Chapter 139: A Personal Butler? Shattering Leonard’s Delusion! Fortis City Witnesses a Calamity

Sylvia entered the Player Association office. Inside, Chairman Welt and Rachel were already seated, conversing quietly with her brother, Leonard.

Her brother sat with an indifferent, calculated expression, but a genuine smile formed on his face the moment he saw her.

"You are here, Sylvia."

"Why did you come?" Sylvia asked, rolling her eyes as she took a seat. "Did you miss your sister that much?"

"I am very happy here," she added firmly.

"It is good that you are happy and well," Leonard nodded. "I came here to discuss your future plans. The university entrance exams are just around the corner. By now, you must have reached at least the peak of Iron III or Bronze rank, right?"

Leonard stood up, adjusting his suit jacket.

"I managed to secure a quota for you at the Radiant Light Academy in the Central Plains. It belongs to the Holy Church. Only top-tier evolvers go there, like Princess Bubblegum. Perhaps this ’Player 555’ everyone is talking about will also be scouted there as a Teacher due to his rank," Leonard said with a proud smile.

It had taken him a massive amount of effort, resources, and calling in favors to get this quota.

"That is even under the circumstances of them knowing you are a Vampire. The Holy Church might not usually take our kind, but studying there is essential for building connections. Connections are the foundation you need to build your own empire in the future."

He looked at her seriously. "If we truly want to get out from under our father’s control, that is the only way. We must prove ourselves to be worthy."

"Besides," Leonard added confidently, "once you graduate from there, they guarantee you will emerge as a powerful Silver rank expert."

"What?" Sylvia looked at Leonard in sheer bafflement.

"Brother... about that." Sylvia’s lips twitched.

How was she supposed to tell her arrogant brother that she didn’t need a stuffy academy, and that she was already sitting at Silver II? In reality, Leonard didn’t even know about her SS-Rank talent either; only Caelus knew the depths of her power.

"Why are you hesitating?" Leonard frowned. "Is this about your blood-bond?"

He clicked his tongue in distaste. "Caelus Kross was his name, right?"

"I am sorry, but I do not think he can go to the Radiant Light Academy," Leonard spoke coldly. "Only prestigious beings with absolute backing can go there. Someone like him, who has no background whatsoever, could only enter the academy as your personal butler."

Sylvia’s expression instantly darkened. Her red eyes flared with genuine anger.

"Butler? You do not know what you are saying, Brother. My Caelus is far above others. No one in this entire kingdom can match him in terms of strength."

"Strength alone is not enough in this world, Sylvia," Leonard shook his head condescendingly. "If raw strength were enough, would I still be attending to our father’s every whim right now? And how strong can he be? Bronze? that isn’t enough."

Sylvia fell silent, her eyes narrowing.

Chairman Welt stood up. He needed to speak on Caelus’s behalf. It seemed Leonard had a massive, fatal misunderstanding about exactly who and what Caelus Kross was. He had to make it clear before Leonard accidentally offended a walking calamity.

However, the very instant Welt opened his mouth...

RUMBLE.

The ground beneath the entire Player Association building trembled violently.

"Hm?" Chairman Welt, Rachel, and Leonard all grabbed the edges of the table, looking up in shock.

"This energy fluctuation... Is this a Silver rank?" Welt muttered in disbelief. A Silver rank expert had initiated an all-out battle right inside Fortis City! And it was close.

Just then, the heavy oak doors to the office flew open. Mr. Brown rushed into the room, sweating profusely.

"Chairman Welt! There is a massive situation!" Mr. Brown seemed stunned beyond words.

He hastily tapped the tablet in his hand, casting a live holographic projection onto the center of the office wall. It was a feed from the local news network.

"This is Fortis Daily News! We have suddenly received footage of a powerful Player initiating a brutal siege over the Parker Family Estate in District B!"

"A gigantic frost giant monster, easily half the size of a towering skyscraper, has suddenly materialized above their estate, shattering their defensive barriers! Our camera team is live on the scene. We will now zoom in!"

The camera zoomed past the roaring, icy visage of a massive Frost Giant, focusing on a figure hovering effortlessly in the sky.

Everyone in the office froze.

It was a young teen floating mid-air, one hand casually tucked into his pocket. He had long white hair, and his eyes glowed with a terrifying, chaotic red light.

And dangling helplessly from his other hand, suspended by his throat, was the Patriarch of the Parker Family: Ashford Parker.

"Look at that! That young teen is single-handedly holding the Parker Family’s Patriarch by the neck! Ashford Parker is a renowned Silver I expert! How is this even possible?!"

The news reporter suddenly touched her earpiece, her face going pale as new information flooded in.

"Wait... A new piece of information has just been verified by the Player Association database! The attacker... it seems to be the exact same student who caused a disturbance at Fortis-01 High earlier this week! Caelus Kross!"

"CAELUS?!"

Welt, and Rachel exclaimed in unison. Leonard’s expression completely shattered into shock. He watched the screen as Caelus held a Silver I tycoon like a helpless dog.

Across the city, inside the training stadium of Fortis-01 High, thousands of students and teachers had gathered around the massive projection screens.

Principal Harris and the instructors looked at the broadcast in horror.

"He overpowered a Silver I... That means his combat score is...."

On the screen, Caelus’s voice echoed across the estate, amplified by his aura.

"You ordered a hit on me to ’save the face’ of the Parker family, right?" Caelus’s voice was icy and indifferent. "Feel free to come up to the sky so I can help you save it."

He looked down at the sprawling, ruined estate.

"Oh, wait. You guys can’t fly."

Caelus released his grip. Ashford Parker plummeted toward the courtyard below.

PROJECTION FRAME!

Caelus’s figure blurred, instantly overtaking the falling Patriarch. He crashed into the courtyard courtyard like a meteor, creating a massive crater.

Immediately, dozens of elite Parker family guards rushed him from all directions, their weapons drawn.

"Kneel."

Caelus simply waved his hand.

TELEKINESIS!

A terrifying combination of crushing psychic gravity aura slammed into the courtyard. The elite guards didn’t even make it three steps before they were forced to their knees, coughing up blood under the sheer pressure.

Caelus slowly walked out of the crater.

Roland Parker stood near the mansion’s shattered entrance, trembling uncontrollably. He stared at Caelus, and then at his father, Ashford, who was lying in the rubble, bleeding profusely and struggling to breathe.

Roland felt like he was having a nightmare. How was this happening? The assassins he hired were supposed to kill a helpless Bronze student!

"Y-You... Caelus! Let go of my father!" Roland shrieked, his voice cracking with terror.

"You mean this guy?"

Caelus walked over to the crippled Patriarch. "The guy who decided to ’make an example’ out of a new player like me just to appease your bruised ego and call it saving face?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Caelus tilted his head, his chaotic red eyes devoid of any mercy. He placed his foot squarely over Ashford’s chest.

"You!" Roland’s eyes turned bloodshot. He couldn’t believe his invincible father was completely at the mercy of a teenager.

"What about me?" Caelus looked at Roland coldly. "I always felt clear killing intent from you at the academy, Roland. But to actually send assassins after me... to threaten to dig up my dead parents to make an example out of my family?"

Caelus applied pressure.

"I am not some pushover you can just step on as you please."

CRUNCH.

With a sickening, heavy thud, Caelus’s foot crushed directly through Ashford’s ribcage, obliterating his heart completely.

For a terrifying moment, the entirety of Fortis City fell dead silent as they watched the broadcast.

Ashford Parker, one of the city’s top tycoons and a veteran Silver I player, was dead. And the person who effortlessly executed him was a student who had awakened less than three weeks ago.

Just as quickly, Caelus’s figure blurred. He appeared directly in front of Roland.

"You were lucky we were inside the academy before," Caelus whispered, his voice glitching with chaotic energy. "But this is the real world."

INFERNO POINT!

Caelus pressed his palm against Roland’s chest. Superheated, chaotic fire instantly erupted, melting through Roland’s defensive sheilds and searing his flesh.

"AGHHHH—!" Roland screamed in agonizing, mind-melting pain.

But before the fire could fully consume him, Caelus instantly switched powers.

The ambient temperature around Roland plummeted from thousands of degrees to absolute zero in a fraction of a millisecond.

Roland’s melting body flash-froze into solid, brittle ice. A second later, the sheer physical stress of the temperature shift caused his frozen statue to violently shatter into a cloud of fine, glittering mist.

The remaining estate guards and family members shivered in fright, staring at the swirling mist where their young master had once stood.
