Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Jiang Sifan: I Was Just Hitting Him, I Forgot to Hit You

「At this moment.」

「Inside Wanda Plaza.」

Jiang Sifan clenched his fists, searching for them.

Although he was fuming, he forced himself to calm down. He had to find Huang Hui and demand an explanation in person.

Seeing is believing. Jiang Sifan couldn’t just take one photo and a few words from Hu Ke as proof that Huang Hui had betrayed him.

But Wanda Plaza was huge. Where was he even supposed to look?

He had no idea where Huang Hui and the other guy were, so he could only search on a gut feeling.

But Jiang Sifan was also torn.

’What am I going to do when I find them?’

’Get a straight answer and then chew them out?’

’Or beat them up?’

’If I hit someone, will I go to jail?’

He was only a freshman with so much of his youth still ahead.

His startup project wasn’t finished yet.

Wen Wan was still waiting for him at the milk tea shop.

He still had to tutor He Lingyi and help her get into her dream university.

And his mom and sister both just wanted the best for him.

Even as Jiang Sifan searched, his mind was a total mess. He had no idea what he should do next.

「Meanwhile.」

After Huang Hui and Lin Qiang came up from the underground parking garage,

Huang Hui asked, "Where are we going?"

"How about we check out the women’s section on the third floor? I’ll buy you a couple of outfits. I bet that boyfriend of yours has never bought you any nice clothes, has he?" Lin Qiang sneered.

Huang Hui didn’t answer.

She wanted to argue back.

But she couldn’t. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The clothes Jiang Sifan bought for her were all cheap, ready-made items from online that cost a few dozen yuan.

That obviously didn’t meet Huang Hui’s standards.

Seeing she was silent, Lin Qiang pressed his advantage. "How about this? I’ll give you a card. Spend whatever you want up to ten thousand. Buy any clothes you like. All you have to do is have a drink with me later."

Huang Hui bit her lip, completely torn.

If she agreed, would this guy try something when they went for drinks later?

But if she refused, she’d be throwing away ten thousand yuan.

As she was debating, the two of them stepped out of the elevator.

Lin Qiang didn’t give Huang Hui a chance to hesitate, preparing to lead her straight into a women’s clothing store.

Inexplicably, whether driven by vanity or something else, Huang Hui actually followed him, deciding she’d just buy a couple of outfits first and deal with the rest later.

’I haven’t bought new clothes in a month. I have nothing to wear. I’ll just go shopping with him and spend his money on a couple of things. I think I deserve it.’

Huang Hui was still trying to justify it to herself.

But just as she was about to enter the boutique, she saw a young man standing not far away.

He was staring daggers at her.

Huang Hui took a closer look and froze.

"Si... Sifan?!" For a moment, she didn’t know what to do. She immediately put some distance between herself and Lin Qiang, her mouth opening to try and explain.

Lin Qiang spotted Jiang Sifan as well. Unconcerned, he deliberately asked Huang Hui, "What’s wrong? Not going in to buy clothes?"

Jiang Sifan suppressed his rage and walked calmly up to Huang Hui. "Didn’t you say you were in your dorm?"

"I... I just came out. I thought I’d pop out to buy an outfit by myself," Huang Hui explained, still trying to salvage the situation.

"Then who’s this guy?" Jiang Sifan asked.

Huang Hui didn’t know how to explain and started to stammer, "He... he’s my best guy friend. Yeah, my best guy friend. He’s here helping me shop."

"Huang Hui, do you take me for an idiot?" Jiang Sifan asked coldly.

"No, Sifan, let me explain." Huang Hui grew anxious. "I didn’t do anything with him! He’s trying to pursue me, but I said no, and then he... he bought me an iPhone, and... right, these cosmetics."

Realizing her mistake, Huang Hui immediately pulled out the cosmetics set and tried to hand it back to Lin Qiang. "Here, take this back. I don’t want it."

"Hey, Huang Hui, that’s not what you said when we were alone together at the karaoke bar the other day," Lin Qiang teased, thoroughly enjoying himself.

He knew that as soon as Jiang Sifan showed up, this little couple’s relationship was most likely toast.

That being the case, Lin Qiang figured he might as well fan the flames and break them up for good. Who knows, maybe Huang Hui would come running into his arms afterward.

"Lin Qiang! Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell Kaelin everything?!" Huang Hui said, furious.

"Go ahead. She won’t leave me. You think she doesn’t know I fool around on the side?" Lin Qiang laughed. "She’s just smart, that’s all. As long as she’s obedient, she gets all kinds of cosmetics and designer bags."

Seeing that he’d fanned the flames enough, he waved his hand dismissively. "I won’t get involved in you lovebirds’ little drama. Huang Hui, I’m not taking back the things I gave you. Well, I’ll be on my way."

"You’re not going anywhere!"

Jiang Sifan, who had been silent this whole time, spoke up, his eyes red. "You’re staying right here until you explain everything!"

"Buddy, you should be asking your own girlfriend, not me," Lin Qiang said playfully. "You don’t expect me to give you all the details, do you? I’m afraid you might not like what you hear."

With that, he turned to leave.

But in the next second, Jiang Sifan’s fist slammed hard into Lin Qiang’s gut.

"Oof, son of a..." Lin Qiang never imagined Jiang Sifan would pull a cheap shot and sucker-punch him.

But Jiang Sifan had been fighting his whole life, so he understood one simple rule.

If you don’t want someone to hit you back, you have to hit them so hard they can’t get up in the first place!

Back when the village kids bullied him for not having a father, he hunted them down and beat them up one by one.

Now that he was grown up and getting pushed around by the other man, he was going to fight back!

Jiang Sifan was no coward, and he knew it!

He knew he was living in a society with laws.

This wasn’t like his childhood fights.

There would very likely be unnecessary trouble and consequences.

But Jiang Sifan couldn’t care about any of that right now. This guy was just asking for it!

Lin Qiang stumbled back from the blows, eventually falling to the ground.

Jiang Sifan pinned him to the floor with his knee on his chest and started punching him in the face.

Seeing this, Lao Jiu, one of the bodyguards secretly protecting Jiang Sifan, remarked with surprise, "I thought the Young Master couldn’t win this fight. I didn’t expect him to completely dominate!"

Lao Liu laughed. "The Young Master really takes after the Boss. He loves a good sneak attack."

When Huang Hui saw Jiang Sifan relentlessly beating Lin Qiang, she rushed forward to pull him off. "Jiang Sifan! What are you doing?! Are you trying to kill him?!"

She desperately tugged at Jiang Sifan.

"There’s nothing going on between us! Don’t believe a word he says! The more he says things like that, the more he’s just trying to destroy our relationship!" Huang Hui panted.

Jiang Sifan stopped pummeling Lin Qiang and turned to look at Huang Hui with cold eyes.

Huang Hui seemed to try and cow him with her attitude. "I’m telling you, Jiang Sifan, I’m innocent! Believe it or not! Don’t just stand there in silence! Say something! What is it you want?!"

"I just remembered something. I was so focused on hitting him, I forgot about hitting you."

The next second, a solid slap landed squarely on Huang Hui’s face.
