Game World: I Can Share Talents
Chapter 253 - 13: Legendary Specialty
[This is the fullness of clarity, cleansing the filth of the Mortal World.]
[You have ascended to the Celestial Rank, stepping into the realm of the Extraordinary to Saint.]
Every leap in Tier brought an intensely shocking change. The pleasure of having one’s very essence of life sublimated by the world’s source was an indescribable ecstasy!
The first thing Westheid felt was a surging, fulfilling warmth washing through his entire body. During the ascension, every drop of his blood, every fiber of his flesh, and every piece of his bone felt as if it were being crushed and reassembled.
However, this process of being broken down to his very bones only brought a faint stinging sensation. What was more prominent was the feeling of release as all the heavy, murky dregs within his body were expelled.
A Tier promotion didn’t immediately increase one’s strength; rather, it broke one’s limiters.
The strengthening a mortal could obtain by training their body and cultivating Magic Power had a threshold. Each promotion raised this threshold, increasing one’s capacity for the Extraordinary. In essence, it was a return to one’s natural state, drawing closer to the world’s primordial form.
After all, the entire Mortal World was but a lone island in the Sea of Chaos.
’But I don’t care about these principles. I can grasp the gist of these metaphysical powers just by experiencing them. Delving into them academically is the inferior path—it’s impure!’
More than breaking his limiters, Westheid was concerned with the special Specialty he would draw after ascending to the Legendary Tier.
Every promotion to the Legendary Tier awakens a special Legendary Specialty. This is the key to how Legendary Powerhouses can crush those below them. Even if someone reached this stage through sheer effort without a single decent Talent or Specialty beforehand, the Legendary Tier does not permit mediocrity.
’They just hand you a top-tier T1 Specialty!’
’It’s nowhere near as good as a Tier T0 Talent, of course, but who doesn’t like free stuff?’
’Come on... I’ll take anything, whether it’s [Arcane Venerable] to enhance my Casting, or [Guardian of Order] with its focus on anti-Chaos abilities.’
’Just please don’t give me something like [Hundred Martial Arts], which has over eighty percent overlap with [Knightly Hundred Arts].’ 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
[You have comprehended the Specialty [Saint of Flesh and Blood] from your promotion.]
[Saint of Flesh and Blood]
[Through extreme training and refinement, your body has been forged to perfection. You can now completely control every part of your body and its every movement.]
[Constitution, Stamina, and Strength are greatly increased. All damage taken is slightly reduced.]
’So it’s this Legendary Specialty, huh?’
Westheid was very satisfied. Although [Saint of Flesh and Blood] wasn’t the strongest of the Legendary Specialties, it was the most suitable for him.
’A simple, pure stat boost. Brain-dead powerful.’
’The Specialty I drew is pretty good. Now to test out the Legendary traits I’ve been theorycrafting for so long...’
"Huuuuuh—"
Westheid let out a long breath. He stood atop the crown of the Corrupted Holy Tree as it slowly turned to ash, looking down on the crowd below.
Then, he took a light step, planting his foot on the empty air.
Ripples spread out from where Westheid’s feet touched, as he walked through the air as if on solid ground.
Without using any Magic, Westheid simply focused his attention and walked down as if descending an invisible staircase.
This display of Void Stepping, this descent from the sky, made everyone on the ground stare with wide eyes.
Yolanda’s voice trembled as she spoke:
"Brother! You... you’ve ascended to the Legendary Tier?"
In truth, the effect of floating and flying could be achieved with many types of Magic at the Prominent and Exemplar Tiers.
However, that was merely a superficial resemblance. There was a world of difference between simple levitation and the flight of a Legend.
The reason Legendary Powerhouses were also known by the title "Celestial Rank" was because after reaching the Legendary Tier, they could dispel the turbidity of the Mortal World’s earth, leaving behind only the purest Extraordinary Power.
In other words, those of the Legendary Celestial Rank even needed to concentrate just to keep their feet on the ground; otherwise, they would constantly be in a state of levitation.
One could tell if someone was a Legend just by looking at their aerial posture. The way those of the Legendary Celestial Rank moved as if on solid ground was simply too natural.
’This is the Anti-Gravity Realm, kid!’
"What’s wrong? Is it so surprising that I’ve ascended to the Legendary Tier?"
Westheid tilted his head up slightly. Amidst the embers filling the sky, the incomparably handsome face of Duke Qinghui wore a smug smile.
"I must have been really underestimated, then."
"No, it’s just that the speed of your promotion... is simply astonishing."
Yolanda quickly shook her head.
No one had ever doubted whether Westheid could reach the Legendary Tier. In fact, in all the years of the Mortal World, you could basically tell if someone was a candidate for the Legendary Tier by the time they reached the Prominent Tier. You could see their entire future at a glance. Yolanda, for example, had been considered a Legendary seed when she was in the Imperial Capital.
Barring any accidents, with steady growth, she had the potential to become a Legend... But a seed only has the potential to become a Legend. How long it takes to achieve that is another matter entirely.
Some geniuses advanced by leaps and bounds within ten years of first becoming Extraordinary, while other prospects languished for decades before ascending to the Celestial Rank. The gap between the two could not be overstated.
But in any case, Westheid’s promotion speed was enough to break all records, past and present. Four years ago, the newly enthroned Duke Qinghui had only been at the Elite Tier. After that, he wasted two years fooling around in the Imperial Capital. In other words, Duke Qinghui had skipped several Tiers in just two years!
Those who knew this all looked at Westheid with something akin to reverence, their eyes shimmering with endless emotion.
Westheid was extremely pleased with the feeling of showing off in front of everyone, but he knew it wasn’t due to his own Talent.
’It’s the confidence brought to me by my dual Tier T0 Talents!’
"It’s just the Legendary Tier. Nothing to make a fuss about."
Westheid slowly descended from the air to the ground, waved his hand dismissively, and said:
"At this level, I’ve barely managed to escape my status as a pawn. I can only be a little more at ease, that’s all."
"You really are..."
Yolanda was about to lose the will to retort. While it was true that even a Legendary Powerhouse couldn’t act with complete impunity, it was still a Tier of the Extraordinary to Saint. In any nation, they would be a heavyweight figure holding a high position. In smaller countries, they would be an undisputed guardian god and Dominator. Even the Branch of Prosperity, at its peak, had at most one or two Legends.
She just assumed her "Brother" was getting carried away by his success and that responding would be admitting defeat. So, she silently bowed her head and said no more.
However, Westheid wasn’t just humblebragging; he truly thought that way.
Perhaps before the era of strife, the prestige of the Legendary Celestial Rank was sufficient, but from this moment on, the Legendary Tier would no longer be an insurmountable chasm.
The Chaos Shock not only severed the connection between the Supreme Heaven and the Mortal World, but it also scattered the origin of Chaos everywhere. The Law of the Celestial Gods was a form of protection, but also a restriction. When that Law fades, the Mortal World will enter an age of savage growth.
’In other words, a spiritual energy resurgence... no, a spiritual energy torrent.’
