"It seems they will be assassinating Moment tomorrow. The vimodial mentioned he will be breaking into the Rank 4 novice-stage transcendent level tomorrow, after all. That is when they will most likely strike."
"How about I let them kill Moment? Then, I will hire an intelligence organisation to release rumors across the city that Cecil and a Rank 4 novice-stage vimodial are colluding to kill Moment, so that Cecil can take over the Moment Guild to have access to their principle fragments, and she will let the Rank 4 vimodial take over the position of LEA head in the Grimwood District," Kailen thought.
He hit the soft cushion of the sofa gently with his hand. "That much is enough. If I do that, people will use rumors to connect the dots that the reason why no progress has been made concerning the vimodials in the district is because she has been partnering with them. Plus, the other LEAs in the other districts will band together to find out the truth. I should add the coordinates of where they kill Moment, so that they can be caught right after killing him. That way, I will kill two birds with one stone. After all, the Moment Guild came after me. Letting their guild leader die will deal a heavy blow to them. Also, I will be able to get rid of the vimodials at the same time."
The reason why Kailen decided to use an intelligence organisation in the Castellan District to spread the rumors was because he could not risk trusting the intelligence organizations of the Grimwood District. They could have been bribed by the LEA of the Grimwood District to report anyone who seemed to have leads on their activities to them, after all. He would be walking into a lion’s den by working with them. The Castellan District was the safest option.
The Will of the Universe stopped watching a movie from the shadow expanse and stared at Kailen. It was times like this that she realized how special this young man was. His ability to scheme was terrifying. Kailen, oblivious to her thoughts, quickly put his plan in motion.

Castellan District of Richtchard City.
Skynet Intelligence Organisation
A man was currently seated in a large luxurious room watching some television from a holographic panel. He sighed. "Seriously, when will something juicy pop up? These days, we are not getting any juicy information. Information is money and leverage, after all."
These days, the organization was not doing so well. He missed the old days where they were the best intelligence organisation in not just the district, but the entire Richtchard City. He sighed. Suddenly, someone barged into the room with a somewhat nervous but excited expression. Before he could even reprimand the person for barging into the room, the person spoke.
"Sir, you need to take a look at this. If this is true, we have hit the jackpot."
The man didn’t hesitate. He gestured for his subordinate to come over so he could take a look at the message. He knew no one in their right mind would barge into his office and speak before being spoken to if it was not something important. The moment he saw the message, a glint of excitement flashed through his eyes.
"Who’s the sender?" he asked.
"Sir, that’s what makes it more credible. It’s Kailen Darkhaven," the subordinate replied.
"Kailen Darkhaven? That genius from the Dawnseer Guild?"
"Yes, sir. He took a mission recently, one which is closely related to this information. It seems he found some leads. I don’t know how he managed to do it, sir, but..."
"I know," the man replied. "Kailen Darkhaven is known to keep a low profile. The fact that he added his name to it indicates he is willing to stake his reputation that this information is legit. As for how he managed to get the information, someone like him must have some unconventional means. How much is he paying for us to spread the information?"
"5,000 gold coins, sir."
"We should be paying him, rather. Tell him we’ve taken the job and we will give him 7,000 gold coins for giving us this valuable information."
"Yes, sir."
"When does he expect us to disseminate the rumors?"
"We should be ready at any time, sir. He will give the go-ahead."
"Alright. Tell the agents to spread across the city. When he gives the signal, we will act."
"Yes, sir."
"You may leave. Also, be expecting a promotion soon."
"Yes, sir... thank... thank you, sir."
As the subordinate left, the man smiled. "It seems our intelligence organization is about to be famous throughout the whole city once again. Also, Kailen Darkhaven... what a dangerous person..."
****
Grimwood District of Richtchard City.
In a large penthouse.
In a large bedroom.
A man lay asleep at the moment. Suddenly, his eyes fluttered open. His figure flashed and he disappeared from the bed. Right when he disappeared from the bed, streaks of blue light tore through the bed, causing it to blow into smithereens.
Who the hell had the gall to attack him? Wait... did this mean that all the Rank 3 novice-stage transcendents guarding him had been killed? After all, to get to this part of his villa, one had to get past the guards. And getting past them meant... killing them. When did he offend a fellow Rank 4 novice-stage transcendent powerhouse?
"Not bad," a familiar voice wafted in his ears.
"Cecil... how could you?" he replied, shock etched on his face.
"Moment, you are so naive, even for a transcendent. Did you think when I was all smiles when you told me the principle fragment tower of your guild is only reserved for your guild members, I was just going to sit by and do nothing? Heh. Since persuasion failed, naturally, force had to be applied," Cecil replied.
Moment sighed and chuckled. "Indeed, you have fooled me. Turns out the righteous front you present all the time is nothing but a disguise, huh. But don’t think it will be so easy to get rid of—"
Before he could even finish speaking, a ball of dark mist tore through his chest. He saw someone in his line of vision. The person was quite unfamiliar. This was the last thing he registered before he died—fear, shock, and resignation etched on his face.
Briggs appeared.
"All done, Cecil."
"Heh, you think I will have use for a vimodial after I’ve gotten what I wanted? Why should I leave any loose ends?" Cecil replied.
"I expected that." Briggs was not shocked.
Several people materialized in the room. They were all Rank 4 novice-stage transcendent level powerhouses. They showed hostile expressions to Cecil.
At this moment, Kailen, who was observing everything from his hotel room, sighed. "Of course. They would stab each other in the back. Anyway, the LEA from the other districts should be here anytime soon."
Cecil’s voice turned shaky as she stared at Briggs in fear. "You... how..."
Briggs replied casually, "I lied to you. I am not the only one who has broken into the Rank 4 novice-stage transcendent level. Did you think I am so stupid to reveal all my cards?"
"You mean your fellow vimodials have broken through too?"
"You’ve finally caught on." Briggs smiled. "So, what’s the way forward now? Will you honor your part of the deal or you prefer to die?"
Cecil sighed. She had been outplayed. She was cornered now. If she didn’t honor her part of the agreement, Briggs and his lackeys would kill her. She had no choice.
Just when she was about to speak, several rank 4 novice stage transcendants, about 30 of them barged into the room.
Kailen nodded from his hotel room as he drank some coffee. "I suppose my work here is almost done."
