Peter Gingery gave a sound of surprise, then chuckled and patted Jane Sampson’s clothes pocket, "There’s still quite a lot of good stuff in here, huh?"

"Yeah!" Jane Sampson nodded, "I was thinking about sharing it during the meal, but no one wanted it; they all wanted to eat meat. I didn’t want to throw it away, so I planned to bring it back to the dormitory. It won’t go bad, and I can still eat it tomorrow."

"This must be the most frugal time of your life, especially when it comes to food, you cherish it so much. I have to start looking at you in a new light." Peter Gingery patted Jane Sampson’s head, "Our little girl has grown up, huh~"

Jane Sampson shook off Peter Gingery’s presumptuous hand and then said, "I’m leaving."

After saying that, Jane Sampson turned her head, ready to leave, but unexpectedly, when she turned around, she suddenly saw James Black standing two meters away.

When did this guy get here? So silently.

"When did your brother start standing there?" Jane Sampson turned her head and asked Peter Gingery.

"When I was getting medicine for you," Peter Gingery gave a sound of surprise. "You didn’t know?"

Peter Gingery thought Jane Sampson said she was leaving because she knew his brother was standing over there waiting for her.

"Sooner or later you’re going to be the death of me!" Jane Sampson glared at Peter Gingery, then, steeling herself, she walked towards James Black, thankful he hadn’t heard her say that adorable remark about herself. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Watching Peter Gingery scamper off in a flash, Jane Sampson snorted. She then proceeded toward James Black.

Once she reached James Black, seeing that he was holding something in his hand, Jane Sampson casually asked, "What do you have there?"

James Black didn’t answer, simply putting the item into his pocket without showing any intention of letting Jane Sampson see it.

After putting away the item, James Black finally reached out to take Jane Sampson’s hand, leading her toward his dormitory.

"What’s the matter, so stingy, won’t even let me take a peek." Jane Sampson muttered, not really insistent on seeing it. She looked in the direction they were heading, thought for a moment, then looked up at James Black and said, "I’m not hungry tonight, I don’t want to have a late-night snack."

"Then come to my place and write a self-criticism report," James Black responded.

"..." Jane Sampson thought, if possible, she would actually be quite happy if he did get infuriated by her.

Was this really necessary?

Just the first night and he’s already making her write a self-criticism report?

Was he afraid she would renege?

Even if she wanted to renege, she wouldn’t be able to.

Jane Sampson bottled up her annoyance and decided not to engage with James Black. Unable to shake off the hand he held, she just turned her face away in a huff. The two of them walked in silence all the way until they were nearing the bottom of James Black’s dormitory building.

"Your dormitory building is quite lively today," Jane Sampson observed. Upon seeing the group of team members standing in front, she quickly ducked behind James Black.

James Black glanced at Jane Sampson, his voice tinged with a hint of helplessness, "Do you think my team is blind?"

These people, each one of them with sharp eyesight, would they not be able to see her?

"Chief! Goddess Sampton!" the group of team members stood there, almost all with sorrowful expressions, "We heard that you two have been together all day, and that Goddess Sampton has been staying at the Chief’s dormitory. We didn’t believe it, but seeing it now, we have no choice but to believe it."

"Chief, how could you do this?" Team Member A’s voice was almost breaking with emotion.

"Goddess Sampton, you can’t be so close with our Chief," Team Member B stepped forward, indignantly saying, "Our Chief is married, he’s been married for years! He has a wife, you can’t be with him."

"Goddess Sampton, did our Chief deceive you? You’re not the kind of person who would be a mistress, right?" Team Member A asked.

Jane Sampson stood there stunned. So, this group of people had been waiting here for her and James Black to come back?
