In her last life, Qu Zhi tried her best to be a good wife who was sensible and did not cause trouble, a filial and good daughter who helped her family, and a good mother who accompanied her children. “We welcome this brand new year with the hope to bring a great change, and to continue progressing forward! Happy New Year 3100, Everyone!” The holographic image of a female spokesperson sounded from every tall skyscraper in Emerald City.

As the artificial fireworks sounded, a boy walking down an alley grunted.

“Humph! A happy new year for the people who have power and money, but it's the same situation for us.” Mako voiced his internal dissatisfaction while continuing to head to his destination.

Yi Ning’s head spun, and his heart gave birth to a strong hatred. He dragged his wrecked body to the back of the mountain and released the Demon Venerable Yan Xuan, who he had personally sealed nine years ago.

In return for undoing the seal, Yan Xuan would aid him in escaping.

After the man heard the reason why, he leaned against the wall and smiled with a hint of mockery. Yi Ning had thought he was going to ridicule him for having deserved it, being betrayed by an ingrate who bit the hand that fed him.
