Lancelot looked at Li Wei. The normally stern man suddenly broke into a gentle smile.

"Is that so? That makes sense. I suppose I was overthinking things."

He had considered the possibility that Li Wei had obtained the Legendary Witch Lich’s Life Box.

However, the chances were too slim.

The wards a Legendary Witch Lich would place on its Life Box were impossible for a Tier Three Mage to break.

Li Wei would have likely died just from getting near the Life Box.

Li Wei didn’t want to discuss the matter any further either.

The more he said, the more he risked exposing.

He quickly asked, "Grand Archbishop, when will you help me purify the curse?"

Lancelot looked at him and said, "What you carry is an Evil God Curse, after all. I will need some time to prepare."

"I will inform you once the ritual is ready."

"Until then, you may stay and rest easy in the Divine Hall of Light."

Li Wei said, "Then please, Grand Archbishop, make your preparations soon. I feel like the curse is about to flare up."

Lancelot looked at Li Wei, contemplating for a moment.

"There is no need to rush. From the looks of it, you have at least two more months."

Li Wei’s heart skipped a beat. ’Is he sensing the curse from the Ring of Greed?’

The curses from the Ring of Sloth, Ring of Gluttony, and Ring of Arrogance were constantly active.

There was no concept of them "flaring up."

’Could it be that Lancelot didn’t sense them?’

Suddenly, Li Wei wasn’t so sure if Lancelot could actually purify the curses.

Lancelot watched Li Wei, a subtle flicker in his eyes.

’What’s this fellow thinking? Why the sudden doubt in me?’

He didn’t know what Li Wei was thinking.

However, he could read a person’s emotions.

It was an ability belonging to the followers of the Light God.

Noticing this, Lancelot reassured him, "At most, the ritual will be ready in three days. There’s no need to worry."

"Thank you for your trouble, Grand Archbishop."

Hearing that Lancelot would help purify the curse in three days, Li Wei’s anxiety subsided significantly.

Lancelot then questioned Li Wei about the Legendary Witch Lich.

Where had Li Wei found the Life Box?

And how did he know the Legendary Witch Lich wasn’t dead?

These were the points Lancelot was suspicious about.

Li Wei answered Lancelot’s questions with a mixture of truths and half-truths.

Lancelot couldn’t spot anything unusual, though he could sense that Li Wei was hiding things.

He had gotten the answers he wanted, so he wasn’t particularly concerned with what Li Wei might be hiding.

At the end of the day, Lancelot didn’t consider Li Wei very important.

He didn’t believe that whatever Li Wei was hiding could have much of an impact on the current situation.

Although the news Li Wei brought was shocking, he was ultimately just a Tier Three Mage.

The circles he could access weren’t very high-level.

To say nothing of the Legendary Domain.

After leaving the Holy Light Hall, Li Wei returned to his quarters.

For the past few days in the Divine Hall of Light, he hadn’t entered the Dream World.

He was afraid that Entering the Dream under the very eyes of the Gods would get him mistaken for a heretic.

All he did every day was stay in his room and read.

Thankfully, the curses were somewhat suppressed and weakened inside the Divine Hall of Light.

Otherwise, with the burden of the Ring of Sloth, the harder he tried to study, the less he would retain.

Although his Cultivation was still affected, at least reading a book didn’t trigger the Ring of Sloth.

Three days later, Lancelot personally presided over a purification ritual for Li Wei within the Divine Hall of Light.

Li Wei had heard Lancelot say it would take three days to prepare for the ritual.

He had expected a complex ceremony, but the process turned out to be exceptionally simple.

Li Wei stood before the statue of the Light God. Lancelot prayed to the Light God for a moment, then channeled divine power to purify the curse.

"Holy Light Purification!"

Holy Light enveloped Li Wei, and he felt as if he were bathing in an ocean of light.

A pleasant warmth spread through his entire body.

Suddenly, his body felt searingly hot.

Something inside his body was burning.

He opened his eyes and saw streams of gray, cursed energy turning to ash within the endless Holy Light, completely annihilated.

The Ring of Arrogance, the Ring of Greed, the Ring of Sloth, the Ring of Gluttony...

Li Wei also saw the auras of three curses that had not yet been triggered.

The Ring of Fury, which caused loss of control over one’s Power.

The Ring of Temptation, which caused uncontrollable lust.

The Ring of Envy, which caused fusion with all things.

The effects of the three remaining, untriggered curses of the Seven Rings were all terrifying.

If the Ring of Fury were triggered, his own Power would go berserk, even with his Mana Control Extraordinary Trait.

If the Ring of Temptation were triggered, Li Wei would lose control of his emotions, unable to remain calm. He would be overcome with intense lust and possessiveness toward any female he saw.

If the Ring of Envy were triggered, the curse would cause Li Wei to fuse with the features of his surroundings, turning him into an ugly, twisted monster.

Li Wei was immensely relieved that the remaining three curses had not been triggered.

’The Evil God Curse is truly terrifying!’

Once the purifying Holy Light dissipated, the Evil God Curse on Li Wei had been lifted.

The Ring of Arrogance vanished, and his Power was no longer restricted.

He breathed a huge sigh of relief as he felt his Power return.

With the Ring of Gluttony lifted, Li Wei no longer had to worry that eating would be an agonizing experience.

With the Ring of Sloth lifted, he no longer had to worry that trying to cultivate would actually cause him to regress.

The only one Li Wei was reluctant to see go was the Ring of Greed.

Li Wei mocked himself inwardly. ’Does this count as me being greedy?’

’Getting rid of the Evil God Curse should have been enough.’

’And yet I’m still thinking about how to profit from it.’

Li Wei shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it.

The Legendary Witch Lich would definitely come looking for him to take back the Life Box.

Li Wei was also contemplating how to deal with this predicament.

The simplest solution was obvious—hide in the Divine Hall of Light.

’If I hide here, the Legendary Witch Lich can’t possibly come to the Divine Hall of Light to find me, right?’

The problem was, staying in the Divine Hall of Light was also a form of restriction for Li Wei.

He would be safe here, that was certain.

However, his Cultivation would be restricted.

He wouldn’t dare enter the Dream World, and both his Magic practice and his study of Magic Knowledge would be constrained.

Li Wei wanted to return to the Elemental Tower.

He still had a seven-day Cultivation Card.

Yet, it hadn’t broken into the Secret Realm to retrieve its Life Box.

Clearly, it must be wary of the Elemental Tower.

It didn’t dare to challenge the Elemental Tower recklessly.

From this, he concluded that the Power within the Elemental Tower was greater than that of the Legendary Witch Lich.

But the problem was that while the Elemental Tower was strong, Li Wei himself was weak.

What if the Legendary Witch Lich could bypass the Elemental Tower’s defenses and find Li Wei directly?

No matter how strong the Elemental Tower was, Li Wei would still be a dead man.

However, the same logic seemed to apply to the Divine Hall of Light.

It was just that the Divine Hall of Light had a Divine Spirit backing it, making it seem a bit more reliable than the Elemental Tower.
