Chapter 709 - 703: The Truth Behind It All (Part 3)
Now, as it turns out, he wasn’t wrong, and in his heart, he felt somewhat disappointed.
He didn’t quite understand, how someone like Sebastian Ford, an international hacker, was not someone a regular person could just hire, yet, he helped Tiana Thorne multiple times.
He is Sebastian’s cousin and was the mentor who guided him at the start, having once told him not to easily help individuals or get involved in disputes.
In the entertainment industry, the few incidents of conflict were all resolved by him helping Tiana Thorne out of danger.
He had tossed aside all the teachings he received.
After a long silence, he finally asked, "Why are you helping her?"
Sebastian Ford placed his hands on the table, clasped them together, tapped gently, squinting his eyes, and spoke sincerely, "Initially, it was at the request of an old acquaintance."
"That’s not like your usual style. I remember there was a time Uncle asked you for help with something, and you refused."
That was his father.
"She’s different..." Sebastian stirred his coffee with a spoon, halted, then furrowed his brows.
Once memories buried deep in the heart are unlocked, it’s hard to seal them again.
He asked, "You know Tiana Thorne, then you mustn’t be unfamiliar with May Sloane, right?"
Joshua Jarvis nodded, "Her manager."
Sebastian asked again, "Do you remember once I mentioned to you a senior who dressed similarly to the Doll Girl?"
Seven years ago, Joshua Jarvis was a top hacker. After retiring, he went into business, but his mind remained sharp. He picked up the coffee brought by the server, took a sip, and said, "Is May Sloane that senior of yours?"
Sebastian Ford nodded, "Yes."
Hearing this, Joshua Jarvis was somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected that senior to meet him again, and thinking about past events, he felt a bit melancholic, "So previously, you helped Tiana Thorne at her request."
He nodded again, "Yes."
Joshua Jarvis was silent for a moment as if he couldn’t say anything more about this. Back then, only he saw Sebastian’s pain.
He sighed softly, retracting his thoughts, and his keen, cold eyes locked onto his gaze, asking, "What about now?"
Sebastian Ford: "It’s voluntary on my part."
Joshua Jarvis felt surprised once more, "You like her?"
Other than this, he couldn’t find another reason.
Because Sebastian Ford had always been an exceptionally competent hacker, only working for key national enterprises and some government institutions, his worth increased year by year.
No ordinary person could engage him.
Not even his father—let alone his mentor, seeking his help—would result in a straightforward refusal based on professional integrity.
Yet his younger cousin would repeatedly give way for someone he liked.
This is the only possibility; he likes Tiana Thorne.
Amidst his thoughts, he suddenly heard Sebastian open his mouth and say, "Tiana Thorne, she’s my sister."
Joshua Jarvis was taken aback, "Didn’t Auntie once say? None of you fifteen brothers are allowed to privately recognize a god-sister."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, his gaze growing more serious, "Did I ever say she was a god-sister?"
Hearing this, Joshua Jarvis froze. He gripped his cup tightly, hesitated for a second or two before asking, "Sebastian, what do you mean by this?"
Sebastian looked at his hands, pondered for a few seconds, his eyes deepening as he met his gaze. His once gentle voice turned cold.
"Cousin, I know, you’ve already understood."
