ISA student body was being written off as talentless just because they stood by Yeonsu and Seonwoo.

“What the hell is wrong with Professor Oh?” So Eun asked, her voice laced with irritation. The Changwi Guild members had never liked him much—he always looked down on them for coming from a smaller guild.

“Exactly. Earlier, some of the Espers and I went to file a complaint with him, but he didn’t even show up. Guess he knows he messed up. What the hell was he thinking, starting this kind of shit?—Oh! Jun!”

Jihee spotted Kim Jun walking into the school cafeteria and waved him over.

“Hi.”

Kim Jun bowed slightly and sat beside her.

“Jun, what’s up with your face? Are you sick?”

His face looked noticeably haggard, even though only a day had passed.

“I just didn’t sleep well....”

“Why not?”

“Just... stuff.”

He trailed off. He couldn’t bring himself to say he’d stayed up all night watching clips and edited videos about Yeonsu, seething in frustration.

Jihee quietly watched him.

Is it because of Yeonsu?

She knew that Kim Jun had a special regard for Yeonsu.

He was usually indifferent to everything and terrible at reading the room—but whenever Yeonsu was around, his whole demeanor changed.

His eyes sparkled. A bright smile appeared on his lips. His voice jumped up a pitch. Just saying one sentence to Yeonsu made him light up with joy.

At first, Jihee had assumed it was just admiration. Lots of people admired Yeonsu. She figured Kim Jun was one of them.

But the more she saw, the more she suspected his feelings ran deeper than that.

Still, Jihee had no intention of pointing it out. As long as Yeonsu was dating Joo Seunghyuk, it was better to leave it buried.
