Chapter 3573: Alex’s Result

Alex felt the energy that flowed into him. It was a strange sort of energy that he had never sensed before in his life. It filled his body instantly, which his body nearly reacted to as a threat.

However, Alex managed to control it before it could do some harm to himself.

Alex was interested in the crystal itself, so he tried looking through it to see how it worked, but even when he tried sensing a few things about it, he simply had no idea how it was even functioning.

It wasn’t as simple as a formation or a script that had a definite source of energy that it was using to run the crystal. It just did.

The energy reached his Dantian, which it flowed through before coming out through all of his 8 spirit roots. Then it flowed up his body, heading around his Soul Space, before going into his mind.

Alex followed it there as well.

Inside his Spiritual Sea, the energy found the Blood Origin first of all. It enveloped the fake Creation before moving onto the other ones.

For a moment, Alex wondered if the presence of his numerous Origins would help him in this case. Since it was testing for potential, having 8 different regular Creations would certainly go a long way to determine that.

He hadn’t seen much difference in the case of Whisker, Scarlet, or Pearl, so he couldn’t be certain that it even did something. Still, he held out hope.

One after another, the energy went through his various cores until it arrived at the Dragon Father Spirit. The energy surrounded the sealed Spirit and tried to penetrate into it.

Alex’s eyes immediately went wide open as the fear of what was about to happen terrified him. He instantly moved, determined to stop the energy from doing anything, even if it meant that he would fail the test.

However, as if having realized that it could not break through the seal, the energy calmly moved away, pouring out of his Spiritual Sea.

Alex was left with a hint of panic in his heart. Things could have gone so very differently just then.

’I did make the seal so that nothing other than I could get rid of it, so it wouldn’t have worked anyway,’ Alex told himself. He was less giving an explanation and more calming his worries. Although, a part of him told him that giving the energy permission to enter his Spiritual Sea could be tantamount to him doing the unsealing anyway.

So there was a high chance of things going extremely sideways just then. It was a relief that it didn’t.

Alex focused on the situation outside of his mind and found the energy fully retreating away from his body. Then, for a moment, nothing happened.

Alex stepped back, worried that he might have done something wrong. He had nearly fought back against the energy earlier, so had that done something? Or had one of the several properties of his body done something on accident?

He couldn’t imagine what sort of explanation he could give the Sky God if the pillar returned with nothing.

Just as he thought that, the pillar let out a droning noise and white light shot out from the base of the pillar. Instantly, it shot up through the shaft, filling it so quickly that it nearly reached the top in a single second.

By the time many of them had even realized that the pillar had activated, it was already near its limit. The light had slowed down on the pillar around where Pearl’s had stopped and ticked up a few times before coming to a gradual stop.

Everyone watching went silent as they saw how much of the pillar still remained dark. Most of them had never seen such a high score on the pillar. Those that had seen such knew that it had been a mistake last time around. However, this time, since there was a remainder on the pillar, it was clear that it was not a fault in the system.

This was the legitimate score of the young man who stood before it.

"96."

The score came, and the silence somehow seemed to grow even more.

’96,’ Alex thought with strange emotions in his heart. On one hand, this was the highest score anyone had reached outside of his sister, as far as he knew. It was an entire 3 steps higher than his mother even.

But on the other hand, it wasn’t a full 100. There were 4 more steps he could climb before his talent could be called perfect.

At that moment, Alex couldn’t help but wonder what the reasons could be as to why that was not the case. Was there really more that his body constitution could evolve? His comprehension ability could not be improved, so that was the best he could do at this point. Perhaps it was his spirit roots even? A lack of perfect unity, while not the direct cause, could be a reason for the lack of a perfect score. At the same time, Alex also remembered the spirit it was forced to skip over.

Perhaps the pillar considered him as someone whose spirit was wounded, as a chunk of it was clearly missing due to the seal being there. Could that have been the case?

Alex was almost certain at this point that one of these cases was the reason. And if that was the case, then there was most certainly room for improvement.

He couldn’t be sure what he could do to improve his body even more now that it was already in the God grade, and there was certainly nothing he could do for the sealed Origin as he did not want to get the Dragon Father’s Spirit out.

But fixing his Unity was not out of the question. Soon, he would finish filling up all of his Origins, and then he would be free to start doing all sorts of tests for his spirit roots so that he could push his Unity to be the best it could be.
