Global Deities: Rising as Wood Elves' God
Chapter 55: New Continent, New Opportunities
The Subspace was a wondrous place; anything could appear within it.
No one ever knew if the next moment would bring a fortunate encounter or a terrible disaster.
This was a fact proven by everything from school textbooks to everyday information.
Take Sima Yuan, for instance.
Sima Yuan had told Zhang Yi that his Divine Realm had encountered a continent, from which he had acquired a good number of Dwarves.
The news had made Zhang Yi quite envious at the time.
After all, Dwarves were an excellent Clan.
Although the greater classification of ’Dwarf’ could be divided into many branches, such as Burrow Dwarves, Cave Dwarves, and Volcano Dwarves...
But no matter the branch, all Dwarves shared a few common traits:
A love for drinking, collecting Ore, and forging Weapons!
Every Dwarf was a born master of minerals. Their inherited knowledge allowed them to easily identify where certain types of Ore could be found just by observing the terrain.
After finding the Ore, Dwarves would forge it into high-quality Weapons.
Even though they might never use these Weapons in their lifetime.
Then, after a satisfying session of forging, a Dwarf loved nothing more than to knock back a few drinks!
It was their way of relaxing.
Therefore, as he watched the continent being pulled by the Power of fate, drifting toward his Divine Realm, Zhang Yi fervently hoped that the approaching landmass held the Clans he desired.
Whether it was Wood Elves, other types of Elves, or even Dwarves, goblins, or Tree-men...
Encountering even one of them would mean his Four-Stars, fate-type Divine Domain Card, "Fated Encounter," had not been wasted.
And so, in the vast Subspace, a floating continent had begun its journey the day before.
Pulled by the Power of fate, it had changed course mid-journey and was now drifting toward Zhang Yi’s Divine Realm.
During its journey,
the continent had passed through many regions of the Subspace.
As a result, for the creatures living on it,
the weather might be a torrential downpour one second and pleasantly warm the next.
One moment it could be a world of ice and snow, the next, a land under a scorching sun.
As the continent drew nearer to Zhang Yi’s Divine Realm,
he could see it with increasing clarity.
Although the drifting continent was somewhat small—less than half the size of his own Divine Realm—
it was home to a great many Clans!
Zhang Yi’s consciousness hovered at the highest point of his Divine Realm,
looking down,
he saw the figures of the various Clans on the approaching landmass!
There were Dwarves and Elves—Clans Zhang Yi desired—
as well as Half-beastmen like Jackal-wolfmen and Kobolds.
However, as Zhang Yi gazed at the approaching continent,
he could see that the situation there was not good.
The continent appeared to have come from a cold region of the Subspace.
It was still covered in a great deal of unmelted ice and snow.
From his vantage point at the highest peak of his Divine Realm, Zhang Yi could clearly see
that most of the lakes on that continent were frozen over.
Furthermore, judging by the thickness of the snow, this weather must have persisted for a long time.
Many Elves, similar in appearance to Wood Elves, were huddled together, seemingly unable to bear the freezing weather.
Seeing this, Zhang Yi’s heart ached.
’These are all my future Clan members!’
’And those Dwarves living in the mountains...’
’...no matter which branch they belong to...’
’...once I acquire them, I can have this group of Dwarves work for me. They have a high probability of finding copper or Iron Ore within my Divine Realm!’
When the two continents were extremely close,
Zhang Yi could feel the Power of fate.
And so,
under Zhang Yi’s control,
the continent, not yet fully thawed,
did not crash straight into his.
Instead, the closer the continent got to Zhang Yi’s Divine Realm, the slower it moved.
In fact, at the moment it was closest but had not yet collided,
Zhang Yi was able to control the continent’s trajectory for a temporary docking.
And so, under Zhang Yi’s guidance,
the floating continent connected with the right side of his Divine Realm.
It nestled tightly against the right side of the "L" shape.
BOOM!
A collision, much gentler than Zhang Yi had anticipated, sounded as the two continents made formal contact.
At that moment, standing on Luqiu Ridge on the eastern side of the Divine Realm,
over one hundred Wood Elves and Natural Elves witnessed the entire event.
If they hadn’t witnessed it with their own eyes, they wouldn’t have believed it even if other Wood Elves and Natural Elves told them about it later.
Because Zhang Yi had discovered the continent in advance,
he had ordered Feiyana to lead the Wood Elf Corps here.
Since this was not a life-or-death crisis like before,
there was no need for all the Wood Elves to be conscripted and sent to the battlefield.
The Wood Elf Corps this time consisted of just over one hundred members.
The rest of the Wood Elves were all busy at work within the Divine Realm.
Even so, the one hundred-plus Wood Elves and Natural Elves who had come to Luqiu Ridge,
could only feel a deep, profound shock in their hearts as they watched the scene that left them speechless.
In that moment, all the Wood Elves and Natural Elves began to pray for the protection of the great Elf God.
Fortunately, Zhang Yi had the foresight
not only to have Feiyana lead the Wood Elf Corps, but also to have Elf High Priest Shamiel come as well.
Soothed by Elf High Priest Shamiel in the name of the great Elf God,
the Wood Elves and Natural Elves finally calmed down.
Then, they began to act, following the first step of the Oracle that Zhang Yi had delivered previously.
When Zhang Yi had seen the ice-covered continent from above,
he knew a precious opportunity had presented itself.
If he made good use of this chance,
the resistance he would face in subjugating this group of Elves and Dwarves would be much weaker.
That’s right.
Zhang Yi never imagined that just by having Feiyana and Shamiel lead the Wood Elf Corps to greet them,
the Elves from the other continent would immediately prostrate themselves in submission.
Even members of the same Clan could fight for power and position for millennia.
To say nothing of an unfamiliar, different Clan trying to subjugate another,
that was a far more difficult task.
Therefore, Zhang Yi had to seize this opportunity and make the most of it.
Since the continent had come from a frigid part of the Subspace,
even if it had now left that cold region behind,
it was still trapped in icy weather.
The ice and snow were not melting quickly.
In other words, this was the most difficult moment for these Clans.
If, at a time like this, Zhang Yi’s Wood Elves and Natural Elves could provide them with timely aid,
even if he couldn’t completely subjugate them, he could at least leave a good impression.
According to Zhang Yi’s calculations,
relying on the remaining Power of fate,
he could keep this continent docked next to his Divine Realm for a week at most.
After seven days,
the continent would detach from his Divine Realm and resume its wandering through the other regions of the Subspace.
Therefore, Zhang Yi had to seize every minute and every second to subjugate the Clans he wanted as quickly as possible.
