Chapter 491 - 510: Your Bamboo Shoots Are Delicious
Mo Si also picked up a piece of bamboo shoot.
He took a bite and found he didn’t need to force a compliment. After that single mouthful, the words of praise came tumbling out on their own. "The bamboo shoots today are even better than before."
"Delicious."
"Oh?" Jiang Qiuqiu asked curiously. "Really?"
’Better than before?’ she wondered. ’Has my skill improved? But I’ve barely made bamboo shoots while Mo Si was away.’
Seeing her brother’s enthusiastic praise, Mo Chengyu also tried a bite. After eating it, she realized he was right. "The bamboo shoots really do taste a bit better than before."
She had Zuo Kai try a bite, too.
Zuo Kai noticed a clear difference as well. Only Jiang Qiuqiu thought it tasted the same as always.
That was a little strange.
But it was a minor issue, and they didn’t dwell on it. The praise continued, and soon, the dishes, soup, and dessert in the living room were all wiped clean.
Mo Si wasn’t a big fan of dessert, but Mo Chengyu absolutely loved it!
It was sweet and chewy, and absolutely fragrant.
After the meal, they discussed cleaning up and washing the dishes.
Jiang Qiuqiu said she could handle it herself, but Mo Si offered to help. If it had been just the two of them, Jiang Qiuqiu might have accepted, but...
With several others sitting right there, it felt a bit odd for only Mo Si to offer.
The two of them went back and forth for a moment until Mo Chengyu, who was sitting to the side, leaned forward and pointed at the robot butler. "What are you two arguing about?"
"Just let it do the work." Mo Si glanced at the robot, read off its model number, and said, "I remember this model of butler. It should be able to handle all the housework perfectly."
Jiang Qiuqiu: ...
’Oh, right. Washing dishes after a meal is a thing of the past now.’
The two of them awkwardly let go. The robot butler moved quickly, and along with its robotic assistant, it soon had the living room tidy. A moment later, the sound of running water came from the kitchen; they had started on the dishes.
They were all stuffed, so the four of them sat in their chairs afterward, letting their food settle.
Mo Si happened to notice a training helmet on a lounge chair in the living room and asked Jiang Qiuqiu, "Have you still been keeping up with your Spiritual Training?"
"I have," Jiang Qiuqiu said, picking up the white Spirit Training Helmet. "I do it every day, but I just got back, so I haven’t done it yet today."
An idea then struck him. "Why don’t we do a session now?"
"Okay!" Jiang Qiuqiu was game. "I also want to see how far my spiritual power has come."
And so, the two of them happily turned on the new Mental Training Device.
But a problem quickly arose.
This was a special-issue training helmet designed exclusively for Spirit Healing Masters. And while it was very advanced and had an option to switch to a standard 2v2 spiritual power combat mode, but—
Mo Si had never seen one before. He didn’t know how to use it.
But he didn’t admit that he didn’t know how. Instead, he fiddled with the helmet for a bit. If he had been alone, he probably would have figured it out after a little while.
But Jiang Qiuqiu was watching him the whole time.
Who would want to look incompetent at a moment like this? He was even getting a little nervous. But the more he hurried, the more flustered he became, and the more nervous he was, the harder it became to find the right setting.
"Is this a new Mental Training Device?"
"Did it come with a manual?"
"Uhh..." ’If I had bought it, it probably would have,’ she thought. But this was a gift, and Jiang Qiuqiu couldn’t remember if there was a manual inside.
She fiddled with it for a moment and realized she didn’t know how to switch modes either.
And so, they had no choice but to ask for help from the tech whiz sitting to the side, Mo Chengyu.
As for Mo Chengyu? She just wanted to laugh. Very, very badly.
