Chapter 1141 - 1139: Holding a Meeting
In the meeting room of the President’s Mansion, many people gathered, including heads of various government departments, along with well-known scholars and experts from society.
The reason for their gathering here was the recent news report on television—Silver Currency!
In fact, the Federation Government was aware of the Silver Alliance and Silver Currency matters earlier than many others, and they indeed played a role in this.
They helped some small countries join this Silver Alliance, but now problems have arisen.
The Silver Alliance and Silver Currency are both facing issues, which were not part of their initial plan.
At the beginning, when Mr. Truman heard the news report on TV, he felt there was something problematic about Silver Currency; he had heard Lynch talk about some theoretical knowledge about currency.
He never told Lynch that he had seriously read what Lynch referred to as ’theories’, including those related to finance and economics, and also those concerning currency; he had read them all.
The emergence of Silver Currency is quite dangerous for Federation citizens whose ambitions are expanding. After listening to Mr. Truman’s analysis, the President sought opinions from others as well, and gradually realized that the situation had become troublesome.
The harmful effects brought by the spread of Silver Currency exceeded the President’s expectations. He had thought it was just a loose alliance, a closed loop.
But the current situation was not the case. In fact, at the scene of the meeting, more information hadn’t been shown to the viewers in front of the TV screens.
For example, there are some other countries and regions hoping to join the Silver Alliance; their purpose is very straightforward—using another approach to resist the current group.
It includes the Gafura Group, the Gafura Group, and the Peng Jieao Group.
Peng Jieao is the core country among the Defeated Country group this time. Although defeated, the overall strength of the country has not shown significant signs of decline; rather, because of this failed war, power is highly concentrated in the hands of the ruler.
Moreover, social conflicts have been shifted from inside to outside, rejuvenating this country with new vigor and strength.
The reason for all this is the formidable land force of Peng Jieao. They have defeated many invaders and have been invaders themselves, invading other countries. Their land forces have continued being trained amidst ongoing conflicts.
Gafura and other countries limit their attacks and invasions to coastal areas. It might be one of the few countries that, despite losing the war, didn’t suffer much losses but instead strengthened the ruling group’s power.
The military potential of this country far exceeds people’s imagination.
With these three power groups existing, many small countries and Neutral Countries that were undecided during the First World War have gradually perceived the development and changes in some situations.
Mariluo did not participate in the First World War; the country was embroiled in intense domestic conflicts, leaving no time to showcase their power internationally.
But now, the Federation has invaded it!
No matter how the Federation officially sugarcoats these wars, to those countries with little military or economic strength in the international community, it’s a goddamn invasion!
If this isn’t an invasion, then nothing is.
This shameless style and attitude make people sense crisis, where banding together with similar countries at this time might be the best option.
Because compared to those powerful entities vying for recognition as the world’s most formidable nation, they are too weak.
Even if they don’t challenge those three military groups, these ambitions are too grand, and there might not be any place big enough to accommodate them!
The Silver Alliance is their good way to resist these powers, just expressing a stance that shouldn’t be trifled with to make these people aware they are not entirely defenseless.
This is what they intend to express; if more countries join the Silver Alliance, the larger the scale of the alliance, the safer they will be.
Simultaneously, Silver Currency will keep spreading outwards during this process, circulating in more countries and regions.
This is a contagious type of spread, and it won’t take long before Silver Currency becomes the mainstream international settlement currency.
On that day, how will the Federation break through this impasse?
Opposing the world?
The Gafura will certainly laugh aloud; the Federation has finally chosen the most damn stupid decision!
This is also the core of today’s meeting—how to break the Silver Alliance.
At this point, even if Silver plummets, it’s actually very difficult to destroy the Silver Alliance; it has already become not just an organization uniting many small countries solely through Silver.
It’s also these small countries’ protection against powerful nations.
After putting on his work badge, Lynch found a seat and sat down, waiting a while longer, as the situation had arisen suddenly and some people hadn’t arrived yet.
After around ten minutes, the President shook his head and said, "We won’t wait," and the doors of the meeting room were closed.
Meanwhile, security workers outside informed those claiming to be participants that no further entry would be granted.
They disrespect time and the President; no matter their reasons, they’re no excuse!
One can consider their current work to be important, or their present guests to be crucial—life is spent in continual choices.
Once you choose what seems fit, you better not regret it!
With the doors shut, it became a closed-door meeting, meaning those tardy would not come in, nor have future opportunities to partake in events hosted by the President.
He was a very agreeable person, easily convinced, and at times wavered in stance.
Nonetheless, he holds grudges!
One cannot blame an old man for harboring grudges—he’s been forgiving all his life, reaching an age where he can indulge in a little whimsy!
Soon the materials were distributed; Lynch took a glance and tossed them back onto the table.
"Mr. Lynch, have you seen these materials?" someone abruptly interrupted with a question, a somewhat insidious remark, so much so that Lynch hadn’t initially realized it was an attacking comment.
Had he claimed he’d seen them, regardless of whether the President had truly shown him or had informed him otherwise, he’d become disliked by the President.
The reason is simple—the higher one’s position, the more one hopes to demonstrate their fairness and impartiality to others.
If Lynch said he’d seen them, this implies the President is no longer that fair and impartial figure and cannot represent those excellent qualities.
This is a very cunning method of attack, one that is even unnoticeable at first, but by the time people realize it, it may already be too late.
Glancing at the gentleman opposite, whom he didn’t recognize, Lynch shook his head, "I’ve seen these materials for the first time."
The individual opposite smiled, saying no more.
Their brief conversation, though only two lines long, attracted some people’s attention.
The President looked at Lynch, with some anticipation on his face, "Lynch, what’s your view on the Silver Alliance and Silver Currency?"
This is a very rudimentary and ordinary opening; the President can’t possibly start by directly discussing how to collapse the alliance or sabotage Silver Currency.
His level isn’t so low; he can’t utter such undignified dialogue.
Therefore, he needs to dress it slightly; if Silver Alliance and Silver Currency can pose unforeseen severe consequences for the Federation, then acting against these people and their Silver Currency becomes quite normal.
After all, this is also a move to safeguard the sixty to seventy million Federation citizens; who can argue against that?
In the Federation, there’s no "concealment of one’s expertise"; if you don’t display it, no one will ever see your value.
Lynch nodded, "The Silver Alliance and Silver Currency pose immeasurable danger to the Federation; we should tell them to quickly cease such foolish actions; otherwise, it can easily trigger a new round of confrontation, even war."
The President froze for a moment; he quickly glanced at Mr. Truman, unsure, asking, "Is it... that serious?"
"Yes, Mr. President, more serious than you imagine!"
Lynch then familiarized everyone with the relationship within currency theory, "...Once we fail to suppress the value and role of Silver Currency in settlement, more countries will reserve some Silver Currency for use in foreign trade."
"Ultimately, the status of Silver Currency will be difficult to shake, even possessing absolute advantage when facing Fla and Sol."
"Regardless of how the exchange rate of Silver Currency fluctuates, we will become very passive and disadvantaged; they can even manipulate the exchange rate to plunder our wealth."
He glanced slightly at the one who set a trap for him opposite, "If you’ve read my previous work ’Economic Warfare Theory’, you should understand how significant international settlement currency impacts a country!"
Upon hearing this, the President immediately straightened his spine, "So it greatly impacts the Federation?"
Lynch solemnly nodded, "Indeed, very significantly; it endangers the nation’s interests and those of the people!"
"Mr. President, to prevent such occurrences, I believe when necessary, force can initially solve the problem!"
Just moments ago the President, looking serious and appearing keen on making earnest resolutions, suddenly showed some awkwardness; Lynch’s statement was too radical—he didn’t particularly favor war.
Previously, it was like this, currently still so, and it’ll remain so in the future.
Of course, if someone’s actions adversely affect his position and power, then he wouldn’t mind using forceful methods to resolve differences.
However, this is not what he desires!
"I’ll seriously consider your suggestion, take a seat, Lynch," the President motioned for him to close his mouth, then turned to others, "I invited numerous people, not just Mr. Lynch. Perhaps you all possess some thoughts?"
