Child of Destiny
Chapter 2168: Hidden Experts
...
Creak!
When the door of the VIP room opened, Mister Jiang, who had been waiting for the arrival of Diabo and Alucard for quite a while now, immediately jumped off his seat and spoke.
"Finally! You have arrived! Do you know how long I am waiting for you now?" he immediately complained right after seeing the two walk inside.
Alucard slightly raised his brows when he heard the other party and suddenly said. "Oh! It is the midget!"
Hearing this, Mister Jiang immediately exploded. "Hey! Hey! Now you are getting personal! Let me tell you, it is not because I am small! It is because you are just too tall!"
Alucard just smirked when he heard this before ignoring Mister Jiang altogether and taking his seat.
Diablo had also taken his seat already, waiting for Mister Jiang to start filling them in on the details of the current operation.
"Hmph!" Mister Jiang glared at Alucard before closing the door and returning to his seat.
He then immediately opened a virtual screen, projecting a series of information to the two. "This is all the information that we have about the current situation."
He refused to elaborate on anything at first, letting the two skimmed through all the data that he had gathered over the last few days.
Ever since he had been offered the position of being the head information officer of the Empyrean Talon, he had been doing his best to gather as much information as possible, regardless of whether it was important or not.
This was similar to his previous job as an information merchant anyway, so it was not too hard to adjust to his previous routine.
Given all his channels and connections, it would not be too hard to gather all kinds of information.
Then there were also the new channels that Miss Bunny had introduced to him, which also meant other forms of information that he had never known.
With all these channels and connections, he was about to learn a few more things, opening a whole new world for himself.
As for this set of information that he had gotten about the so-called portal tower, another realm or world came from one of the new channels that he had opened for information exchange.
Then there was also some information about the Rise Guild and its leaders, which came from the new connection that he had built from Miss Bunny’s introductions.
Right now, he has multiple channels that focus on different things, such as NPC information, region information, dungeon information, treasure information, quest information, guild information, and many more.
He had just stumbled upon this set of information about the portal by chance, which he immediately focused on after learning its possible connection with another realm.
After gathering all the information necessary for this operation and arranged them well, he managed to create the set that perfectly covered everything that Diablo and Alucard needed.
"I must admit that I am impressed," Alucard gave an honest remark after seeing the set of information projected to them.
"Hmph! Of course!" Mister Jiang was feeling quite smug about this after hearing such a remark.
He had always been doing well, even when he was working alone, what more now that he had more people under his arsenal.
The manpower that Miss Bunny and Hand of Midas had provided him and had invested in this information network was paying off quite well.
After reading through everything, Alucard slightly nodded his head before commenting. "So, some of our initial suspicions are right."
"Being betrayed and sold by your own people must have left a bad taste on him," he added after learning more about the current situation.
"Right now, he is almost alone within the guild with no one to lean on. Everyone from the elder position and down is plotting against him or persuading him to ’team up’ with the powers that were supporting them from behind."
"There are also those hyenas who are eyeing him from the dark, waiting for the right opportunity to strike."
"Once all these pressures become intolerable for him to endure, I wonder what kind of choice he will make," he mumbled after having a clear view of the current situation.
"Felix of the Rise Guild, huh? He is quite good. His strength and skills are more than enough to put him in the ranks of Maverick Rankers, just a shy behind to come the top-rank ones among them," commented Diablo, seemingly recalling some information from the database of the Pandemonium Descendants that he still remembered.
"Oh!? You know this guy?" asked Alucard, seemingly wanting to learn more about their ’target’.
Diablo thought for a moment, seemingly organizing the information that he had before continuing. "He is quite a talented rookie who has been keeping a low profile when he joins the game until he decides to create a guild with some friends and his twin sister."
"He has gotten the attention of the Pandemonium Descendants after one of the Troupe Members encountered him during a mission."
"During that time, that Troupe Member, along with his people, suffered a bit of defeat under his hands and his twin," he added, trying to recall which Troupe Member it was. "If my memory serves me right, then that guy must be Buer, the guy who is responsible for information gathering within the organization."
"We have tried to recruit him as well, planning to nurture him as one of the troupe members at that time, but he has rejected the proposal without any hesitation, even challenging the entire organization."
"Of course, he is unaware of the real background of the Pandemonium Descendants at that time, so he is quite confident and full of favor when he challenges the organization," he chuckled, finding it a bit ridiculous.
"The organization can crush him and his little guild at that time, but the leader finds no merit in it, so he left it to the other members, particularly Buer, who have been in conflict with him."
"Fortunately for him, the organization has the time to deal with small fries like him since we have been in the most crucial development stage at that time."
Hearing this, Alucard seemed to have gotten a rough idea before asking. "So, you are saying that this guy does have some skills?"
Diablo nodded before adding. "If we rank him within our team, then he should be around Akailu or even Owen’s level."
Raising his brows, Alucard then nodded. "Then he should be quite decent."
However, Diablo immediately added. "He is indeed good. But the one who truly discourages Buer to not engaged on them is his twin sister."
"Oh~!" Alucard seemed to have become more interested after hearing about this.
Finding a much more skilled player than Felix’s level could only mean a single thing. That person must be at ’God Level’ within the game, either a Godlike Player or a Maverick God.
"I am not sure about the details either, but from what I have heard at that time, that girl is quite fierce, slaughtering Buer’s people quite one-sidedly when she joins the second battle," said Diablo, trying to recall as much information as he could.
Unfortunately, the information that he had at that time on this matter was a bit too vague.
It was at this moment that Mister Jiang had suddenly injected. "If it is the fierce girl that you guys are talking about, then it must be Felicia, the shadow leader of the Rise Guild."
"Not many know her, so it is quite hard to dig more information about her. I have only accidentally stumbled upon her when I am digging around the elders of the guild, particularly the ones who refused to openly antagonize Felix."
He then swiped through the virtual screen projected before them before stopping on a certain panel and enlarging it.
There was no photo attached to it, but there was a series of incomplete information about a certain individual within the Rise Guild, who seemed to have struck fear into everyone.
"Based on the information that I have gotten, they seem to be calling her the ’Witch’ or something."
"Her skills are quite above the ceiling of everyone within this small kingdom, making her an untouchable existence."
"The guild has even considered her as an independent unit, who will only move once the situation has turned too dire for them to solve."
"There are quite a few people who have attempted to use her to their own benefit, using the phrases ’in the name of the guild’ or ’for the sake of the guild leader’. However, they all have been booted out of the guild in return and gotten themselves hunted down until they are forced to leave the kingdom altogether."
"This is when the guild’s higher-ups have called her the shadow leader of the guild," he continued while showing more information about this matter.
"She is quite elusive and extremely hard to find, making it hard to gauge her strength. This is also the main reason why no one dares to openly provoke the Rise Guild yet, afraid that they will awaken such a demoness."
"However, since bigger guilds and larger organizations have started to get involved in this matter, those who are hesitating to provoke them and waiting for the right opportunity to overthrow Felix have found themselves a backbone and started getting aggressive recently."
"They no longer feared Felix or his twin sister, Felicia, since they knew that those powers behind them would send corresponding experts or even god-level players to support their actions."
After this, the two went silent for a moment, seemingly falling into deep thought.
Alucard was tapping his finger on the table while Diablo closed his eyes; both seemed to be thinking about something.
"So, what’s the plan?" asked Alucard after some time. "What are your thoughts?"
"We will wait," responded Diablo in almost in an instant.
"Wait for what?" asked Alucard, seemingly trying to find what the latter was thinking. "Wait until the Rise Guild is put in the corner before lending a hand, acting as their hero? Or wait until everyone crushes the Rise Guild and plans to divide the ’loots’ among themselves?"
"We do wait until the Rise Guild has disbanded," Diablo briefly nodded his head before shaking it later. "But not in the hands of those fools hiding in the dark, but by the leaders themselves."
These words confused both Alucard and Mister Jiang, unable to fully comprehend their meaning.
"What will those leaders destroy their own guild?" asked Mister Jiang subconsciously.
Diablo did not immediately respond and just pulled the stack of information projected before them, seemingly arranging it.
Mister Jiang was still confused while watching Diablo’s actions, but Alucard seemed to have figured out something after seeing the set of information that Diablo had just arranged.
"Eh!? Damn! What a sneaky pair! They do have some tricks up their sleeves!"
