After a brief rest in the ancient city, Feng Yuan’s group once again stepped into the Maze of Mirrors. This time, the entrance to the passageway was in front of an underground palace. Once inside, it felt as though they had entered a labyrinthine underground maze. If that were all, it would have been fine.

But in reality, those passageways included mirror image paths and real paths hidden by phantoms.

"Are phantoms included in mirror images?"

Feng Yuan looked at Veronia with some doubt. In his understanding, phantoms shouldn’t be within the scope of mirror images, right?

"Yes, in a sense, it’s indeed so. A mirror image existing independently of a mirror; you can’t deny that it is related to mirror images."

Veronia understood Feng Yuan’s point. It chuckled and, seeing Veronia say so, Feng Yuan had no choice but to reluctantly acknowledge that the Maze of Mirrors wasn’t just stirring up trouble.

Veronia, who governs the World of Mirrors, naturally wouldn’t mistake these concepts. Feng Yuan had thought those phantoms had no connection with the Mirror Image World.

"However, this method makes finding the exit very troublesome."

Examining these endlessly repeating passageways, Veronia chuckled lightly and said, sighing, while Feng Yuan helplessly shook his head, saying:

"There’s no way around it. With the Data Domain’s support, they clearly let loose."

Normally, such entertainment mazes wouldn’t be so expansive. Not to mention the land area, the mechanisms are limited, not to mention that the Maze of Mirrors must be related to mirrors.

However, the emergence of the Data Domain directly solved this problem. Any mechanism they could conceive could be incorporated into the Data Domain.

This resulted in the Maze of Mirrors having exceptionally complex mechanisms, many of which do not exist in reality, as reality cannot effortlessly alter physical rules like the Data Domain can.

"Perhaps, but such a complex maze would be hard to navigate without a reference, I’m afraid."

Veronia glanced around and remarked, the maze’s overlapping phantoms made the already complex maze even more chaotic. Without using abilities, Veronia couldn’t say for sure that she could find her way out.

"There should be some hints, but where are the hints? It can’t be the scare tactics of those Ghost Series Spirit Beasts again, can it?"

Examining the surrounding environment, Feng Yuan expressed uncertainty. This labyrinth had already exceeded the realm of entertainment. At the very least, Feng Yuan felt that in this place, let alone finding an exit, they might not even realize they were retracing their steps after losing their sense of direction.

Although he couldn’t see the full picture, Feng Yuan always felt the place seemed quite large.

"Maybe, there’s another possibility."

Dou Yanlan placed her hand on the wall and said as Feng Yuan looked at her with some confusion. She suddenly punched the wall with force, and with a crisp sound, the group witnessed an astonishing scene.

The wall that Dou Yanlan shattered turned into a mirror with no reflection, and beyond it, mirrors without reflection were neatly arranged at certain intervals.

The surrounding walls shattered like glass, revealing the true surroundings. From high above, those circles of mirrors lined up neatly, circling around Feng Yuan and the others, expanding outward in concentric circles.

"This..."

Feng Yuan watched this scene in amazement, feeling that even if they couldn’t view it from above, it still looked peculiar.

"As expected, there was a sign at the entrance that said sometimes necessary destruction won’t bring punishment; that must be referring to this."

Dou Yanlan nodded as she saw the circles of mirrors, and Feng Yuan scratched his head, looking at Veronia as he said.

"Was there? How come I didn’t see it?"

"There was, right below the entrance sign. I was puzzled as to why it was mentioned there."

Veronia nodded to confirm it, and Feng Yuan had missed it simply because his attention was entirely on the area beyond the entrance and paid no heed to the signs.

"Hmm, then I must not have noticed. But these mirrors don’t need to be shattered, right?"

Walking around one of the mirrors, Feng Yuan spoke with some doubt, noticing that what was previously a non-reflective surface now suddenly showed his image.

But that image didn’t mimic his actions; instead, it smiled and pointed to the side.

"This is..."

Feng Yuan followed the direction indicated by the image with some doubt and found another image of himself in the mirror. Feng Yuan chose not to follow its lead and acted as if he hadn’t seen anything.

Unlike Feng Yuan, the others didn’t seem to see anything unusual. Qi Chen inspected their surroundings with some confusion and said,

"This place looks quite large."

"It’s big, but it’s unlikely to get lost. I wonder if we can leave any marks."

Squeezing her chin, Dou Yanlan said, as she couldn’t see the image in the mirror and thus was unable to predict how to move forward.

"Did you see something?"

Veronia approached Feng Yuan quietly and asked, having noticed Feng Yuan’s unusual reaction.

Spreading his hands, Feng Yuan said,

"Sort of, but I’m not sure if it’s a trick, so I’m holding off for now."

The image didn’t vanish, instead staying where it was. Feng Yuan wasn’t in a hurry and merely followed Qi Chen and the others, speculating. At this moment, Qi Chen noticed that his image had appeared in the mirror, pointing in a direction.

"Huh?! What’s that? A reflection?"

Pointing at the mirror, Qi Chen exclaimed to the group, and Feng Yuan glanced at Qi Chen’s mirror, which was not the same one as his. Without saying a word, Feng Yuan looked at Dou Yanlan.

Seeing no image in the mirror, she thought for a moment and said,

"Ah Chen, describe what you see."

After some exchange, Dou Yanlan looked at Feng Yuan and said,

"You were the first to notice, right?"

Feng Yuan’s reaction was obvious. He wasn’t curious about Qi Chen’s discovery in the least; in fact, he seemed entirely unconcerned, indicating that Feng Yuan already knew about this. However, it wasn’t possible for him to have known beforehand.

This could only mean Feng Yuan had already spotted the same situation but hadn’t mentioned it.

"Yes, I should be. When I saw it, you guys didn’t react, but I’m not sure if it was just a diversion. After all, the Maze of Mirrors is quite tricky."

"A diversion? It’s not impossible. Wait, I see a similar image. Let’s split up and follow our own reflections, calling out as we go to see if we regroup in the same direction."

Noticing her image had also appeared, Dou Yanlan suggested, as this place was relatively open, allowing their voices to carry far.

"Alright, let’s do that. If we can’t hear each other’s voices, we should find a way to regroup. The sky above should pose no limitations."

Feng Yuan looked up at the expansive sky, the inky blackness devoid of stars. He suspected there was no sky-dome effect set up.

The three proceeded as directed by their reflections, initially moving in disparate directions, but after walking for a while, Feng Yuan noticed the other’s calls growing louder.

"We’ve regrouped, it seems."

Veronia glanced at ’Qi Chen’ and ’Dou Yanlan,’ saying, while Feng Yuan furrowed his brows:

"Not necessarily. Xiao Ji, get ready to act!"

"Mirrors?"

Veronia was taken aback, as it hadn’t perceived any issue with Qi Chen or Dou Yanlan. Yet, as Feng Yuan suddenly took action, both figures shattered like glass, vanishing.

The surroundings grew silent, and Feng Yuan sneered, stamping the ground forcefully. At this moment, Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan stood with eyes shut, completely oblivious to what had transpired.

"An illusion attack, using an old trick, indeed."

Feng Yuan shook his head slightly, choosing not to awaken Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan. Primarily, what they were viewing was merely an illusion or rather a locator. Once Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan realized what had happened, they’d be returned to this position by the Data Domain.

Shortly after, Qi Chen recovered first, observing his surroundings in disbelief as he spoke,

"What just happened here?"

"We were unknowingly spatially transferred, probably at that exact moment we regrouped. Truly treacherous."

Feng Yuan chuckled and explained. He had deduced the moment when the spatial transfer had occurred. However, being in the Data Domain, even Veronia hadn’t perceived it.

Luckily, thanks to prior experiences, Feng Yuan remained cautious and noticed the anomaly immediately.

"Really..."

Shaking his head, Qi Chen couldn’t comprehend why the Maze of Mirrors would have such a feature.
