Eternal Freedom's Ascension
Chapter 211: Suspension? Students Protest
When everyone was finally settled, the Student Council office had become a law court.
Gaga stood at the center, his hand still stained with blood.
Resting his elbows on the table, President Anthony leaned forward.
"First-year student Gaga. Is it true that you killed the trash cleaner whose blood now stains your hand?"
Gaga nodded, his golden eyes gleaming confidently.
Humming softly, Anthony continued.
"Can you share the reason why you did that?"
Gaga paused, glancing at his Class Instructor—Instructor Rutherford.
The middle-aged man was staring at him with his deep, dark eyes.
"There are three reasons why he died. First, he attacked that blonde girl. Second, he was spouting some ridiculous words about a prophetic lord, which made me pretty annoyed. And the last thing... he was weak."
"Weak?" Reas echoed, demanding more explanation.
"Weak." Gaga nodded. "His skull caved in after a few punches. Truly pathetic."
The office went silent, as the weight of the event settled in.
"Do you realize you just killed a human? That’s an act punishable by law."
Vice President Eren reclined in the cushion, looking at Gaga with a serious gaze.
The Class-B student was unfazed. "Of course, I do. Well, what is the academy’s decision then? Kill me as punishment?"
The sheer indifference in his tone made several brows crease.
Finally, President Anthony spoke again.
"Naturally, you won’t be sentenced to death since you were defending a fellow student. However, we can’t allow such an act to go unpunished."
Seated on a lone cushion, Instructor Rutherford turned to him.
"I’d like to hear your verdict, Anthony."
The third-year student nodded subtly.
"Gaga, you are hereby suspended for one week starting from Monday."
.........
The next morning, the news had spread throughout the academy, and unease swept through the students.
Ysabella was having a busy day because several students came over to check up on her after hearing she had been attacked.
Around eight o’clock in the morning, Iruca came over with her friends to visit the blonde girl.
The Class-A leader was naturally a close friend of Ysabella, so she was pretty worried about the girl.
"Are you sure you’re alright? If I could, I’d have asked Rita to help you soothe the pain. Unfortunately..."
Iruca showed a helpless smile, casting a glance at the limiter around Rita’s wrist.
That restricting bracelet was preventing any student from using their awakened ability.
Lying on the bed, Ysabella smiled brightly.
"Come on, Iruca. The healer already treated me. She only told me to rest for a while so it can heal completely."
Hearing that, Iruca was relieved.
"Sigh, I don’t understand why a random person would suddenly attack you."
Standing behind her, Ashley scratched his hair in confusion.
"Maybe he wanted to force himself on her? After all, Ysabella is a very pretty—"
"Ashley!"
Iruca’s angry voice silenced him, and he realized he had said something displeasing. Rita and Joanna were glaring at him too.
’What did I do wrong?’
He complained inwardly, but didn’t dare to say a word. Iruca had never been angry, so he didn’t want to provoke her further with any unnecessary words.
"Haa... I apologize for his rude mouth."
The silver-white-haired girl smiled bitterly, feeling ashamed of Ashley.
Although they all had that same thought in mind, it wasn’t right to say such a thing.
"It’s okay, that guy is dead after all."
Ysabella’s words shifted their focus to another section of the event.
Iruca’s shoulders trembled faintly. "That boy... Gaga. He really killed the man."
Her grip tightened on her dress, and she couldn’t hide her nervousness.
Beside her, Joanna shook her head. "Yeah, but that man obviously deserved it."
She didn’t seem to care much about the fact that a person had been killed.
Unlike her, Rita was quite nervous. "B-but killing..."
"Hm," Iruca nodded, her lips pressed tightly. "It’s really—"
Abruptly, another group of people walked over, their steps loud.
Iruca paused, turning to look at the new arrivals.
They were the Class-B top echelons—Adela, Tamara, and Yamada.
Smirking, Adela regarded Ysabella carefully.
"You look pretty fine now. Not the gore I was expecting."
Iruca frowned, preparing to retort.
However, Adela immediately continued. "By the way, Gaga got suspended for saving your charming existence. I really hope it was worth the effort."
"Suspended?!"
Ysabella sat up, startled. Her green eyes widened with convincing concern and surprise.
Why would her savior get suspended?
"Damn. The Student Council is really ruthless. It must be because he killed that guy."
Ashley spoke, clicking his tongue.
"But... he was simply trying to help me..."
Ysabella’s voice wavered, vulnerability slipping into her expression.
She looked like a heartbroken princess about to shed tears.
Adela didn’t react to that.
"I came here to confirm if you’re actually fine, and let you know the resolution of it all. Goodbye."
Smirking, she turned around and left the room with her two classmates.
"Why...?"
Ysabella fell back to the bed, the pillow cushioning her head.
"He was simply trying to help me..."
Her hands covered her face, and her voice trembled.
A tear rolled down her face. She was crying.
Iruca held her wrist gently, then said in a reassuring voice.
"Don’t worry, Ysabella. I’ll ensure this doesn’t happen."
Beside her, Rita nodded, her eyes teary.
"Yeah, the Student Council can’t just decide that. We’ll gather and protest."
Patting the blonde girl’s shoulder, Iruca stood up and left the room with determined steps. Rita, Joanna, and Ashley also bid Ysabella farewell, then left the room.
Confirming that they were gone, Ysabella slowly lowered her hands.
Her eyes were crystal clear, and her tears were merely crocodile tears she could easily produce.
’Heh, they were all fooled by my acting. I’m so amazing.’
She wasn’t really concerned about Gaga’s suspension. After all, she hadn’t asked him to kill someone. He did it willingly.
"With this level of talent, you could pursue acting as a career."
Hearing that plain, monotone voice, Ysabella was startled and immediately turned to the source.
Ariel was leaning against the wall by her bedside, unnoticed until now.
"Wha...?"
