Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree
Chapter 1295 - 831: Dragon Descendant Demon Beast (Bonus - )
"Creatures with the Titan Bloodline?"
After listening to the front desk clerk, several players glanced at each other with some interest.
"Where is this? Is there a specific location?"
They asked with curious interest.
"Um... I’m not sure about that, but... the villagers who claimed to have seen the One-eyed Giant are from Torch Tree Village. If you’re interested, you might go there and ask around."
The front desk clerk said.
The players pondered and remembered the name of the village.
Ye Ye took out the map purchased after arriving at the Violet Duchy, searched for a bit, and discovered that Torch Tree Village should be a village near the Border Forest. If the group took on a demon beast hunting quest, it would be conveniently on the way.
’Might as well take a look.’
They communicated in the chat channel and made up their minds.
"Anything else? News from across the continent, perhaps."
Four Seasons Rain asked again.
"Other news...?"
The front desk clerk furrowed her brows.
She looked up at the ceiling, lost in thought.
A moment later, the front desk clerk furrowed her brows and said:
"Well... there’s a rumor from the Vols Grand Duchy. They say several lords in the eastern part of the Holy Mania Empire seem to have formed an alliance and are gathering armies, though it’s unclear what they’re planning to do..."
"Rumor has it the nobles are planning to march south against the Demon’s Nest to reclaim the fertile lands in the southern Fertile Plain that fell; there’s also talk that the eastern Great Lord, Duke of Borrenzia, plans to incite a war within the empire to expand territory, taking advantage of the Empress’s illness and the youth of the princess; other rumors suggest the imperial nobles are planning to make another move against the Vols Grand Duchy, attempting to invade East Seges again..."
East Seges is the general name for the vast area in the eastern Segis Continent.
Following the setback the Holy Mania Empire faced in the Eastern Continent during the unification wars nearly nine hundred years ago, this region has long been a thorn in the side of the imperial nobles.
For almost a millennium, the eastern nobles of the empire have never given up on the idea of advancing eastwards, launching no fewer than thirty invasions into the Vols Grand Duchy situated at the junction of East Seges and the empire, but each time they’ve been repelled by a coalition of eastern duchies.
And now, the imperial nobles rarely send troops eastwards toward East Seges.
Because everyone realizes that with the natural barrier of the Vols Mountain Range and the support from eastern duchies, the Vols Grand Duchy, serving as the gateway to East Seges, will remain impregnable...
Historically, due to the failed eastward advances, with the imperial army annihilated, the Borrenzia family, which once controlled the Holy Mania throne through marriage, war, and election, suffered a significant decline in power, lost the throne, and was replaced by the founding royal Treis Family, right up to today.
Thus... there’s a saying that the Vols Grand Duchy is the empire’s grave.
Nowadays, when talking about the empire’s covetous eyes on East Seges, the residents of East Seges often see it as a joke, making it quite the amusing topic.
Of course, most players don’t quite understand the history of human nations in the Segis World, so... they didn’t catch the sarcasm in the front desk clerk’s words about the empire.
They simply took note of the news and sent it back to their guild to alert the higher-ups, preventing anyone from stealing their thunder...
News has already come from the guild—the Life Church has issued a war quest to attack the demon stronghold entrenched in the southern Fertile Plain.
With the imperial nobles itching for action, players need to stay vigilant and avoid being stabbed in the back by these folks.
Yet, the players weren’t too worried because reportedly the newly ascended demigod Kai Leici was accompanying the army.
With a demigod in tow, even if the empire betrays them after reclaiming the Fertile Plain, it’d likely be akin to kicking an iron plate.
To be honest, many players are quite excited about the prospect of clashing with the imperial nobles. With the current state of the Elf Forest, many believe it’s more than capable of holding its own against the empire.
And as the continental map fully opens up, players who’ve traveled through human kingdoms have come to understand that although human society is torn, the leading power Mania appears to be in decline; still, post-magic resurgence has equally boosted the strength of human society...
Who knows exactly how many new high-level professionals there are in the human kingdoms now.
Anyways... silver professionals who were rare to see in the past are now considered commonplace in various human cities, not entirely ubiquitous, but indeed nothing out of the ordinary for residents.
On the other hand, waging war against the empire as humans is different from doing so as elves.
The Eternal Church is bound to intervene, and that would truly ignite a clash of faith and racial war.
Without the Goddess’s guidance, players wouldn’t recklessly make a move either.
However, some astute players sensed the Eternal Church growing restless—they seemed to be secretly amassing power throughout the past half-year. Whether it’s prep to eradicate all demons lurking in the Segis World or for something else, remains unclear.
But, such matters aren’t for the players to fret over.
Or rather, most players dislike pondering too much.
They come to the game for leisure; it’s just that the "Elf Kingdom" is so real and unique, slowly becoming everyone’s true second life...
Rather than contemplating continental affairs, most prefer adventuring in the game, particularly with the opening of the big map.
