Harem System In A fantasy World
Chapter 288: Questions
Once Elion and Zenith were done with the first round, he tried to go in again for another couple of rounds.
He would never be satisfied with a single measly session of sex. However much to his disappointment, he was met with a sharp no from Zenith.
And so, they didn’t do much else but clean up afterwards. It took Zenith some time, but she recovered rather quickly.
Well, she would have still been sore since it was her first time, but she used some kind of dark flame spell to recover instantly. Elion sighed once again in disappointment, since he had been kind of looking forward to seeing her struggle a bit for the fun of it.
After that, they both dressed up, and now they were standing face to face. Zenith had just told him that she was going to somehow secretly take him out of the demon king’s castle.
He had been surprised to find that he was actually in the fabled demon’s personal castle, so he wondered if the demon king himself was somewhere close by?
Elion suddenly remembered Zenith complaining that ’he would see’, back when he had been leaving trailing love bites on her neck, which were still somewhat visible on the new high-neck dress she was wearing right now.
A bad feeling crept into him.
Zenith had still not told him who she was supposed to be exactly. If it turned out that she was the demon king’s daughter, a close relative, or worse yet... maybe even his wife... what would that man do if he found him here?
Would he kill him? Or castrate him for fucking this beautiful young demon woman?
Elion shivered slightly at the thought.
He really wanted to get out of here as quickly as possible now.
Still, it was not possible for her to be his wife, since she had been a virgin earlier, before Elion had skillfully taken it away from her. That is, unless the demon king was an impotent cuck who had never even touched his own wife.
From the many things that Zenith had spoken about, he could gather that a bit of time had passed, and he couldn’t help but think about how the war was going and how Zenovia and the others were doing.
Of course, Zenith had ended up ’sincerely’ apologising for the manner in which she chose to contact him, and also explained that she hadn’t expected him to wake so soon, since the methods she had used to put him out of commission were supposed to be effective for at least a month or so.
She had been beyond shocked when he told her that he had been awake for over three weeks now.
After punishing her with a few cracking slaps on her rippling ass cheeks, Elion finally ’forgave’ her for the oversight.
He finished putting on a new pair of simple boots Zenith had given him, then looked up to find her waiting patiently, while staring at him with her arms folded beneath her bosom.
Man...
He was still reveling in what had just happened.
This extremely beautiful, seductive demon had been at his mercy for the past hour or so... and sadly, it was now time to part ways with her, after only a single round.
’What a tragedy.’
He had been hoping to pound some demon pussy for a little longer, but unfortunately, it was not meant to be. ’I guess I should be thankful for the experience at least.’ He chuckled inwardly.
He suddenly stepped forward, closing the distance between them, and shocked Zenith by pulling her into his embrace, his hands settling around her waist, stopping just above her plush ass cheeks.
She grunted lightly and squirmed, trying to get out of his grip.
"I don’t care that this is only a trial, and that this may just be an illusion," Elion said firmly, "if there is a way, I will do my best to get you out of here."
He didn’t believe that everything he had just experienced with her was all just an illusion; there was no way. If it was, well, he would have to become a god and make it reality.
Zenith’s eyes trembled at his words. An odd light flashed through her enigmatic gaze.
She opened her mouth, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, she chose to stay quiet. A faint look of regret and longing passed through her expression, but she masked it quickly.
Then, after a brief pause, she simply nodded in response.
"Un."
Elion shifted the topic to a more pressing matter.
"So, how do you plan on getting me out of here? Won’t the other demons think I’m an enemy and attack me on sight?" Elion asked.
"That is indeed true," she agreed, "I brought you in here secretly, and I intend to keep it that way. We do have a few humans here, and all of them are slaves, and you wouldn’t want to end up the same way... Well, except for the three summoned heroes on our side."
"Oh, that’s right..." Elion nodded, "I hear you also have summoned heroes. Would you tell me about them? I want to know what to expect if I meet any of them on the battlefield... or is that a line you are not willing to cross?"
Zenith smiled lightly.
"I don’t mind telling you if you ask, but I don’t think that’s necessary; you don’t need to worry about any of them... you are far stronger than all of them combined."
"Oh?" he raised a brow, that was quite high praise coming from her, "and how do you know how strong I am?"
"I already told you," she replied calmly, "I know more about you than you think... perhaps even more than you know yourself."
Elion chortled.
"Heh... that is unsettling, but..."
"Don’t even try to ask," she cut him off before he could continue, "and about your statement earlier, you don’t need to worry about me, we will meet again. I’m sorry, but I can’t say any more than that."
Elion looked deeply into her eyes.
"I guess that will have to do for now. I have another question though." He exhaled lightly.
She nodded.
"Are you even loyal to your own demon kind? Who are you doing this for? Why are you doing this?"
She sighed softly.
"That’s three questions... I thought I told you not to ask..."
"Okay, okay, fine," Elion cut her off as he removed his hands from her waist, "if you don’t want me asking questions, then tell me what you can, anything at all."
She paused, thinking for a bit.
"Not much really... at least nothing that will be useful to you right now..." Her voice faded away, then her expression shifted slightly.
"Wait... actually, there is something."
Her gaze sharpened dangerously, and she paused before speaking, her tone suddenly colder and almost eerie.
"Don’t trust Liora."
Elion’s breath hitched, his body trembling slightly.
"How do you know Liora?"
He was really confused now.
She sighed again.
"More questions... and this is why I shouldn’t be telling you anything. I will give you a hint, though." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
She lifted up three fingers, her black nail polish catching the light.
"Three things."
"The ink of yearning."
"A dream affinity."
"And the incident at the tournament."
Elion went rigid. It was like a lightning bolt had shot through his body.
His mind suddenly connected everything he had been missing, everything he hadn’t understood about that incident, and he came to one simple conclusion.
’...It was Liora.’ He realised.
He was shocked, to say the least.
He didn’t need too many hints to figure out that his gamble with the ink had failed spectacularly, but he still wanted confirmation from Zenith, though he didn’t even attempt to think about how Liora could have outed him from just one simple use of the ink bottle.
The realization snapped something in him.
Sure, he had no one to blame but himself, and Liora’s personality had always been a bit off, and the love meter had been a good indicator of what she thought of him, but still...
He had really hoped that they had built something real, even over the short time they spent together while on DC duty.
It seemed it had been nothing more than wishful thinking on his side. It stung more than he thought to find out that she had been the one to betray him.
His gaze turned distant as he began overthinking everything.
"Don’t think too much of it," Zenith said suddenly as she placed a hand on his shoulder, bringing him back to the present.
But then again...
How did this demon woman seem to know so much about him? The questions made his head hurt. He was getting overwhelmed by the lack of information.
"Just be wary of her the next time you meet, and no matter what you do... don’t let her get close to you," she added sharply.
Elion frowned. Yet another cryptic warning.
He looked at her beautiful face intently.
He couldn’t understand it.
Why was she helping him?
Why had she done all this?
How did she seem to know so much about him?
And how could she know all this while being a simple demon inside an ancient trial that the system had thrown him into out of nowhere?
’What the fuck is going on...’
In the end, he forced himself to put those thoughts aside. He could keep thinking and keep making guesses, but more questions would just keep coming up.
If she wasn’t going to tell him anything, he was never going to figure it out with so little information.
He wasn’t supposed to be omniscient, though he wished he could be.
’...I guess I will just have to wait.’
"Anyway, you should get going now," Zenith said, "I have duties to attend to very soon."
Elion nodded.
She suddenly leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
"Thank you for taking my first time," she said lightly, "though I would have loved to spend more time together, the circumstances are a bit strained right now."
She paused slightly, then added with a soft chuckle, "However, if I find time while you are still in this trial, we can have some more... sexy adventures."
She leaned in again and kissed him lightly on the lips.
Elion tried to hold onto her and go deeper, but she suddenly pulled back, chuckling softly.
"I don’t trust you to keep your hands to yourself," she teased, "so you will have to wait until next time."
Elion laughed wryly.
"You know me so well... and it makes me uncomfortable."
She smiled lightly.
"You have a disguise spell, right?" she asked, "Use it so that we can get to the teleportation circle."
Elion nodded.
At this point, he had already given up on trying to understand this mysterious woman, so he didn’t even bother asking how she seemed to also know about his spell catalogue.
He cast the Mirage spell.
His face distorted, his features shifting as his skin turned a deep red, a single horn growing on his forehead, and his overall appearance became far less striking.
She nodded in silent approval.
"Good, let’s go."
She gestured toward the door as Elion followed behind her short and curvy figure.
