Chapter 141: Chapter 141: This Raccoon Cat Doesn’t Seem Ordinary

"Sylvie, wake up. It’s time to head back." Shen Yibin walked over to the car and knocked on the window. He figured she would need some time to wake up and change, so he decided to let Hah’Er and Egg sleep a little longer. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Let me sleep a little longer... I haven’t had enough sleep yet!" Sylvie answered groggily. Apparently, she had been sleeping quite comfortably in the car.

"If we don’t leave now, we’ll hit the evening rush hour on the way back to the city. Getting stuck in traffic will be no fun at all." Shen Yibin knocked harder on the window, finally rousing Sylvie.

"Mmmph..." Sylvie sat up, eyes half-closed, and stretched. As she did, her deep cleavage came into Shen Yibin’s direct line of sight. Caught completely off guard, he felt a wave of dizziness. ’It’s a bottomless abyss...’ He quickly spun around and walked away. "You get changed. I’ll go wake the other two."

"Hah’Er, wake up." Blushing, he ran onto the grass and nudged Hah’Er’s shoulder. But the big guy just swatted his hand away with a paw, rolled over, and went right back to snoring.

"Hah’Er, if you don’t get up now, we’re leaving without you!" He tried again, pushing a little harder, but Hah’Er still didn’t react.

"Hah’Er, dinner’s ready! We’re having stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots tonight!" ’Heh, I refuse to believe this won’t wake you,’ he thought.

"Huh?!" The moment he heard "food," Hah’Er shot right up. He opened his eyes, looked left and right, and started sniffing the air, as if trying to locate the stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots.

Once he was fully awake and realized he was still by the river with not a single trace of food in sight, Hah’Er grew dejected. He turned around, presenting the back of his head to Shen Yibin and huffing in displeasure.

"There, there. I’ll make it for you as soon as we get back." Shen Yibin tickled him under the arm, and Hah’Er started giggling. The last bit of crankiness from being woken up vanished into thin air.

Hah’Er slowly got to his feet. Shen Yibin stood up and prepared to pack up the fishing rods, bucket, and barbecue grill. He left the task of waking Egg to his sworn brother. "Hah’Er, go wake up Egg. I’ll pack up our things."

"Okay!" Hah’Er grunted in response. He covered his head with his front paws, curled into a ball, and went rolling down the grassy slope. But he hit a bump halfway down, lost control, and with a loud THUD, crashed right into Egg.

’Oh, crap,’ Shen Yibin thought, his nerves instantly on edge. ’I barely touched Hah’Er to wake him up and he was full of morning grumpiness. After a stunt like that, what’s going to happen with Egg? They’re not going to start a fight, are they?’ He braced himself, ready to rush over and break it up at a moment’s notice.

However... even after that forceful collision, Egg didn’t react at all. He just lay there on the grass, continuing to let out earth-shaking snores, seemingly completely undisturbed.

"Hmph!" Hah’Er rubbed his head, seemingly confused as to why the little guy was sleeping like the dead. He circled Egg twice, then grabbed Egg’s shoulders with both paws, pulled him into a sitting position, and began shaking him violently. Egg’s head wobbled back and forth like a bobblehead. ’That’s gotta wake you up, right?’

However... Hah’Er was to be disappointed. Egg’s head just drooped, a trickle of drool running from the corner of his mouth. His eyelids seemed to be cast from iron; they simply refused to open.

Hmm? Hah’Er looked around, then dropped Egg back on the ground with a THUD. He scampered over to the river, cupped his paws to scoop up some cold water, and returned. At first, he let the water drip onto Egg’s face one drop at a time. Then he just splashed the entire handful on him. But even that only made Egg raise a paw to wipe his face, his eyes still firmly shut.

Exasperated, Hah’Er plopped down on the grass, panting heavily, at a complete loss for what to do. By now, Shen Yibin had finished packing up and was calling to him from a distance, "Hah’Er, are you ready yet? We need to go!"

"Hmph!" Frustrated, Hah’Er simply got up, grabbed Egg’s right leg, and started dragging him up the grassy slope. Egg’s head bumped along the uneven ground—BUMP, BUMP, BUMP—but even that couldn’t stop his snores.

After finally dragging Egg all the way to the car, Hah’Er collapsed on the ground, panting with his mouth wide open. The journey of a few dozen meters had completely exhausted him. Both Shen Yibin and Sylvie stared, dumbfounded.

Their gazes seemed to ask, ’Hey, aren’t you two sworn brothers? Why are you tormenting him like that?’ In response, Hah’Er just pointed innocently at Egg’s eyes. The little guy was still out cold.

Shen Yibin and Sylvie also tried to wake Egg, but to no avail. Shen Yibin could only sigh. "Ah, well. I guess he drank too much. Let’s just put him in the back seat and let him sleep it off." ’Still,’ he thought, ’this is way better than when Hah’Er gets drunk and throws a fit. Looks like Egg not only has a higher tolerance than Hah’Er, but he holds his liquor much better, too.’

"You drive. I’m going to close my eyes for a bit." He let Sylvie take the driver’s seat while he settled into the passenger side and closed his eyes. Finally, Shen Yibin could get some sleep too.

They timed their return perfectly, managing to get through the most congested roads just before the evening rush hour. They made it back to the shop without a hitch. Egg still hadn’t woken up. If it weren’t for his earth-shaking snores, Shen Yibin would have started to worry that something was wrong with the little guy.

"Oh my, what happened to Egg?" Sun Qian exclaimed, startled, as Shen Yibin carried him out of the car.

"He’s fine, just had a bit too much to drink. He should be okay after he sleeps it off." Shen Yibin carried him upstairs, placed him in his little bed, tucked him in, and then went out with Hah’Er to buy groceries.

Just as they finished cooking and were setting the food on the table, the snoring suddenly stopped. Egg appeared by the dining table, eyelids drooping. The little guy was finally awake. Everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.

During dinner, Egg kept glancing over at Sylvie, clearly hoping for another drink. This time, however, Sylvie flatly refused. It wasn’t that she was afraid of him getting drunk; it was just that his post-drinking snores were far too loud. If he had any more, no one would get a wink of sleep that night.

Frustrated, Egg had no choice but to vent his energy through dancing. That evening, he really showed off his moves in the plaza at the entrance of Baiyun District. His array of fast-paced steps left Mrs. Wang and the others struggling to keep up.

As usual, Egg’s dancing attracted a crowd, many of whom pulled out their phones to record videos and upload them to the internet. And just like that, Egg gradually started to become famous online.

In a city far from Yunzhong, a girl of about eighteen or nineteen sat in front of her computer, watching Egg’s dancing. A glance at her browser history would show it was filled almost exclusively with videos of Egg’s performances.

"There’s something special about this Raccoon Cat," the girl murmured to herself after finishing the last video.
