Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Silu Stays in the Presidential Suite, Stunned

After some hesitation, Jiang Silu finally accepted her father’s kind gesture.

She knew why Lu Fan had waited until after he left to have the lobby manager tell her she’d "won" a room upgrade.

It was mainly to spare her feelings and help her save face.

That being the case, she decided to accept it graciously.

Being indecisive about it would just be awkward.

Once Jiang Silu agreed, the lobby manager immediately sent for a butler.

The butler who approached was a man in his forties. He smiled and said, "Good evening, miss. I’m Zhang Guosheng, employee number 3922. It’s my pleasure to be of service."

As he spoke, he moved to take Jiang Silu’s laptop bag.

Jiang Silu said, embarrassed, "It’s alright, I can get it myself."

"Not at all, miss. It’s my job. My duty is to ensure you can relax completely as you settle into our presidential suite," the butler, Uncle Zhang, explained.

Jiang Silu had no choice but to hand him the laptop bag.

Then, she followed the butler into the elevator.

The moment the elevator doors closed, Jiang Silu’s palms, which had been sweating since the doors first opened, grew even clammier. She was so tense that her knuckles turned white as she clutched her canvas bag.

When the elevator doors opened again, Uncle Zhang stepped out first, smiling at Jiang Silu. "This way, miss."

He then led her toward the presidential suite.

Uncle Zhang’s leather shoes were silent on the carpeted floor.

His stride was firm and steady.

Every detail was perfect.

Jiang Silu, however, followed nervously behind him, her steps stiff and heavy, as if her shoes were glued to the floor.

"Miss, we’ve arrived."

Uncle Zhang pushed open the heavy doors, and the moment Jiang Silu stepped inside, her breath caught in her throat.

The place was as vast as a small neighborhood, yet so quiet she could only hear the THUMP-THUMP of her own heart.

The living room alone was large enough to contain her entire small living room and bedroom back home.

A three-tiered crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. Its thousands of faceted crystals cast a warm glow, scattering tiny flecks of light across the carpet. It was brighter than any light she had ever seen.

The cream-colored velvet sofa had a soft sheen. Touching it felt like sinking into a cloud, and as her fingers grazed the surface, she could feel the fine, dense pile.

It was smooth and cool to the touch.

But Jiang Silu didn’t dare touch it any longer. ’This sofa must be worth several months of my living expenses,’ she thought. ’I can’t just touch it casually. What if I get it dirty and have to pay for it?’

She stood under the crystal chandelier, looking visibly uncomfortable.

"Let me get you some water."

With that, Uncle Zhang went to pour a glass of warm water.

While she waited, her curiosity got the better of her, and she couldn’t help but look toward the terrace.

She carefully pushed aside the heavy silk curtains. The entire terrace was paved with non-slip stone tiles and furnished with a wicker lounge chair and a small, round table.

Looking down, the shrubs in the hotel garden were trimmed into perfect geometric shapes.

Standing here and gazing into the distance gave her a commanding view, making everything else seem small.

"Here you are, miss. Have some water."

Uncle Zhang handed the glass to Jiang Silu with both hands, a gentle smile on his face.

Jiang Silu snapped back to reality. She quickly took the glass and said softly, "Thank you, Uncle Zhang."

"Let me show you the bedroom." With that, Uncle Zhang led Jiang Silu inside.

He flipped on the light. Jiang Silu looked around, and the word ’big’ alone was not enough to describe the room.

It wasn’t just big; it was lavish and opulent.

The headboard was intricately carved from dark solid wood and draped with pale gold tassels.

The snow-white woolen sheets felt as soft as a baby’s skin.

"Miss, I’ll leave you to rest. There’s a phone here. If you need anything, just dial zero, and I’ll be here right away," Uncle Zhang said with the utmost respect.

After the butler left, Jiang Silu stood alone in the center of the living room.

Gazing at the surreal scene before her, her heart began to race again.

She felt the constant, uneasy feeling of a trespasser who had stumbled into another world.

She looked up at the crystal chandelier and thought silently, ’So this is what a presidential suite is like.’

Though she was thrilled, Jiang Silu also understood why Lu Fan had given her such an incredible suite. He wanted her to have a safe, comfortable place to stay where she could work on her drawings without being disturbed.

So, after taking a deep breath, Jiang Silu didn’t let herself get lost in the wonder of the suite. Instead, she settled down, opened her laptop, and started to draw.

Around midnight, when her drawing was nearly complete, she finally closed her laptop.

She tiptoed into the bathroom, and her eyes instantly went wide.

If the living room, terrace, and bedroom had been stunning...

...then for a young woman, having a luxurious bathroom was even more thrilling.

The bathroom’s walls and countertops were all cream-colored marble with perfectly fitted seams. It didn’t even feel cold under her bare feet.

The oval bathtub was edged with a fine, golden trim, and four or five frosted-glass bottles of scented oils were arranged beside it.

The mirror was large enough to show her entire reflection, and its frame was also brushed gold.

It was like something out of a palace.

Jiang Silu couldn’t resist taking several selfies in the bathroom alone.

To say nothing of the living room and bedroom.

She changed into a set of ice-silk pajamas provided by the suite, then lay on the bed and sent the photos of the living room, bedroom, and other areas to Jiang Sifan.

Soon, Jiang Sifan replied.

He sent only a string of question marks: ???

Jiang Sifan: What does this mean??

Jiang Sifan: Did you get a job cleaning hotels?

He would sooner believe she’d taken a job as a cleaner than that she was staying a night in a hotel like that.

Jiang Silu: I’m staying here tonight.

Jiang Sifan: ???

He sent another three question marks.

Jiang Sifan: Where’d you get the money?

Jiang Sifan: What’s going on?

So, Jiang Silu told Jiang Sifan everything that had happened that night.

To her surprise, Jiang Sifan called her immediately.

The first thing he said when she picked up was a furious scolding: "Are you an idiot?! You almost got assaulted just to save a little money!"

"I know I was wrong." Jiang Silu knew her brother would give her a piece of his mind.

And of course, she knew she really had been in the wrong.

Seeing that his sister’s apology was sincere, he took a deep breath and said, "Since he owns the hotel, just stay there and don’t worry about it. It doesn’t actually cost him much for you to stay a few nights—it’s just a little extra for electricity and laundry. Presidential suites are all about providing ’emotional value’ for rich people, anyway."

"So you don’t need to feel too much pressure. For him, it’s really not much of an expense."

Jiang Sifan said this because he was worried Silu would feel guilty.

He figured saying this would make her feel a little better.

"Yeah, I know." Jiang Silu then confessed, "Actually, when he found out I was almost harassed by that thug, the look in his eyes changed instantly. I could tell... our dad really does care about us."

"Comrade Jiang Silu, watch your words. He’s *your* dad. I’ve never acknowledged him. And he cares about *you*, not me," Jiang Sifan stressed.

Jiang Silu explained, "Don’t be like that. When you broke up with Huang Hui and got into that fight, wasn’t he the one who flew two hours from Yangcheng to rush back?"

"Alright, alright. I still don’t like him. He just knows you’re a softy, so he’s targeting you on purpose to try and change your opinion of him," Jiang Sifan said, exasperated.

He changed the subject. "And by the way, stop bringing up that woman. I already broke up with her."

"Haha, she actually came to me and asked me to put in a good word for you," Jiang Silu replied.

Hearing this, Jiang Sifan frowned. "And what did you say?"

"What do you think I said? Of course I refused. I never liked her anyway. I could tell she was a fickle flirt from a mile away. You were the only one who was completely clueless," Jiang Silu retorted.

Jiang Sifan was left speechless.

Jiang Silu continued, "And then, just to piss her off, I told her you already had a new girlfriend."

It suddenly dawned on Jiang Sifan.

’So that’s why Huang Hui came storming over here and threw a fit that day. It was my own sister’s doing!’

For a moment, he didn’t even know what to say.

Seeing Jiang Sifan go quiet, Jiang Silu probed, "You don’t still like Huang Hui, do you? Let me tell you, there are plenty of fish in the sea, so why get hung up on one person? Especially since she’s not even all that. Oh, right! You could go after that other girl."

"Who?" Jiang Sifan asked, confused.

"That girl from when I visited your school! The one you borrowed a meal card from... Wen Wan!!" Jiang Silu replied.

Jiang Sifan immediately clarified, "We’re just classmates. Don’t get the wrong idea."

"Can’t classmates become a couple? It’s not like you and Huang Hui weren’t classmates," Jiang Silu said, deliberately bringing up Huang Hui again.

Tired of her constantly beating the dead horse that was Huang Hui, Jiang Sifan said dismissively, "Okay, okay, I’m done talking to you about this. Wen Wan and I are business partners now. She’s helping me with my startup, and I’ve already signed contracts with several stores. I’m making several thousand a month!"

"That’s amazing!" Jiang Silu was shocked. "I can’t believe you actually pulled it off!"

"Of course. It’s mainly thanks to this older sister who’s a lawyer. Anyway, it’s getting late. We’ll talk another time." Jiang Sifan hurried her. "You should get some sleep. Good night."

"Okay, okay."

After hanging up, Jiang Silu’s curiosity was piqued. ’An older sister who’s a lawyer? Who could that be?’

She didn’t dwell on it, though. Tucking herself under the soft covers, she lay in bed and replayed the day’s events in her mind.

’I wonder if Dad’s house is as big as this luxury suite...’

...

When Lu Fan returned to Jinling Manor, Chen He informed him, "Boss, the thug has been delivered to Director Chen."

"Mm," Lu Fan nodded. "Were all his fingers broken?"

"Yes, all of them," Chen He confirmed. "According to Lao Liu, he couldn’t take it after the second one. He was screaming his head off."

"He should count himself lucky this happened in the country," Lu Fan said, his face devoid of expression.

Chen He nodded. "If this were overseas, I’d have probably emptied a clip into him by now."

"By the way, Jiali," Lu Fan added, "tell the hotel to assign three—no, make it five. Five dedicated staff members for Silu. If she needs anything, they must respond within five minutes."

Jiali replied, "Yes, Boss. I’ll arrange it at once."

Lu Fan returned to the villa. Seeing Old Luo there to greet him, he smiled. "Old Luo, I’m a little hungry."

"The meal is all ready and waiting for you, sir," Old Luo said with a gesture.

Lu Fan sat at the dining table and told him about the events of the past couple of days.

Old Luo listened quietly, placing food on Lu Fan’s plate as he spoke.

When Lu Fan mentioned his hand, Old Luo immediately asked, "Should I call for Dr. Jason?"

Dr. Jason was Lu Fan’s personal physician.

He lived right there in the villa.

He had only one task: to give Lu Fan a physical examination once a week.

This is why the wealthy live so long—regular check-ups.

If anything was found to be wrong, it could be treated immediately.

Lu Fan smiled and shook his head. "No need. This little scratch is nothing."

He ate a few bites before getting up to go rest in his room.

Before heading upstairs, he said to Old Luo, "By the way, Old Luo, have you prepared the two children’s rooms I asked you about?"

"They are ready, sir. Just waiting for you to bring the young master and young miss home," Old Luo replied.

"I hope so, too," Lu Fan chuckled.

He wasn’t very confident about his son, Jiang Sifan, at the moment. But he felt that with a little more effort, he might be able to convince his daughter, Jiang Silu, to agree to come live with him.

He hoped that day would come soon.
