Edgar sat down on his bed as he looked at the Nightmare Stones filled in the box that the Yamhad Clan provided.

’I just hit the jackpot.’

His lips curled up, picking up a stone he raised it high in the air.

’With this I can start a lot of new projects.’

The three ⟨Beast Trap⟩s he placed around the fortress worked wonderfully.

On average, they provided him with 20 Nightmare Stones each, bringing the total to 60 stones!

Given his investment of 15 stones to upgrade all three of the traps, the return was significant.

Apart from the traps, Edgar also got a total of 50 Nightmare Stones from the ⟨Watch Tower⟩s bombardment.

In total, he earned 110 Nightmare Stones in one night!

’And I also got this...’

Edgar let out a deep sigh before he picked up a Nightmare Stone with a distinct green colour.

It was a Nightmare Stone that he got after killing a big Grass-slug. An enhanced version of the white Nightmare Stones.

He played with it and remembered Oswald’s words. ’A green Nightmare Stone is ten times more valuable than a white one.’

With the extra stones to work with, Edgar was a little more relaxed.

’But I can’t rest now.’

He smacked his lips and stood up from his bed.

Sliding the box under his bed, he walked out of his room.

It had only been two hours since the ’day’ started, he wanted to do some work before going back to sleep.

The first thing Edgar did was rush towards the container he had sealed three days ago.

It was the first Nightmare Shard that he got from a Snow Hand Rabbit.

The ritual to make the shard mature was to submerge it in water with Black Grassroots.

Edgar anticipatively opened the container and was greeted with a pleasant smell.

’I thought it would smell like rot.’

He mused to himself as he took out the clay-like item from inside.

Its size had shrunk to that of a marble and its colour had changed to a more creamish shade.

Edgar took in a deep breath and put the marble in his mouth and swallowed it.

The next instant, he felt a warm sensation flow through his entire body before settling in his lower body.

His leg and torso muscles twitched uncomfortably as if someone was roughly massaging them.

The feeling stopped only after five minutes, leaving him gasping for air.

’Hm, I feel much more relaxed and my legs feel amazing.’

Edgar stretched his body before he began to sprint around the fortress.

He clearly felt the difference from before swallowing the marble.

’I am definitely faster than an athlete with years of experience.’

Edgar thought to himself happily before he slowed down.

The Nightmare Shard did increase his speed but his stamina was still the same.

’I need to work more on myself.’

Edgar drew in a deep breath and rubbed the back of his neck.

He opened his system panel to look at the things that he could craft right now.

He really wanted to create a Fortress Wall but he didn’t have the funds for it.

’Creating it now will only put me in a tough situation.’

He gave up on the idea and looked through the other items.

’I should create a Wooden House for myself first, it’s falling apart.’

Edgar decided to put the house on the list of items he would craft.

Then his gaze shifted to the tower that looked like a lighthouse.

There was only one of them left after the time of the mimicked tower ended.

Edgar drew in a deep breath and thought. ’It’s time to upgrade it to Level 3.’

Given the current situation, it was more optimal for him to enhance his fortress.

And there was no better way to do that than increasing the strength of his ⟨Watch Tower⟩.

He decided to create another ⟨Watch Tower⟩ as well and upgrade it to Level 2.

’My total expense for all this will be 57 Nightmare Stones leaving me with 63 stones.’

Edgar looked down for a moment and decided it was more than enough for his visit to Saragaon Bazaar.

’I will earn what I can in the Eternal Night and leave for the bazaar first thing tomorrow morning.’

Having finished his plan, Edgar turned and called the young boy sitting with Oswald. "Andrew!"

The young man quickly rushed towards him. "Yes, young master?"

Edgar gave him a surprised look but didn’t point out his way of addressing him.

"Help me demolish it." He said, pointing at his house. "I am going to create a new one."

"Alright!"

Andrew was more than happy to help, he quickly began to cut off the joints that kept the structure intact.

Edgar also brought out all the containers that he had inside.

After a total of 45 minutes, the whole building was demolished.

Edgar picked up two of the Nightmare Stones and willed to create a ⟨Wooden House⟩ in the same place.

The stones were suspended in the air before they broke. White liquid swept out of them and began to expand.

In just a few seconds, a new house made of wood and mud formed.

Edgar walked inside and checked the place.

The supports made of wood looked sturdy and the bed made of mud was also decent.

’Should I upgrade it to Level 2 as well?’

Edgar hesitated for a long second before he decided against it.

’If my blueprint plans get registered in the system then I can make a better house.’

He walked out of the house and looked at Andrew who was staring at the house in awe.

"Be ready tomorrow morning." Edgar informed him. "We are going to Saragaon Bazaar."

The young boy happily nodded his head. "Alright."

Edgar turned and walked towards the ⟨Watch Tower⟩.

He took out thirty Nightmare Stones and placed them on the ground.

Taking in a deep breath, he willed to upgrade the tower to Level 3.

Simultaneously, three options appeared in front of him.

2⟩ Infuse it with an Active Skill called ’Light Net.’ It can create a net with extreme heat that can cut through low-level Nightmares easily. Consumes 1 stone.

3⟩ Infuse the beam with rotting poison that can kill multiple Nightmares.
