Chapter 539: Chapter 547: It’s Good That You’re Not Angry

James Black had massaged Jane Sampson’s hands and feet all over, and while he was bent over, diligently massaging her, Jane Sampson’s eyes never left him.

When he was on her left, her brain followed to the left, and when he moved to her right, she again shifted her gaze to the right.

James Black noticed she was staring and would occasionally lift his gaze to meet hers for a few seconds. She giggled, and he would avert his eyes, not saying a word from beginning to end.

Jane Sampson began to wonder, did James Black really get angry about this morning’s incident?

If he wasn’t angry, why had he been sarcastic with her since lunch and just now? He was looking at her but barely speaking to her.

Was he angry?

But now, he was busy giving her a massage, showing none of the signs that he was angry with her.

A man’s heart is as deep as the sea.

Hard to guess.

James Black stopped massaging Jane Sampson after nearly one hour and simply said, "Alright."

He then bowed his head to tidy the medical box by his side, picked up the box, and left the bedroom.

Jane Sampson sat up, shaking her arms; they felt slightly more comfortable, but just slightly. Once he stopped massaging, the sense of comfort and relaxation seemed to fade.

After putting on her shoes, Jane followed him out. James Black had already put his stuff away and was in the kitchen. Standing in the doorway, she asked, "James, what are you doing?"

James turned his head and glanced at her, replying, "Heating soup."

"Peanut soup?" Jane’s eyes lit up as she dashed into the kitchen, eagerly sidling up beside James. Peeking over, she saw it indeed was peanut soup.

He had brought home a big bowl of peanut soup this morning and had brought buns as well, so was this specially prepared for her late-night snack?

"So," Jane tugged at the hem of James’s clothes, "we call it even about this morning when you wouldn’t lend me your lunchbox and called me ugly?"

"Do I look like I’m angry with you?" James now had a straight face, "Would someone who is angry with you give you a hand massage? Heat you a late-night snack to eat?"

"Eh?" Jane bared her teeth, "As long as you’re not angry, that’s good, that’s good." 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

Jane breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing that James was staring at her, she promptly wrapped her arms around him from behind, "James, Chief Black, you really are a great man!"

After speaking, she even nuzzled her face against his back and softly added, "Then how about you lend me the lunchbox later, okay?"

James really wanted to pick up the woman who was getting too comfortable against his back and throw her out, but as his hand rested on Jane Sampson’s waist, he couldn’t bring himself to actually do it.

"In your dreams," James hummed, giving an inch and she’d take a mile.

Jane made a sound of protest and wrapped her legs around James’s, "Lend it or not? Lend it or not? If you don’t, I won’t get down!"

James raised his eyebrows, amused. Was she blatantly playing the scamp?

James looked down at the slender legs wrapped around his own. He had been massaging them for quite a while, so the skin on her legs was still somewhat red.

If she still had the energy to cling to him and play the scamp like that, it seemed that this afternoon’s training hadn’t pushed her to her limits yet.

James was somewhat surprised. It seemed Jane Sampson’s body was indeed healthier than he had thought.

As James carried the heated peanut soup out of the kitchen, Jane clung to him like a koala, all the way to the dining table. When they got there, James turned his head to look at the person on his back and asked, "You going to eat?"
