Chillin' on an Uninhabited Island in Another World
Chapter 96: Scarves and Cutlets
I headed to the living room with Chiyu.
Anywhere would work as long as the two of us could be alone, so this place was fine.
I used Crafting Ability to generate a cashmere scarf and finished the preparations.
“Could you close your eyes?”
“Mm. You don’t need to do this. Kisses are welcome anytime.”
“No... well, never mind.”
With her eyes closed, Chiyu really did look like she was waiting for a kiss, and my heart gave a little jump.
But that was not my goal.
I placed the cashmere scarf so that it wrapped around Chiyu’s neck.
“...?”
“You can open your eyes.”
“――――. So-kun, is this...”
Chiyu’s eyes widened faintly.
“Remember? You said you wanted cashmere on the first day. Here you go. Cashmere goat hair.”
Chiyu checked the feel of the scarf around her neck.
Then she murmured softly.
“...You remembered a conversation that tiny?”
“Shouko was surprised by that too... Is it really that strange?”
“Mm. Back in Japan, So-kun was supposed to be the dense protagonist type.”
“First of all, I’m not a protagonist.”
A class background character only became a protagonist in fiction.
Well, it was true that we had gotten caught up in something that felt like fiction...
“Joke. So-kun isn’t hard of hearing, he remembers things from the past properly, and he doesn’t make weird misunderstandings. He just didn’t confess to his childhood friend who was guaranteed to say yes until he became a high school student.”
“Ugh...”
It was true that I had not been able to fully believe in Chiyu’s feelings.
If I had been certain she would go out with me, I probably would have confessed ages ago.
In other words, rather than being dense, I had simply lacked resolve.
It was only after getting sent to a deserted island that I had finally managed to tell her how I felt.
Before I knew it, a harem had formed too, and things had become rather different from normal.
“So-kun.”
“What is it?”
Chiyu hid her mouth behind the scarf and looked up at me with flushed cheeks and moist eyes.
“Thank you. I’m really happy.”
Just seeing that expression made all the trouble of collecting the hair worth it.
“You’re welcome. Everyone helped too.”
“Mm. But So-kun, you should give these to everyone. For the sake of the harem, you must not distinguish between girls.”
As ✧ NоvеIight ✧ (Original source) expected of Chiyu, maybe.
She immediately paid attention to maintaining this group and to how the girls would feel.
“A-ahaha... I was actually just thinking I should make scarves for everyone.”
“That’s good. For me... the fact that So-kun remembered, and that you gave it to me first, is enough. It preserves my dignity as the legal wife.”
I decided not to touch the whole legal wife thing.
“As for the scarves, I’ll do what you said. Also, there’s enough fabric for one sweater, so I was thinking I’d ask what you wanted and generate something for you. Anything in mind?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, really? Let’s hear it.”
“A virgin-killer sweater.”
My childhood friend said it with her usual expressionless face.
I froze despite myself.
“――――”
“Should I say it again?”
“No, that’s fine. I heard you.”
“I see. I thought you would say, ‘I’m not a virgin anymore, though.’”
“I’m not going to brag like that.”
“Joke.”
“Sure, sure. So... you mean that, right? The sweater you’re talking about is the one with a short length, bare shoulders, an open back, and depending on the design, not much fabric over the chest either.”
“Mm. I request a design that shows not only cleavage, but the top and bottom of my chest too.”
Why did she so proactively try to fulfill boys’ dreams?
I was happy, but it was so convenient that it left me bewildered.
“If you’re okay with it, I’ll make it, but... don’t force yourself, all right?”
“What makes So-kun happy makes me happiest. So-kun worked hard for me too.”
“Ah... well, sure. I did collect goat hair while imagining how happy you’d be...”
“Same thing.”
“Is it the same?”
“If I told So-kun to wear something, you would wear anything for me too.”
“I mean, I’d want to respond as much as I could. But there are limits.”
“Cross-dressing. A reverse bunny outfit. You would wear them.”
“Sorry, but apparently there’s a temperature difference between your love and mine.”
I did not have that much resolve.
“There is not.”
“I’m not wearing them. Absolutely not.”
Besides, Chiyu was not supposed to have preferences like that.
“Sousukeee. I’m going to make lunch, so could you bring Minori and Chiyu out with you? Since we’re at it, I thought we could eat lunch outside too.” 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Shion’s voice came from the entrance.
“Yeah, got it!”
I raised my voice a little to answer her.
“I’ll go call Minori.”
“Mm. Even if Minorin’s butt is attractive, try not to keep everyone waiting too long.”
“I-I know...”
Apparently, the details of what I did with each girl were being shared among the girls and used to better suit my tastes and preferences.
But even so, knowing that what I had done with someone had been found out was still embarrassing.
I went upstairs, called out to Minori, and then headed outside with her.
Today’s lunch was venison and boar meat cutlets.
There was even miso soup and what she said were pickles made overnight.
If only we had rice, it would have been a perfect cutlet set meal.
Shion had prepared bread she baked too.
Well, cutlet sandwiches existed in the world, so it was not as if the pairing was terribly strange.
I wanted rice, but wheat had been chosen last time when it came up as a two-choice option against rice, so we had no idea when the next chance to obtain it would come.
“Shii-chan is the best.”
“Roa helped too.”
“Roa-chii is the best too.”
“You honor me.”
“This really is good.”
“Mm. Bread works too.”
“It’s really delicious, but... is there some rule here where lunch and dinner have to be things boys like?”
“Ghk.”
Shion’s shoulders twitched at Yumekai’s comment.
Apparently, Shion had been designing the menu with a slight bias toward me.
Some of the members seemed to have noticed too, because Minori and Roa were smiling warmly.
“Really? I think it’s fine.”
“Shouko, haven’t you put on a little weight? Even though this is supposed to be a harsh deserted island life, is it because you’re eating so much good food?”
“N-n-n-n-no I haven’t! ...Okay, maybe a little. But we have Chiyu’s rapid weight-loss method, so it’s fine!”
“Huh...? There’s no way something like that exists.”
“No, it does exist, Yumekai. Sousuke actually tightened up his body that way.”
Minori explained.
“Yeah, that’s right. When you move your body under Strength Up, you get tired enough to feel like you’re dying, but if Chiyu casts Basic Heal on you, your stamina recovers. Then you just repeat that, and you can get an insane amount of exercise done in a short time.”
Yumekai had been looking at us like she could not believe it, but after hearing the explanation, she fell into thought.
“...So if you exercise efficiently and remove the stamina limit too, you can do several months’ worth of training in one day? ...If Healing Magic can heal muscle fatigue too, then it might work. You could probably train cardiopulmonary function that way as well.”
“Mm. The downside is that it’s unbearably painful. So-kun endured it well.”
“Ahaha. At the time, part of it was because I wanted to win the event.”
At school, there were times when we had our long-distance running times measured, and people with zero stamina ended up completely exhausted by it.
That had been me before.
The suffering back then had been enough to curse the world, but the fatigue after moving at high speed with Strength Up was easily several times worse.
Still, because Chiyu had Basic Heal, it was much better than it could have been.
Actually, without Basic Heal, I would not have been able to keep going at all.
“I see. So Shouko, you’re prepared to endure that diet.”
“Of coursity-course! I was planning to have Chiyu help me after lunch! Because, um... I have to solve this by the end of today.”
“By the end of today?”
“N-nothing!”
As Yumekai tilted her head, Shouko’s face went bright red and she dodged the question.
My own face heated slightly too.
Right.
Tonight’s turn belonged to Shouko.
