Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls
Chapter 437: The Start
There was peace and calm for the next few days and Lin Xuan Qi went about his days as usual.
The delivery for the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence was produced in time and he only had to wait for the security escort team from the Huo Clan to come around again.
It was already too cold for the fishermen to go out to sea and gather Kelp.
He had heard that some of the fishermen had started to experiment on growing the Kelp in the sea so that they would have it as a stable and predictable income for them.
It was something welcoming for him as when the demand increased even more with the expansion to Gui Feng City, there would be a need for more of the Kelp.
And it would only be sustainable if they started to farm it instead of randomly harvesting the Kelp from the seas.
"Let’s get back to the mansion." Lin Xuan Qi said and Lee He Song nodded his head.
He was at the factory in the south to check on Cao, making sure that Cao was able to handle the new role as the supervisor of the factory.
Cao didn’t disappoint and things ran smoothly.
"Remember to buy enough firewood and ensure that the workers stay warm throughout the winter.
"I’ve asked to make more coats for the workers and they should be delivered soon." Lin Xuan Qi said and turned around to head for the horse carriage.
It was getting colder by the day.
He wasn’t cold with the warmth coming out from his dantian, but Lin Xuan Qi preferred to be back in the mansion.
Feeling warm and being served by his wife and concubines was a far better option to him.
"Bring us back to the mansion." Lin Xuan Qi said to the coachman after he and Lee He Song got onto the horse carriage.
Whip.
The whip of the coachman cracked and the horse carriage started moving.
Lin Xuan Qi glanced out of the window and watched the scenery passing by as the horse carriage passed through the streets.
The pedestrians were fewer now that it was cold and they tugged their coats close to their bodies as they went about their day.
Hawkers were shivering while they waited for customers to come and buy their food.
It would be a tough time ahead for many and some might not make it to the next spring due to the cold and lack of food.
After paying for the autumn tax, many had barely enough left.
As the horse carriage got to a street with shops lining by the side, it was stopped by a crowd that had gathered in front of one of the shops selling jewelry.
"What’s happening?" Lee He Song asked the coachman and the coachman shrugged his shoulders.
Lin Xuan Qi frowned and he had a bad feeling about it.
It all seemed so... familiar.
His hunch was right when the staff from the jewelry shop shouted at a group of men.
"The jewelry we sell here are authentic, don’t you dare accuse us of selling fakes."
"Authentic? You call these authentic?" The Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple pretending to be an agitated customer took out a bunch of necklaces and threw them at the face of the staff.
The staff gritted his teeth as anger burned within his chest, he wanted to lash out but he controlled his anger at the last moment.
Sima Ye had told them to be restrained when someone came to find trouble out of nowhere.
He looked at the necklaces that the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple had thrown in his face and saw that some of the gold had come off from the necklaces.
But it was impossible, their jewelry were all authentic.
The staff took a closer look and realized that the workmanship of the necklaces was so bad that it couldn’t have possibly been from their shop.
"These aren’t from our shop!" The staff held one of the necklaces up in the air and said, "Look at how shoddy it looks."
The crowd took a glance and they nodded their heads in agreement.
All of them knew how intricate the workmanship from the jewelry shop was.
They began to point at the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple and chattered.
"How could he do such a thing."
"Is he for real?"
"The Sima Family haven’t been too peaceful recently."
It got noisy while they chattered but it was not over for the staff and the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple.
The Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple took a step forward towards the staff, trying to get the staff to make a move on him.
But the staff stepped aside and did nothing else instead.
"What are you trying to do?" The staff pointed at the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple and said.
But the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple wasn’t there to reason, he turned and tried to get the staff to throw a punch at him.
Again, the staff controlled himself and tried to step aside.
But it wasn’t enough.
Splatter.
All of a sudden, blood splattered out from the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciple’s neck.
The disciple pointed at the staff and tried to say something to him.
But there was only a gargling sound coming out from his mouth.
He knelt and then fell forward flat onto the ground.
Everyone froze and didn’t know what had happened right in front of their eyes.
Lin Xuan Qi saw men wearing Six Pulse Sword Sect’s cultivation robes rushing towards the jewelry shop and he knew that he had better get away from where he was.
It has finally begun.
"Turn around and make a detour." Lin Xuan Qi said to the coachman and the coachman cracked his whip.
The horse carriage turned around and left the scene within a few moments.
When the Six Pulse Sword Sect disciples gathered in front of the jewelry shop, the crowd also knew that it was time for them to leave.
Who knows what these cultivators were up to?
