EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school
Chapter 1267: Poison (8)
I sat on the bed in the tiger’s residence, waiting for him.
Come on, hurry up.
What’s taking him so long? Is he just procrastinating with nothing to do?
As I kept urging him internally, I heard a knock on the door.
Knock knock.
I guess he was trying to show manners by knocking like that, but from my point of view, it was infuriating.
I urged him again to hurry and come in.
I don’t know what it feels like to read someone’s thoughts with a guardian spirit, but I kept thinking about it to the point of making noise.
Then, with a low laugh, the door opened.
I said it was okay for him to come in, not that it was okay for him to laugh like that. I don’t get why he’s so happy.
“That’s quite nice. Do you know how much my friends envy me for being able to read your thoughts?”
“I didn’t ask.”
“I asked what was nice, so I answered.”
I thought it in my head, not asked out loud, though.
Instead of refuting, the white tiger just smiled.
“Tell me where you’ve been.”
“I met the Blue Dragon and Black Tortoise today.”
“Not today.”
He was only talking about things he already knew, and I was getting frustrated.
Judging by the fact that he appeared without trying to hide, I knew he wasn’t planning to conceal anything. But I guess he just enjoys watching me get irritated.
“You told me to go see the newcomer while the other tiger clans were absent. As you predicted, Ye Beom-young was there.”
The white tiger, finally stopping his laugh, mentioned his purpose.
“Told me to go see Gong Cheong-hwon?”
Hearing Ye Beom-young’s name immediately made the situation clear.
‘Eun Jae-ho, Black Tiger, and Hwang Yoo-ho have all been absent. Ye Beom-young must have been quite lonely. I wonder if he’s okay.’
Gwangil Elementary School, where Cheongho and Dokgo Miro graduated from, was in chaos in many ways.
Ye Beom-young grew up bright and unbent in the midst of that muck, and after the kind Hwang Yoo-ho helped stabilize the school, he became even kinder. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
The tiger clans were kind to Ye Beom-young, but during this incident, they couldn’t offer much support.
Coincidentally, Gong Cheong-hwon, who often volunteered at orphanages, was also excluded from this incident, so Ye Beom-young probably received more attention from him.
‘While they were together, they used the absence of the tiger clans to move the white tiger.’
The white tiger nodded as if pleased.
I just said it was right, but I didn’t like the fact that he acted like he was in the know.
Ignoring the white tiger’s pretentiousness, I continued thinking.
‘Ye Beom-young was at a different orphanage than the one Gong Cheong-hwon volunteered at. The orphanage integration didn’t happen at Plumago, so there was no intersection between them.’
That meant Ye Beom-young had never met Gong Cheong-hwon because of his insightful ability.
Now they had a connection, but Ye Beom-young, who liked tigers so much, had been preoccupied with the tiger clans, sealing Gwanglim to stop using his power at random.
Unlike most high school students in Plumago, who had no choice but to act mature for their age, Ye Beom-young remained childish until the end.
His bright and kind personality, but his concentration and thinking were at the elementary school level.
So, when the tiger clans disappeared, the white tiger could easily be sent to check on Gong Cheong-hwon.
“And since you didn’t like me having fun, you made me go and observe Gong Cheong-hwon using Ye Beom-young’s power.”
I know.
The white tiger, as if doing me a favor, said what I had already figured out.
What I was curious about was what Ye Beom-young had actually seen.
I had an idea, hearing about the newcomer and Yeong-in from Cheongho, but I was still waiting for confirmation.
“They say light and shadow are mixed. It must be the human part of the newcomer and Yeong-in mixed together.”
As expected.
The key now was their form.
In the case of Yeong-in, the god’s part would be half mixed in.
That wasn’t all.
This incident provided an important tool for finding Yeong-in.
“Ye Beom-young didn’t grow up like the maidens of the Red Dragon or the Dragon King. The power he can currently use was something he could also use in Plumago.”
Unlike others who gained new powers through trials and training, Ye Beom-young was peacefully enjoying school life.
He had gained some experience due to his involvement with the tiger clans, but he hadn’t grown significantly.
Put another way, the power Ye Beom-young currently had was the same power I, as the player character, had used in Plumago.
‘The clues to find Yeong-in have increased.’
Lubo Won responded to my wish to find the oldest shadow on the Korean Peninsula:
—The Korean Peninsula is a land blessed by the Heavenly Gods. The brightest light comes down from the sky, so the shadow can only pool on the ground. The places where the shadow has stayed the longest must have experienced significant changes.
I had obtained a clue about the location.
The next problem was how to recognize Yeong-in once we reached that place.
Now, I had the means to find him.
“There are only two people who can recognize Yeong-in anywhere in this world. One is Ye Beom-young, and the other is you.”
Monday, after the weekend, on the way to school.
The aftermath of the Jeju Island field trip incident was still lingering, and there were a lot of reporters around the school.
Some reporters were doing live reports in front of the school gate, but some were recklessly trying to interview third-year students.
However, the third-year students, having been through it all during their time at Eun-kwang High, chose to take the quieter route to school. The unlucky ones who were caught weren’t quite normal.
“We’ll win again next time. Don’t mess with us, first years!”
“Hey, this isn’t live. If you say it all of a sudden, they’ll edit it out. You need to pretend like you’re talking about what happened in Jeju and mix it up, so they can’t catch the edits.”
“That’s right. Ask the question again.”
The crazy students from 3rd-year class 0 proudly yelled into the microphone, having just beaten the younger students.
Most of the seniors were dorm students, but after a major incident, many had come home for the weekend and returned to school today.
Moreover, these crazy students were quick to recognize each other, and once they saw one of their peers being interviewed, they all jumped in to say their piece.
There was no sign of seniority, and the proud declarations of victory and the boasting about Jeongokshin’s achievements were mostly directed at the innocent and good-natured first-year juniors.
When the name of the poet Jeongokshin, who had worked hard in Jeju, was mentioned, the reporters couldn’t let go of their microphones, still holding onto their regret. But the seniors just boasted, not leaving any room for criticism or doubt.
‘Since Eunho, Eunseho, Euniho, and Yoon Yeorang weren’t here, it must have been hard for the first-year class 0 to win. The seniors are getting so cocky, but next time, the good juniors will grow and make a name for themselves.’
While the seniors were keeping the reporters busy, I was walking around, and 황지호, who was with me, said:
“They’ll take care of them, even if we leave them be. It seems like they’re just pretending not to notice in the student council, and they’ll step in later.”
“Still, proper communication with the media is necessary. I heard the Hwangmyeong Foundation publicity team is handing out press releases today. Are you prepared?”
“Of course.”
I was currently walking to school with the tigers.
Each of us had ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) snacks bought from MITRON in our hands.
Since Eunho was there too, it might look weird if we went to school together from the same mansion, so I decided to stop by MITRON to buy some gifts for the juniors and make an alibi.
I had set it up as if we met there by coincidence.
‘In the end, I spent the whole weekend at the tiger mansion. If I had gone to school from the dormitory, I wouldn’t have needed to make this farce and see those scenes.’
On Saturday night, I stayed to hear stories from the white tiger, and on Sunday night, I was left to meet with the genius warrior who had been guarding Eunseho and Euniho.
It was convenient to have many things to discuss, but it also meant I couldn’t visit Yong Jegun in the hospital.
The tigers had said, “You’ve already sent Jeho, so why do you need to send him too? No need.” and “Yong Jegun can’t even open his eyes. His son will take care of everything, so don’t worry.”
In the end, I substituted the hospital visit with a gift and message through Kim Shinrok.
After comforting the juniors who were upset about losing to the Gold Crown King’s team, I returned to our class and found that Sa Wolseum was also frustrated.
