Divine Emperor of Death
Chapter 5032: Small Scale Imposition?
Jaiyan and Laphria Rinmei were stunned.
’Little bro, you disturbed our sweet time to discuss something like that?’
However, they guessed it was merely a prelude to some other question and answered truthfully.
"No."
"No."
This time, it was Davis who was stunned.
He looked at them, a bit perplexed, "Why?"
Jaiyan shrugged, "Why would we be interested in reversing the Desolate Era? The heaven and earth energy loathes us Divergents. At our stage, even if we aren’t Anarchic Divergents like you, we still can’t use the heaven and earth energy without resorting to other methods to forcefully breathe in heaven and earth energy, so why would we go out of our way to reverse it?"
"Look, now aren’t the normal people also the same as us, unable to absorb heaven and earth energy properl- Oww!"
Laphria Rinmei pinched Jaiyan’s arm. She smiled at Davis, "It isn’t that cold. How could we reverse what the heavens decided? There’ll be a severe backlash if we try to do anything about it, and I don’t think we can ever succeed in pulling off something like that, as the amount of energy we require will be astronomical, as well as needing many other stopgaps that I have no idea about."
Davis’s gaze flickered.
He knew he had come to the right people when he saw that they were totally clueless about the union of their powers.
"What if I can endure the backlash and further help by being a stopgap?"
"Are you serious?" Jaiyan looked at him, his expression incredulous, "Everyone is searching for you to hunt and seal you. If they see you, you’ll be a goner. Have you forgotten how senior sister Qiyra was forced to use her trump card for you? Doing it a second time will be impossible. They would’ve brought a few necessary treasures to counter it."
"Besides, by going there, you’re just sending yourself to death. If I’m not wrong, killing or sealing you alone should be more or less enough for the tidal wave of the desolate air to recede and heaven and earth energy to return. Why would you go give them what they want?"
"Hah."
Davis chuckled before he shared with them about the intelligence he possessed.
"...!"
Jaiyan and Laphria Rinmei were stunned.
Never in their lifetime had they also seen a wormhole, much less a Galaxy Wormhole. It seems like the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy’s forces arrived from this wormhole?
Noticing the implications, they realized the seriousness of this matter.
If more wormholes popped up, not only could Heaven’s Warriors from other galaxies run rampant to find and exterminate Divergents here, but ordinary forces of the galaxy would also be able to invade the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy.
They would no longer have to go through the blood battlefields across the Realm Pathways of the Greater Realms.
This was an unprecedented threat to humanity as a whole.
If the other galaxies had intentions towards the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy after finishing off the Divergents, it would be quite difficult for humanity to reclaim these realms if they were to end up lost. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Haha."
Davis still couldn’t help but find it amusing, "I’ve thought of inviting these other galaxies myself to create chaos, but it seems like there’s no need for that. They’ll eventually be arriving one after another. Even if that’s not the case, a single ruler of a galaxy is enough to cause the same headache as the Celestial Transcendent. We cannot afford to let another one of them inside, much less the other six rulers."
Davis feared that the ruler of the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy could even be immune to the poison of the Hell Poison Gem’s replica. After all, hydras were mostly immune to the poison of their cultivation and bloodline grade, and sometimes even above.
He felt the need to poison and seal the wormhole before that person could enter the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm, and whether this ruler could enter their galaxy would later depend on whether the Celestial Transcendent allowed it or not.
Nonetheless, Jaiyan and Laphria Rinmei understood that if they did not close these wormholes, more Heaven’s Warriors would descend to hunt them down, ultimately leading to their demise.
"So, what do you two think? Fairy Laphria, your powers can bend reality through illusion, which is unlike any illusion I have ever seen. Brother Jaiyan, you can essentially cause the heavens to reel back with your powers. I don’t know if the heavens are disgusted by you or truly afraid of you, but your two powers combined should be capable of severing heavenly intent that started this desolate air."
Jaiyan went speechless, but Davis continued.
"The source is most likely the place where my tribulation happened. Combined with my ability to ’impose’ through Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, I think we can shatter the heavenly intent and break the spread of desolate air permanently with my Will. After all, it came from my tribulation, so it is only I who should be able to deal with it without enduring a backlash."
"Moreover, this power I’m capable of is the same thing the Sky Word Emperor used in his later years to etch the Sky Word Language into the universe. I don’t believe I can perform a small-scale imposition."
Davis’s gaze sharpened, a faint, dangerous glint swirling within his sapphire pupils.
Jaiyan and Laphria looked at him incredulously.
He was still an Empyrean, right? So why was he planning something that needed Peak Exalts to tackle?
They felt all their powers must be near the layer limit for this matter to even have a possibility of succeeding.
The crackling of the campfire seemed to grow louder in the silence that followed.
Jaiyan lowered his head, his expression no longer playful. His fingers tapped against his knee, slow and deliberate.
"You’re not talking about suppressing the heavens,"
He muttered, his gaze solemn, "You’re talking about shattering it, which is beyond my powers."
Davis didn’t deny it as his gaze matched his.
Laphria Rinmei’s smile gradually faded. Her pink eyes, usually filled with mischief and charm, now carried a rare trace of solemnity.
"This is no different than rewriting heavenly intent, and that’s no different than declaring war against the heavens."
Davis tilted his head, slightly confused, "Haven’t we always been at war with them?"
"Yes, but it’s different." Laphria Rinmei didn’t fully deny, "We do not attack it but survive by resisting the tribulations and avoiding its sight. However, what you are suggesting is dominating the heavens."
Davis shrugged.
That was precisely what he was attempting with trying to impose his Will on heavenly intent.
"Hah... you really are insane."
Jaiyan quivered as he let out a dry chuckle. However, he raised his head, eyes glinting with a strange mix of excitement and dread.
He had always wondered why he had been cursed with such a power, but he felt like he finally had a place to use it and not just bully Heaven’s Warriors.
Laphria Rinmei closed her eyes for a moment. Illusory ripples faintly distorted the space around her as her pink air rose into the air, shimmering with a faint translucent light as though displaying how she was brainstorming through innumerable simulations in her mind.
Her brows narrowed as she sent a soul transmission, "So you’re trying to create a false ’truth’ with my illusions that will make the heavenly intent think that you’re dead, allowing it to become vulnerable, but fooling it is not simple, so you intend to also have me restore heaven and earth energy through bending reality in order to confuse it and then enforce rejection on the heavenly intent with senior Jaiyan’s power and then finally impose your Will on it to shatter it. It sounds like a viable method, but my calculations can’t keep up as there are too many unknown factors that could impede us."
"What are you doing?" Davis suddenly felt some sense of unease.
Disregarding how this cheerful senior sister suddenly became a solemn calculator, he wondered if her simulations would preemptively offend the heavens. And he was shocked, considering her calculations were almost precise as to what he planned to do, except she hadn’t considered how he also had a backup plan, which was even more downright ridiculous and dangerous, although he didn’t know if he would succeed.
"Don’t worry. We are Divergents. My illusion ability is reserved for myself and occurs in my physique’s inner world. The heavens can’t listen in on us or break through my illusory-real simulations without breaking the natural course of the universe, which reveals itself through heavenly clouds."
"Oh..." Davis inwardly heaved a sigh of relief.
He believed her since Fallen Heaven also didn’t show any signs of hiding. He now actively sensed its presence, so when it disappeared, he would know the heavens were more or less peeping.
In truth, Davis didn’t want to talk about this matter before it was time since he didn’t think he could succeed in this endeavor without enough preparations and cultivation, but his sudden sense of crisis that came from having information and his instinct over determining fate led him to believe if he didn’t make a move now, it would be too late to act.
Hence, he revealed his plan to them earlier, despite it might have some adverse effect on fate, which comes back to bite them.
He needed these two to think and prepare, and naturally, he wouldn’t take no for an answer, prepared to spend a lot of time convincing them, but he still asked.
"So, are you two in?"
Jaiyan and Laphria Rinmei looked at each other before they smiled.
