With Aiko on his shoulder and Kairi following close behind, Jensen made his way out of the area, he had to find somewhere to stash them.

He considered leaving them in the mansion, but he decided against it.

Nowhere in the town was safe for Aiko.

Not when the XR Gang could invade the Uesugi compound with seemingly no repercussions.

Jensen did not doubt that they had the Human Alliance Police of the town in their pocket and they would use their resources to scan every inch of the town to find her.

With the amount of surveillance, it would be easy.

So, the only option was to leave the town, and he had just the perfect location with significant protection to put them.

’That reminds me.’

Another thing he had to do was make sure Lily and Maria were also clear of the town before the big fight took place.

He did not want them being causalities if he could avoid it.

He was running when he suddenly jumped high, evading an attack from an assailant tailing them.

His dagger, now changed to Grade 2, appeared in his free hand. He spun around and threw it toward the man.

The blade went through his head like it was a piece of tofu and the man dropped.

His body hit the ground with a wet thud and blood poured from the hole in his skull, pooling around his face.

Once Aiko was out of danger Kairi seemed ready to turn back and support the rest of the Uesugi warriors.

Just then Taro’s voice cut through the chaos.

"Go with them now! We will handle these bastards."

Taro dodged a spear thrust coming at him.

He was about to counter with a sword slice when he had to take a step back and block a sword swinging for his neck.

The attackers had been defensive, but that did not mean they would not take the chance to eliminate him if they got it, so he had to be careful.

"Your duty now is to protect our Lady." Taro backed up just in time to dodge an arrow. "Now go!"

Kail hesitated causing Taro to scream out, "It is an order."

Kairi nodded before she ran after Jensen.

Once they were gone, Taro focused on the assailants.

"Now that the lady is safe," he said, "I shall get serious."

He threw his shorter sword into the air. The assailants looked up at the blade, waiting for an attack.

Nothing came.

His free hand pointed at the closest Level 2 to him. He used his skill.

*Wind Bind*

Wind energy gathered into a massive rope and surrounded the man, holding him tight in place.

The man’s eyes widened in horror. He knew what was coming next was inevitable.

But man has always been known to struggle against the inevitable.

He desperately tried to break free from the binding, screaming, "Help! Mother fuckers, HELP!"

Before his friends could help, Taro was already in motion.

His body crouched low and he used another skill.

*Air Leap*

He appeared in front of the man in an instant, a small smile appeared on Taro’s face as he watched the man’s face twisted in fear.

The man opened his mouth to scream again but it was too late.

Taro’s blade slashed across his neck taking off his head completely.

It flew through the air, spinning, blood sprayed from the stump in a thick fountain as the head hit the ground with a wet crack.

It rolled to a stop, its eyes still wide, its mouth frozen in a silent scream.

The body stood for a moment before it fell to the ground.

The second Level 2 did not need to be told.

They had been warned about facing this man.

Very few even knew he existed but his title, Wind Demon, was feared by all who did.

That was the reason he had been carried away by the dagger throw.

He had been anticipating a special attack from above and now that the first Level 2 was dead, he did not want to push his luck.

*Gush*

Taro sent a strong burst of wind that smashed into the man’s back, throwing him off balance.

The man stumbled forward, his arms flailed causing his weapon to almost drop from his hand.

Taro crouched and used his wind spell again.

*Air Leap*

He appeared behind the man before he could regain his balance and reaped his life with a quick slash.

The blade cut through the man’s spine causing his body to fold backward.

Blood poured from the wound. He dropped to his knees, then fell forward.

Now that Aiko was out of danger and he did not need to keep an eye on her, Taro could finally go all out.

Once he was done with the two Level 2s, he began his massacre.

He did not go after the other Level 2s next instead he went after the Level 1s. He wanted to take out as many as possible.

To reduce the pressure on his men and also reduce the number of enemies they would face in the future.

He wanted to deal as much damage to the enemy as he could, right now.

He moved through the crowd like a storm, reaping life as fast as possible while trying to manage his mana.

Seeing his unrestricted slaughter, the XR Gang immediately decided to retreat.

"Retreat now!" The leader of the operation, who had been fighting the Ashigaru Taishō, jumped back and took off himself.

The rest of the gang members followed right behind him... some stumbled and were immediately killed by the Uesugi Samurai close.

Even as they ran the Uesugi samurai chased after them, but they stopped once they were off the Uesugi compound.

They had enough training to know better than to chase an enemy too far from base.

They slowly began cleaning house ensuring no more enemies remained in their midst.

They also made sure to confirm that the dead were actually dead ensuring there were no survivors left.

Taro did not stop there.

He managed to kill one of the two guards who had come with Daihachi with the claim that the man had a similar symbol to the attackers.

Once he killed him, he kicked his body into a sprawled form making he XR gang symbol carved into his arm.

Daihachi was smart, though. He and the second guard had slipped out before the aftermath of the attack even began.

Taro slowly and systematically took control of the entire Uesugi clan.

The Ashigaru Taishō tried to argue but he slammed into a roadblock immediately Taro produced a classified document.

It was signed and notarized by Daisaku and Aiko that made him the Proxy Leader in the case of an emergency.

"I will now be taking temporary command of the family," Taro announced to the gathered Uesugi clan members. "Until we get through these dark times."

"What do you think you are doing?" One of the elders snapped at Taro. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Here." Taro produced the document from his spatial ring.

The elder grabbed the scroll... the more he read, the darker his face became.

Without this document, he could have taken control of the family for a period of time.

He was the highest ranking elder and he could have cemented his power before Aiko returned alive or the next member of the Uesugi was sent here.

He considered denying it or claiming it was false but the mana signature of Daisaku was very easy to confirm.

The elder glanced at the other elders before looking at the members of the family staring at him... Taro had chosen the perfect place to reveal this in front of everyone leaving them with no room to argue.

He slammed the document on the ground and stormed away.

Taro watched him go then he turned to the rest of the clan.

"Is there anyone else with objections?" he asked.

Silence.
