Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree
Chapter 850 - 624: True God’s Reward
The vision soared infinitely, and Eve once again arrived at the Pantheon.
Unlike last time, now Eve had already left her own divine throne in the Pantheon, so she did not appear outside the temple but directly on her throne within the temple.
The Pantheon was empty, austere, and tranquil.
Eve snapped her fingers lightly, illuminating the lights inside the temple.
Not long after her appearance, another divine throne flickered with a faint glow, exuding a majestic and holy aura.
The crimson-golden Divine Power continuously outlined, transforming into a dwarf with a red divine robe and a bushy reddish-brown beard.
It was the Divine Power projection of the Dwarven and Forging God Dolfert.
Upon seeing Eve, his aged face broke into a radiant smile, with gratitude evident in his expression:
"Thank you, Your Grace Eve, for solving the evil god sealing problem that troubled the Dwarf Kingdom for millennia!"
Eve gently shook her head:
"Each took what they needed. Besides, the eradication of evil is the shared goal of all True Gods, and the Dwarf Kingdom is a neighbor to the elves, naturally making them allies who watch and aid each other."
No words could be faulted with that statement.
Although the distance between the Southern Mountains and the Elf Forest exceeded two thousand kilometers, the adjacent Death Desert was already elf territory, making the term ’neighbor’ entirely appropriate.
Noticing the friendliness in Eve’s words, the smile of the Dwarven and Forging God Dolfert became even more amiable.
"You are too modest. To become friends with the elves is an honor for the Dwarf Clan. The Harvest Festival celebration was so splendid, I feel as if I’ve seen the once-great Silver Race return to its pinnacle..."
It was no surprise to Eve that Dolfert witnessed the Harvest Festival celebration.
Among the dwarf envoy group were priests from the Dwarf National Church, and to True Gods, priests were their eyes.
The two True Gods exchanged mutual flattering words, creating an increasingly harmonious atmosphere.
Soon after, they moved on to the main topic.
"Your Grace Eve, you have completed the task I requested. I wonder if you need me to craft a True Divine Artifact for you, or to restore something?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
The Dwarven and Forging God adjusted his demeanor, earnestly and seriously inquiring.
"I need you to help restore a True Divine Artifact."
Eve smiled calmly, gently extending her hand.
Radiant light gathered in her hand, accompanied by faint spatial fluctuations, and a rugged yet ancient skull necklace appeared in Eve’s hand.
"Heart of Withering?!"
Dolfert murmured in slight surprise.
But soon, recalling something, an expression of realization crossed his face:
"Ah yes, you defeated Uller, so obtaining this True Divine Artifact is only natural for you."
"Just a stroke of luck—can you repair it?"
Eve inquired.
Dolfert pondered for a moment before responding:
"Please let me have a look at it."
Unhesitant, Eve handed the Heart of Withering to Dolfert.
Receiving the skull necklace, Dolfert scrutinized it for a while, then closed his eyes lightly.
Crimson-golden Divine Power flickered on him, quickly covering the Heart of Withering in his hands, before slowly receding after a moment.
Thereafter, the Dwarven and Forging God opened his eyes once more.
"The damage is quite severe, but it’s not a major issue. Given a month, I should be able to repair it, but the troublesome part is the Abyssal Power’s corrosion. This True Divine Artifact has been severely contaminated, almost irreversibly so..."
"If it’s merely a matter of repair, there’s no problem, but I can’t purify the Abyssal Power within it, at most I can force some of it out from the core of the artifact, yet I cannot completely separate it from the artifact..."
Dolfert said, frowning.
"Are there any negative effects?"
Eve further inquired.
Dolfert thought for a moment, then replied:
"If the Abyssal Power is completely expelled, then this True Divine Artifact would only require Divine Power to operate, but under the premise of being unable to completely purify the Abyssal Power, it will still rely on sacrificial life force to function..."
"Not only that, but because the power of the artifact is enhanced, it also increases the likelihood of the controller’s Divine Soul Power being corrupted."
Hearing the words of the Dwarven and Forging God, Eve raised an eyebrow.
So, enhancing the power also increases the side effects...
However, it’s not a major issue.
Various experiences have already made Eve realize that her resistance to Abyssal Power is quite strong, not swallowing it would be nice enough, so she’s not afraid of being contaminated.
At least, the World Tree itself is unaffected; at most, it is the avatar that would be affected.
And even if the avatar is affected, it can be purified by the power of the main body.
As for the life force, that’s even less of a concern, as transforming life Divine Power into life force is merely a matter of moving from the left hand to the right for Eve, who controls related divine duties...
In other words, this side effect for Eve is not only insignificant but seems tailor-made.
"No problem, I can bear this minor side effect."
Eve responded.
Dolfert hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded:
"Very well, but after it’s repaired, you must use it with caution."
After speaking, he scratched his head somewhat sheepishly:
"Apologies, my power is still too weak. If I had intermediate Divine Power, I could completely repair this True Divine Artifact."
"To express my apologies, please allow me to offer you some additional compensation..."
With that, Dolfert extended his right hand to lightly tap his left hand’s thumb, where there was a hollow platinum ring.
