Chapter 505 - 89: Death of the "Gentleman
In the case of Heavy Armor Soldiers cooperating with Wizards, the battle presented a one-sided situation. Any Heavy Armor Soldier could rush into Chenxi’s position and commence slaughter.
Only large-caliber weapons were somewhat effective against them, but large-caliber weapons often meant a lack of flexibility, and hitting the target was another matter.
Yet Chenxi still executed an absolute strategy — no retreat, no defense, only attack.
If they were to die, they would die on the path forward; overall, it looked more like a suicidal charge.
·······
The sky was pitch-black, dark clouds churning, fine rain falling, creating small pits in the ground, the air was thick with the pungent scent of the sea, somewhat acrid.
"With me here, how can you advance a single step!"
A young man leaning on a cane, dressed in a deep black trench coat, stood straight and gazed ahead with an indifferent expression, speaking calmly.
Thousands of silver skull Totems unfolded around him, some laughing, some crying, some dancing. Their forms were varied, as if embodying all possible human expressions.
A colossal red vertical eye stood in the sky, confronting him.
The Totems displayed astonishing power, the force they erupted temporarily dominated this realm.
Just now, he caught them off guard and killed five Sapphire-robed Wizards and one Red Robed Wizard.
"No, Chu Caiming, don’t······"
Jiang Wei leaned against the armored vehicle, eyes wide open, shouting loudly, one hand clutching a handful of soil, her vision blurred by blood, vaguely seeing a silhouette.
A giant tentacle sprouted from her abdomen, swaying and writhing in the rain.
Covered in blood, his upper body bare and his face gaunt, Otto staggered up from the ground, laughing madly:
"Is this it, is this all your strength? How laughable is it? A weakling should learn to bow."
The crow’s wings were broken and it lay on the ground nearby, not quite dead yet, but close to it.
Purple beams shot out from between his hands, shattering the surrounding skull Totems one by one, pinning Chu Caiming down until no Totems remained.
Chu Caiming’s chest was pierced by the purple beam, yet he did not collapse immediately, his eyes bloodshot:
"I’d rather die standing."
"Subjugation is the act of the weak."
"You should die too!"
The last skull Totem hidden underground shattered.
Blue light filled the surrounding space, extending endlessly, as if everything was frozen, yet also rapidly decaying.
A Sapphire Crown appeared on his forehead.
Looking again, Chu Caiming was only a skull, flesh and blood dissipating in the blue light, hollow eye sockets hovering with a ghostly blue flame.
"You, you······"
Otto’s face showed panic, feeling the approach of death: "What have you done."
"Die!"
Chu Caiming spread his hands, an indescribable aura rose from him, and the surrounding Wizards observing the situation collapsed to the ground, their bodies rapidly turning into skeletons.
Jiang Wei watched Chu Caiming’s now-emaciated figure with trembling eyes, her mouth full of blood, unable to utter a word.
The tentacle rapidly withered, drying up under the radiation of the blue light.
Chu Caiming’s skeletal knees hit the ground, fully becoming a skeleton, without a trace of flesh.
A skeleton cannot stand, without flesh, without tendons, without nerves.
At least scientifically speaking, that’s the case.
"Why?"
Otto fell to the ground again, showing reluctance: "I was to become the Wizard King, how could I die at the hands of a worm like you."
He was powerful, stronger than anyone thought. Today was also meant for him to show his value to his teacher, yet a small accident occurred.
He quickly crawled towards Chu Caiming, whispering a spell, aiming to eliminate Chu Caiming immediately and stop the blue light.
This blue light was decaying his vitality; he had to kill Chu Caiming at once to end it, or he would certainly die.
Both were exhausted, victory within a hair’s breadth.
"Clap~"
Chu Caiming’s body was crushed by Otto’s slap, the skeletal framework scattered across the ground, the ghostly fire in the eye sockets dissipating.
The blue light quickly faded away.
Otto gasped heavily, a victorious smile on his dry face.
······
Chenxi’s Apocalypse, "Gentleman," Chu Caiming had died.
The friend’s avatar dimmed.
Ultimately, he couldn’t survive.
"Is he really dead?"
Su Changxing licked his dry lips, surprised yet unsurprised.
Chu Caiming was one of the strongest in their world, but if one courts death, dying is quite normal.
Su Changxing just felt it a pity; Chu Caiming had great potential and should not have died this way.
The power of an Apocalypse is too great.
With communication cut off, no one could stop him.
Many had died, and the Wizards became chaotic, several retreating from Chenxi’s position.
They were afraid, afraid of death, everyone feared it.
Terror can spread rapidly among people.
At that moment, Su Changxing saw that powerful Wizard, holding a Magic Staff, flying straight across the sky towards Chenxi’s position.
"Finally willing to show himself."
Su Changxing’s face bore a cold smile, his eyes filled with indifference.
He had waited a long time!
From a relatively close distance, he suddenly raised his gun, his eyes deep and dark, firing dozens of transparent ghostly blue bullets like scattered flowers.
One particularly deep-colored bullet bypassed the others, disappearing into the Darkness.
The Wizard plummeted from the sky, then twelve Netherworld Bombs streamed through his body one by one.
These Wizards had incredibly strong bodies; attacking from the Spirit might be more effective.
"Did it work?"
Su Changxing’s eyes showed a hint of joy, immediately switching to Dark bullets engraved with Talismans, shooting at the falling Wizard’s body.
These Dark bullets, infused with destructive physical effects, were a type of Magic Pattern Technology, also procured from the Doomsday Shop.
However, Su Changxing couldn’t replicate the bullets, containing unknown yet crucial knowledge.
All thirty-two bullets hit the Wizard’s body before he reached the ground.
This was the best possible outcome he could foresee.
Soon after, several Wizards sensed the commotion and rushed to their location, quite a number, around ten to twenty.
But these Wizards appeared uneasy; the fact that a conference Wizard was knocked down from the sky and his fate unknown made them anxious.
Before these Wizards could approach, several blinding white lights flash erupted in the nearby area, violent explosions orderly expanding, engulfing them.
Su Changxing turned his head to see Jin retreating as planned, and immediately turned and ran in the other direction, without a backward glance.
He didn’t know whether he had killed or severely injured that powerful Wizard; killing him would be ideal, but if not, he had to flee.
He had unleashed the strongest attack he could; without effect, he truly was powerless. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Perhaps he truly couldn’t bridge the gap between real strength, even with all sorts of methods.
Su Changxing sensed that the Wizard was not dead.
