Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill
Chapter 254: The Hall of Truth’s Invitation
Li Wei left Valen’s room.
He returned to his own room.
He kept thinking about the "coincidence" from earlier.
His intuition told him that this was definitely no coincidence.
Giant Dragons had vanished for hundreds of years, yet in a short period, he had encountered two incidents related to them.
Li Wei didn’t even believe it himself if someone told him the two incidents were unrelated.
GROWL!
Li Wei’s stomach protested, pulling him from his thoughts.
’Whatever. If it’s going to hurt, it’s going to hurt. I need to eat first!’
"ARGH~"
The Magic Butler, Kuro, looked at Li Wei’s room with a puzzled expression.
"Why does Lord Li Wei look like he’s in so much pain every time he eats?"
He turned his head to the maid puppet and asked, "Is your cooking not good?"
The maid puppet shook her head. "I don’t know. The master has never said it was bad."
"Perhaps Lord Li Wei’s tastes are just a little different. Tomorrow, I’ll go buy something delicious for him."
"Understood."
After finishing his meal, Li Wei chugged three bottles of Middle Level Magic Potion in one go.
His stomach of gluttony was like a bottomless pit, absorbing all the Power from the Magic Potions in just a few short minutes.
Li Wei’s Mana soared.
[Crystal Meditation Method (Tier Three)] 902/10000
After enduring the pain of self-consumption, Li Wei’s resolve to break the curse was further strengthened.
’I’m still 57.25 Credit Points short of one hundred. I can make it up by participating in two more combat course missions at most.’
Hope was in sight. Li Wei encouraged himself to hold on a little longer, and the difficult days would pass.
At night, Li Wei slipped into the Dream World.
He used the eight-fold time dilation to cultivate his Magic and study its principles.
The books Valen had given him were all copied into the Dream World.
Here, he had ample time to study.
After a period of study, Li Wei also acquired a new Skill.
[Magic Knowledge (Tier One)] 4621/10000
Li Wei was gradually transforming from a magical illiterate into a great magical scholar.
Given enough time, he would sooner or later master all the Magic Knowledge in the world.
Tier One Magic Knowledge gave Li Wei the ability to identify common Magic Items, Magic Plants, Magic Beasts, and other such things.
The next day, Li Wei went to the Elemental Tower, planning to find Balaha and ask for information.
Just as he reached the entrance, he was stopped by several Mages wearing pointed, round-brimmed magic hats.
"Are you Li Wei?"
Li Wei was a little surprised. "Is there something I can help you with?"
"Excellent! We finally found you," one of them exclaimed.
Li Wei was puzzled. ’What do these people want with me?’
He observed their attire and remembered something.
This kind of ancient-style Mage garb belonged to researchers from the Hall of Truth.
True theoretical Mages.
They revered the ideas of Ancient Mages, so their clothing also resembled that of the ancients.
It looked a bit old-fashioned.
Knowing that these people were theoretical Mages, Li Wei breathed a small sigh of relief and wasn’t so tense anymore.
Theoretical Mages were a group dedicated to studying Magic Knowledge; they rarely got into conflicts with others.
Even when conflicts did arise, they were limited to disagreements over concepts and knowledge.
Hobbes looked at Li Wei and asked excitedly, "Was the modification to the Fire Snake Skill’s Magic Model your idea?"
Li Wei nodded. "Yes. Is there a problem?"
He quickly waved his hands. "No, no, no! It’s not that there’s a problem—it’s that it’s absolutely perfect!"
"I’ve been studying the Fire Snake Skill for years and never thought it could be modified like this. This could almost elevate it to the level of a Tier Three Magic."
Someone beside him hurriedly asked, "Did you also create the Moving Fire Wall Skill?"
Li Wei nodded. "That’s right."
"So what do you want? If it’s nothing, I need to get to class."
Hobbes took a deep breath and said, "We want to invite you to join the Hall of Truth and research Magic with us."
"Your talent for innovating Magic is just too strong. The Vice Hall Master of the Hall of Truth saw it and was full of praise."
"If you join the Hall of Truth, you’ll definitely be able to create even more unconventional Magic in the future."
Li Wei was about to shake his head and refuse.
But then Hobbes said, "I showed the Vice Hall Master the Magic Models you improved last time. He wanted to ask your opinion: would you agree to contribute the improved Magic Models to the library? If you’re willing, the Hall of Truth is prepared to give you fifteen Credit Points as compensation."
Li Wei’s eyes widened in astonished disbelief.
"What did you say?"
"Fifteen Credit Points for me?"
Hobbes nodded. "The Magic Models you improved are all commonly used by Mages, so their value is far greater than fifteen Credit Points. However, this is the most the Vice Hall Master can offer."
"Additionally, if you’re willing to join the Hall of Truth, you’ll get a fifty percent discount on learning all Magic in the future."
"I’ll join!"
Li Wei said without hesitation.
He never knew before that he could get Credit Points for improving Magic Models.
It seemed like the rewards were even faster than those from combat course missions.
And he could improve far more than just these few Magic Models.
How many Tier One and Tier Two Fire Element Magic were there?
At least a hundred.
If he improved every single one, wouldn’t that mean hundreds of Credit Points?
Improving Magic Models wasn’t difficult for Li Wei.
It was just a matter of spending some time on derivations.
This was much easier than combat course missions.
Not to mention the even more numerous Tier Zero Magic.
When Hobbes heard Li Wei was willing to join the Hall of Truth, a smile appeared on his face.
The group excitedly led Li Wei to the Hall of Truth.
On the way, Li Wei ran into Paphit and Anthony.
Anthony saw Li Wei, stopped, and stared at him. "Li Wei, I’ve already broken through to Tier Three."
Li Wei gave him a strange look. "Oh? And what does that have to do with me?"
Anthony’s expression changed slightly.
He snorted coldly and said, "It means that since I’m already a Tier Three Mage, I won’t bully someone weaker than me. I can’t be bothered to argue with you."
"Let’s go."
Anthony turned, and Paphit shot Li Wei an arrogant, provocative look.
Li Wei took out the Tier Three Magic Badge he had acquired last night, breathed on it, and polished it where it was pinned to his chest.
"Oh, Tier Three? I think I am too."
Anthony’s footsteps stopped.
He turned his head back, staring in disbelief at the Three-star Badge on Li Wei’s chest.
"You!"
The arrogant look on Paphit’s face froze.
Anthony asked in disbelief, "When did you break through?"
Li Wei chuckled, not bothering to answer his question.
’What a punk. It’s just Tier Three, who’s he trying to impress? As if he’s the only Tier Three Mage here.’
Seeing this, Hobbes asked, "Mage Li Wei, are they your friends?"
Li Wei shook his head. "Never met them. Let’s go."
Anthony’s face instantly flushed red, and his fists clenched.
"Damn it!"
Hobbes nodded. "Oh, okay. Then let’s be on our way."
He didn’t find it suspicious at all when Li Wei said he didn’t know Anthony and Paphit.
There were so many Mages in the Elemental Tower; it was perfectly normal not to know everyone.
